The model shown in the post above was made using the newly updated Ancestral calculator:

https://justpaste.it/9ogao

Finally fixed the Baltic HG overlap issue by adding in Central European Mesolithic samples. Now the Baltic HG will be split between WHG (which includes Central Euro Meso) and EHG. This seems to be the most reliable method so far.

The next fix will be regarding SC Asians 👍

As always, the fully updated calcs are available in the pinned message.

My first ever artistic reconstruction of a Iron Age Celt. One of the descendants of the Bell Beakers, the Iron Age Celts were heavy carriers of R1b. Their cultural influence once covered a majority of Western and Central Europe.

I created averages of the samples from various Celtic cultures (British Celts will be addressed later) in order to show a breakdown of their ancient ancestral groups.

Just a heads up,

I have one more post in the works that should be up within the next few days. But after that this page might fall silent for a while. I will be taking a break in order to focus on other projects.

Stick around, I’ll be back soon 👋

Estimated levels of Ancient North Eurasians in early steppe and steppe admixed groups.

I used the Paleolithic Calculator from Waters of Memory’s page:

https://news.1rj.ru/str/watersofmemory/112

Note: I did not use outlier or low resolution samples when I was estimating the ranges. These are approximations and some individuals from these cultures may of had more or less ANE ancestry. Abashevo samples were not used but they would be similar to Fatyanovo and Sintashta (like other Eastern Corded Ware)

Here are a few models to show roughly how much East Eurasian input ANS and ANE had.

The West Eurasian portion appears to have diverged very early (~40kya) from the same line that would later give rise to Kostenki14 and eventually the Sunghir Proto-Gravettians.

The East Eurasian portion is also very archaic and matches closest to a group related to Tianyuan man.
