Ok... so... I have a theory that I'm going to put to the test. I believe that the constant module crashes are a result of someone screwing something up in the enhanced edition. So I'm going to just go back to NWN diamond and try there before I have t go.
Good news. I just tested the module and my theory was correct: EE *was* causing the crashes.
Alright, I am now recording Blackguard I on Neverwinter Nights. Yartar, roll for anal circumference!
The blackguard module does not want to play nice with me. You see, the module will not let you continue it if you do not have AT LEAST one blackguard level. Which requires SIX POINTS IN HIDE SKILL and +6 to natural attack bonus. For those who've never played Neverwinter Nights, that means your class options are very VERY limited
Experience Points in the module are... a little difficult to come by. If you play normally like you're supposed to. But even if you use cheat items and blow up every guard in sight, it might not be enough.
I did an experiment and yes, if you play anything that is NOT a fighter or barbarian, you're looking at eight long levels before you will ever see a single blackguard level.
Correction: If you are a ranger, you can potentially be a blackguard at level 6.
I suddenly don't want to play the blackguard module anymore. It FORCES you to choose one of two classes and you'll NEVER get your blackguard level without cheats otherwise.
Orders from upstairs: I've been told we're scrapping the "Dawn of War cringe" videos. Frankly, good riddance. In memoriam to the shit we almost took in our pants, I present these two thumbnails which are evocative of the horrors we were subjected to. Let this be a warning: if you play unification, DO NOT PLAY THE CHAOS RENEGADES! Do not even play against them. The cringe is too strong. I've been notified that a less cringe Dawn of War video is planned in the future.
Meanwhile, I will be adjusting the blackguard module to be more comfortable to me so I can show you all that. Because if I have to play a fighter/blackguard combination yet again, I'm going to have some say in the matter.
reee who decided that blackguards, fighter classes, needed FIVE RANKS IN HIDE!?
