1️⃣ Baby Alpha: Oct 28th

Security is our #1 priority as we roll out mainnet. zkSync 2.0 will launch on mainnet with no external projects so we can conduct stress tests & multiple security efforts. Devs may port & develop on testnet. We'll offer our v1 of docs & tutorials.

2️⃣ Fair Launch Alpha: Q4 2022

Upon initial testing, we'll conduct a fair launch onboarding process. Devs may port and develop on mainnet, but the system will still be closed to external users. We'll have additional security tests, offer v2 of docs, and more tutorials.

3️⃣ Full Alpha: EOY 2022

Once all security checks have passed, we'll raise the gate and allow open access to the bridge for external users. Going forward, we'll make further improvements to the system and additions to documents, tutorials, and tools based on dev feedback.

**Roadmap update**
An important update to the Fair Onboarding Alpha and the Full Launch Alpha milestones on our zkSync 2.0 roadmap.

TL;DR:
- Fair Onboarding Alpha estimate moved from Q4 2022 to Q1 2023
- Full Launch Alpha Q1 2023 to Q2 2023

"We expect our security audits to be completed by January 2023. Once we address any critical and high-priority issues, we’ll welcome our ecosystem partners for our Fair Onboarding Alpha (Q1 2023), and our users for the Full Launch Alpha (Q2 2023).

Update on the current state of our Layer 1, Layer 2, and circuit code audits.

So far, we've finished the 1st round of audits/contests and await results of the 2nd. Once done (Q1), we'll open source and start bug bounties. To be thorough and cover all bases, we’ll then invite a tier 1 blockchain security firm to run another audit.

Here’s what you can expect for Fair Onboarding Alpha. #scalingthemission ⬇️

During Fair Onboarding Alpha, we’ll welcome all ecosystem projects to deploy on zkSync 2.0 while the system is closed to external users. The protocol’s code will be open sourced at this stage.

This approach allows devs to test their code in a closed environment, without giving any team a competitive advantage. It also gives us time to validate that the system is working properly.

The Fair Onboarding Alpha milestone will also include:
• A new fee model to ensure transactions and block roll-ups are taken into account for overall system costs
• Improved proof generation performance
• Fixes to all audit findings

The duration of Fair Onboarding Alpha will be determined alongside ecosystem projects. Timing will be guided by system security and readiness.
After Fair Onboarding Alpha is complete, we’ll move to Full Launch Alpha and open up access to external users. This step will also include further improvements to the system and additions to zkSync 2.0 documentation, tutorials, and tools.

zkSync 2.0 regenesis February 8th

zkSync 2.0 testnet system will undergo a regenesis on Wed., Feb. 8 to prepare for Fair Onboarding Alpha.

⚠️ The regenesis will reset transaction history, token balances & require teams to redeploy contracts. This only applies to zkSync 2.0 testnet & not zkSync 1.0. ⚠️

This regenesis introduces breaking changes, including updates for:
1. Account abstraction/paymaster
2. SDKs
3. L1 contracts

Updated documentation for these changes will be released next week.
