After storming Al Jazeera's headquarters in the West Bank, The Palestinian Authority (PA) has banned Al Jazeera from operating in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.

According to Barak Ravid, this was retaliation for the "highly critical coverage" of the joint PA and Israeli military operation in the West Bank city of Jenin against Palestinian armed factions, which started on December 14.

The Official Palestinian news agency "WAFA" stated that the decision was a result of Al Jazeera's "manipulation, interference in internal affairs, and dissemination of misleading and incendiary reports."

Al Jazeera has condemned the decision, saying that it was linked to a broader campaign against its journalists.

However, the PA announced that this suspension is temporary, pending the network's compliance with legal regulations.

The head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleh Synehubov has announced that a circular defence for the cities of Izyum and Balakliya is being prepared due to possible changes in Russia's movements and priorities at the front line.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces made a small advance in Toretsk.

After capturing the city centre and the central market, Russian forces went on to advance northwest of the high-rise buildings, establishing a buffer zone in the residential area. This also widens the frontline for future assault operations on the nearby terykon.

According to the Ukrainian source Deepstate, Russia is now 1.9km from the Mezhova - Pokrovsk highway.

From January 2nd, Moldova will import electricity from Ukraine and Romania. Most of their electricity needs (62%) will come from Romania, however Ukraine will supply electricity to Moldova from Ukraine's state nuclear energy operator, Energoatom. This will occur at night when consumption rates are lower and there is a surplus of resources.

This comes as a state of emergency was declared in Moldova's energy sector after Ukraine pledged to stop Russian gas supplies from entering Europe. Transnistrian authorities also declared an economic emergency in the region.

Russian forces have reportedly advanced south of Vozdyvzhenka, eliminating the small Ukrainian salient and capturing positions in the treelines north of Tymofiivka.

According to Palestinian and Arab media, the chief of Gaza's police Mahmoud Salah and his deputy Hussam Mustafa Shawan were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their tent in the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone near the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

They are among 11 people, including women and children, reportedly killed. The same sources say that 15 others were wounded.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces advanced in Toretsk, and are nearly at the city's northwestern limits.

After pushing southwest into the southwestern city limits, Russian forces turned to the northwest and spearheaded an advance for nearly a kilometre. They were able to bypass the Ukrainian positions in the school and terykon.

New positions were established in private residential areas, as well as the normal houses.
