From January 2nd, Moldova will import electricity from Ukraine and Romania. Most of their electricity needs (62%) will come from Romania, however Ukraine will supply electricity to Moldova from Ukraine's state nuclear energy operator, Energoatom. This will occur at night when consumption rates are lower and there is a surplus of resources.

This comes as a state of emergency was declared in Moldova's energy sector after Ukraine pledged to stop Russian gas supplies from entering Europe. Transnistrian authorities also declared an economic emergency in the region.

Russian forces have reportedly advanced south of Vozdyvzhenka, eliminating the small Ukrainian salient and capturing positions in the treelines north of Tymofiivka.

According to Palestinian and Arab media, the chief of Gaza's police Mahmoud Salah and his deputy Hussam Mustafa Shawan were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their tent in the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone near the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

They are among 11 people, including women and children, reportedly killed. The same sources say that 15 others were wounded.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces advanced in Toretsk, and are nearly at the city's northwestern limits.

After pushing southwest into the southwestern city limits, Russian forces turned to the northwest and spearheaded an advance for nearly a kilometre. They were able to bypass the Ukrainian positions in the school and terykon.

New positions were established in private residential areas, as well as the normal houses.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces advanced in the Andriivka direction and have reached the outskirts of Petropavlivka.

After capturing the village of Sontsivka, Russian infantry went on to cross the Strashnyi river at at least two points and established a foothold in the forest plantations on its western bank. After consolidating their positions, Russian forces went on to advance westwards, seizing positions in two treelines.

Russian infantry attacked the eastern outskirts of Petropavlivka, although it is unknown if they were successful in taking up positions there due to Ukrainian FPV drone attacks.

These positions are on the tactical heights, which progressively go downhill into Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. This means that there are no longer any topographical obstacles in the way.

With Russian forces now controlling a significant portion of the high ground near Novodmytrivka and - as of today - a foothold on the high ground near Petropavlivka, the way to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast is largely open, as the terrain slowly slopes downhill, making offensive operations much easier.

The British Embassy in Ukraine reported that 200 Ukrainian pilots have completed basic training in preparation for operating F-16 fighter jets.

The training was conducted by Royal Air Force (RAF) instructors, and included general aircraft handling, flying by the aircraft’s instruments, low level navigation and advanced formation flying.

In addition to this, the pilots received ground schooling and language training.

Russian forces have reportedly advanced in western Donetsk Oblast and have apparently entered the village of Slovyanka from the east, while also seizing treeline positions in the area.

Russian forces have reportedly crossed the Solona river at yet another point, establishing a bridgehead in the forest plantations on the river's western bank.

Russian forces have reportedly made a small advance southeast of Upsenivka, in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, apparently capturing new treeline positions.
