In the Borova direction, Russian forces began advancing towards the village of Zelenyi Hai, recapturing previously lost positions.

Russian forces advanced west down two parallel forest plantations in the low-lying ground and captured new positions in them, to the northwest of the village of Stepy. Additionally, they advanced northwest of the village of Vyshneve, reaching the next treeline over and capturing new positions along it and the perpendicular treeline to the south. These treeline positions are on the tactical heights.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces advanced and entered the village of Ridkodub.

Following a previous failed atttempt at storming the village, Russian forces regrouped, before advancing west from their positions in the treelines north of the village of Nove and entered the first houses of Rikodub. They were able to take up positions in the northwestern part of the settlement, as well as to the south on the easternmost street.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces began a new series of assault operations in the direction of Lyman itself and have entered the village of Kolodyazi.

Russian forces advanced in two main directions here. Firstly, they pushed southwest down the road from the village of Ivanivka, seizing the forested areas that run parallel to it. They then entered the northern outskirts of Kolodyazi, capturing positions in the first couple of industrial buildings. After reinforcements were brought in, Russian forces pushed south, capturing the rest of the agricultural and industrial buildings, as well as a small residential area.

To the north, Russian forces advanced downhill to the southwest, capturing a forested area, before crossing over the gulley and capturing the large forest plantations to the southwest and west. Further positions were captured in forest plantations north of Kolodyazi in a separate attack. Additionally, a treeline northeast of Kolodyazi was captured.

+ ~7.32km² in favour of Russia.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces recently advanced and recaptured previously lost positions in the village of Torske.

Russian forces captured the forest plantation on the northeastern approaches to Torske and entered the northern houses of the village. They then pushed south, capturing further houses in the direction of the centre of the village.

Ukrainian forces maintain control over the fish farm in the northern part of the village, in the form of a separate bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Zherebets River.

+ ~2.41km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces broke through Ukrainian positions in Chasiv Yar, capturing most of the city centre.

Russian forces advanced across the whole front in the city centre, capturing dozens of buildings, including 4-story buildings which served as the primary strongholds for Ukrainian troops. Fighting is still ongoing for the last buildings in the southern part of the city centre; however this is in the grey zone now. Most Ukrainian soldiers have pulled back to the forests to the rear.

+ ~0.19km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces advanced north of the village of Ozarianivka and expanded the bridgehead on the western bank of the Siversky Donets-Donbas Canal.

Russian forces advanced over the Ozarianivka water treatment facility and captured positions in the opposite forest. They then expanded their zone of control to include the rest of the forest, before storming the trench systems and dugouts along the western bank of the canal from behind, capturing them.

+ ~0.25km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, both Russian and Ukrainian forces have made advances, capturing various positions.

Ukrainian forces were able to maintain partial control over the Matrona Moskovskaya mine, which allowed them to bring in reinforcements and counterattack, recapturing the rest of the mine. They then pushed further down the highway to Toretsk and recaptured the small residential area in the northern part of the city. They attempted to storm the city centre with a mechanised force, but all vehicles were destroyed, and the attack was repelled. Additionally, Ukrainian forces recaptured the Terykon which overlooks western Toretsk.

Russian forces made a small advance north of Toretsk and captured positions in the forests west of the summer camp on the southern bank of the western reservoir.

+ ~1.70km² in favour of Ukraine.
+ ~0.17km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces are making further progress in clearing the rest of the Zabalka district in southern Toretsk.

Russian forces advanced in two area. In the north they pushed down Tobolenka, Skachkova, Peremohy, and Shcherbakovoyi Streets, recapturing positions in the residential areas there.

In the south they pushed down Popovycha, Komarova, Kosmonavtiv, and Kochubeya Streets, recapturing further positions.

+ ~0.17km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces have made significant progress, captured numerous new positions and threatened the encirclement of a large salient.

Just under a week ago, Russian forces completed the capture of the village of Oleksandropil and achieved a localised breakthrough to the east, for nearly 5km, reaching the western bank of the Kalynivka River. They were able to entrench on the southwestern approaches to the village of Zorya, therefore meaning that Ukrainian forces in the sub-salient to the southwest will need to cross the Kalynivka River in order to escape encirclement. Additionally, further positions were captured on the southern ends of treelines on the northern flank of the breakthrough.

To the southwest, Russian forces advanced southeast of the village of Zelene Pole. They crossed the gulley and seized the forest plantation opposite to their initial positions. They then pushed up two more treelines, capturing the positions in them.

In the east, Russian forces made further progress in the direction of the village of Romanivka and captured two more treelines. They then gained a foothold on a third, and captured most of it, with the northern end still being in the grey zone for now. Additionally, Russian forces were able to make further progress through the forested areas in the low-lying ground on the western bank of the tributary of the Kryvyi Torets River, capturing new positions towards Romanivka.

