Went out back and sprayed the new spookybust with some primer. And primed parts of the pumpkin ornament too for good measure. I should probably finish printing what I have on file soon. It is getting cold and, as you probably saw from my video, the temperature might be causing some warping. It looks like 3D printer season is going out with a whimper. To be honest this printer season sucked. I've had to purchase two new vats this year, wasted money on resin that refuses to co-operate with my settings, and have very little to show for it. I intend to finish my prints and pack everything up for next year.

Printer season is officially over. My sonichu-level bad luck just ended the season not just with a ruined vat film, but my worst nightmare: A RESIN LEAK. The LED screen in the back is completely destroyed.

the new LED screen is going to cost me $175, and a new vat is going to cost me $60

I learned how to clean the screen. Whoop-de-do. The vat is still ruined, and every time I try to change the film in one of those, the screws just dance or don't move at all. Printer season. is. over. I just want to put this stuff away, air out the shed, paint what I have printed, and not deal with this until next year. All of my bad luck has taken all joy out of printing this year.

It was that nativity ornament. Because it had a big pointy star on the top, and because it was being printed upside down, it must have been pressed against the film until it punctured. Never print anything pointy with the pointy parts facing the film.

I may have been a little hyperbolic about the printer being "destroyed." It is not. It is smudged, which is still bad, but can be remedied. It's not like more terrible resin spills.
