It is a fire chemiplecta, also known as a fire snail or dracula snail. It is not difficult to guess why this mollusk got such an unusual name.
Fire chemiplexes are endemics of a small (about 100 km radius) mountainous area in Malaysia. And rank first among their congeners in size in their native country. Their black shell is up to 7 cm in diameter.