+ ~9.71km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces made further progress in and around the village of Novoolenivka, and captured two large trench fortifications.

Russian froces advanced out of Novoolenivka and captured a trench strongpoint to the west. They then advanced north fom the village to the next fortification, capturing it too. They also advanced to the southern edge of the northern residential area of Novoolenivka which is separate from the rest of the village, and captured part of it.

+ ~1.83km² in favour of Russia.

A Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber departed from Shaykovka Airbase in Kaluga Oblast. It is likely redeploying to Olenya Airbase in Murmansk Oblast after being equipped with Kh-22 cruise missiles.

We're getting to one of those times of the year again where a large Russian missile strike on Ukraine is clearly imminent. Let me break the movements down for you, but first - I will write some background information for those who don't know as much about the patterns the strategic bombers take. You can skip to the three hashtags further down in this post if you already know about this.

There are 6 Airbases which are actively used by Russia for strategic bombers. They are: Olenya, Engels-2, Diaghilev, Shaykovka, Belaya, and Ukrainsk.

Olenya (Murmansk Oblast) is used as a staging ground for Tu-95s. The bombers fly here first, before using this airbase to fly south to the launch lines in Saratov, Volgograd and Astrakhan Oblasts, where they launch the missiles to Ukraine from.

Engels-2 Airbase (Saratov Oblast) is the original airbase used for equipping the bombers, specifically Tu-95s and Tu-160s, with Kh-101 cruise missiles. They will fly here, often from Olenya, before making a return trip to Olenya. Rarely, they will use this airbase as a staging ground for a missile strike, but only if bombers also depart from Olenya and it will usually be with Tu-160s. Tu-95s and Tu-160s also regularly conduct training missions from here.

Diaghilev Airbase is usually just used for bombers which aren't going to Olenya or Engels and isn't used as a staging ground.

Shaykovka Airbase (Kaluga Oblast) is used only for Tu-22M3 bombers. Many are stationed there, most of which are out of service, however this airbase is used to equip the ones which fly there with Kh-22 cruise missiles, before they make the return trip to Olenya.

Belaya Airbase (Irkutsk Oblast) used to only be used for training missions and general service for the bombers but has more recently began being used to equip Tu-95Ms and Tu-160s with Kh-101 cruise missiles. This is where a lot of the bombers have been deploying to recently.

Ukrainsk Airbase (Amur Oblast) is used for Tu-95s and Tu-160s for training purposes, usually for young pilots. Last year some Tu-95s moved to and from here for some temporary deployment reasons, but nothing important has been observed since.

###

Now for the recent developments. Significant movements of strategic bombers have been observed lately, including:

1 Tu-95MS bomber redeployed from Engels-2 to Belaya, bringing the total number of Tu-95s there to 8. It was already equipped with Kh-101 cruise

2 Tu-95MS bombers redeployed from Olenya to Engels-2. They were both equipped with Kh-101 missiles, before flying back north. One landed at Olenya and another landed at Diaghilev, although it's possible that the latter has since flown back to Olenya. Olenya airbase currently has 2 Tu-95s, Diaghilev has 3, while Engels-2 has only 3 Tu-160s. This is the first time in a long time that Engels-2 has had no Tu-95s stationed there.

2 IL-76MD military transport aircraft landed at Engels-2 over the past 24 hours, with the cargo consisting of Kh-101 cruise missiles.

At Belaya Airbase, 4 Tu-95s were equipped with Kh-101s following the flight of multiple Il-76 and multiple An-26 aircraft to the airbase. That number increased to 5 since the Tu-95MS arrived from Engels-2 last night.

1 Tu-160 redeployed from Belaya to Engels-2, possibly after being equipped with Kh-101 missiles.

1 Tu-22M3 redeployed from Olenya to Shaykovka. It has since taken off from Shaykovka and is flying over Lipetsk Oblast at the time of writing. It was likely equipped with Kh-22 cruise missiles after a An-12 cargo plane landed at Shaykovka yesterday.

Due to this large-scale activity, I will begin posting more frequently on the probabilities of an impending Russian missile strike, as well as general movement. In my opinion, it's likely that a big attack will occur in the next 10 days.

Toretsk.

Russian forces are outflanking Ukraine's last positions in the northern part of the city and are pushing from the territory of the summer camp. One attack was repelled; however recent Russian reinforcements make the situation very difficult for the AFU.

Following the localised breakthrough from Druzhba to Dyliivka, Russian forces captured most of Dyliivka. The rest of the village is in the grey zone. Ukrainian FPV drones are working on the lost positions.

The last parts of Zabalka (southern Toretsk) are being cleared. The district will fall soon. The private sector in the north of the city is also almost captured. Ukrainian positions are covered by the nearby terykons.

Despite Ukrainian success northwest of Toretsk, the Russians will probably outflank these positions and force a withdrawal. The battles for the main part of the city will probably end soon.
