From the results above, Postgresql performance was far below than Mysql.
Where Mysql was able to handle whopping 150 requests/second, it is hard for Postgresql to cope with high queries and was able to serve with throughput of 2.9 requests/second.
The response time when connection is set to Postgresql is significantly lower than Mysql. 99% of the times, mysql served request within 1000ms for all queries, at 150 reqs/second throughput.
While Postgresql took 6 times more and for only 2.9 reqs/second throughput.
Both installations of postgresql and mysql were on default settings that come with the fresh installation on Mac and share same memory specs. It was good to compare results for both connections. By looking at the results, Mysql’s performance is far better than Postgresql, if you are building a simple app with basic find and inserts.Forwarded from omg! ubuntu
