🇺🇸 The United States has produced its first batch of modified B61 nuclear bombs this year, the B61-13 version, according to a completed report from the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA).
The decision to develop the new B61-13 modification was made shortly after the previous B61-12 variant entered service, with full-scale production beginning in 2022.
The Biden administration said at the time that it would not increase the number of nuclear charges in the arsenal and that any new B61-13 bombs would come at the expense of planned B61-12s.
According to defense officials, the B61-13 will use the W61-7 NLM from the B61-7 bomb, but the bomb will be modified with new safety and control features, as well as a guided tail kit from the B61-12 to improve accuracy compared to the older B61-7 free-fall bomb.

— 🇮🇷/🇮🇱 NEW: U.S. intelligence estimates that Iran is preparing to carry out a 'significant attack' against Israel before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump
On the one hand, Iran's Supreme Leader has repeatedly stressed the need to retaliate for the Israeli attack on Iranian territory which killed 4 air defense personnel back in October. In addition to this, the Iranian leadership reportedly considers the risk of another Israeli attack to be 'high', especially after the ceasefire in Lebanon. Israel has openly said it will take the battle to Iran.
According to one high-ranking U.S. official, Iran is 'probably willing to take preemptive measures', both in order to carry out its promised retaliation and to preempt any possible upcoming Israeli attack.
The Iranian military leadership and political echelon, according to the U.S. official, has now concluded that only a more aggressive and proactive posture will sufficiently deter Israel, and is willing to carry out a large scale attack 'even if it leads to war'.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces have advanced in the Pokrovsk direction and entered the village of Dachenske.
After establishing control over the fields and treelines to the southeast of Dachenske, Russian forces began storming the livestock farms in the south of the village. After 1-2 attempts, they were able to establish control over the complex, therefore giving them a foothold in the southern part of Dachenske.
The Russians took some time to consolidate their positions before advancing into the main, residential part of the settlement, and begun pushing the Ukrainians back to the highway. Ukraine put up a decent amount of resistance here, holding onto most of the houses, but was forced to slowly roll back to the highway, before being pushed into the fields to the west of the village.
It's possible that Ukraine still maintains a presence in the eastern houses, however. But due to the presence of the Solonyi river, if they are still there, they likely won't be for long.
+ ~8.05km² in favour of Russia.

A recent report by the Ukrainian source "Deepstate" suggests that Russian forces have likely advanced in the Velyka Novosilka direction and encircled Ukrainian troops in Makarivka.
Russian forces have likely advanced from positions in the treelines west of Storozheve, and linked up with the small Russian foothold on the western bank of the Mokri Yaly River, encircling Makarivka and the nearby fields and forests.
The nearby village of Storozheve is also at risk of being encircled.

Recent reports from multiple reliable sources suggest that Russian forces likely advanced in Dvorichna and reached the town centre.
After establishing control over the southern part of the town and partially securing their western flank, Russian forces began pushing north towards the 3-story buildings. They were likely able to entirely push the AFU from one of the streets here, forcing Ukraine to organise a defence in the town centre.

Russian forces have reportedly advanced in the Velyka Novosilka direction, taking up new treeline positions and are now within 300 metres of the last road that resupplies Velyka Novosilka.
If true, Velyka Novosilka is now officially in an operational encirclement as this last road can no longer be used.
