The town of Legrad in northern Croatia is offering to buy empty houses for 13 euro cents

This is how the authorities want to save the town from population outflow. Now about 2000 people live there - half as many as 70 years ago. The mayor's office has a list of requirements for future Legrandians: under 45 years old, married, without a criminal record and not owning other property. An additional chance will be given to couples with children and people who have a profession in demand in the city. Croatian citizenship is not required. The program has already brought three families to the city.
