Remember, Chasiv Yar is situated right at the top of the tactical heights. Future advances significantly favour Russia, that's why they are fighting so hard for it, and that's why Ukraine is defending it for as long as possible - they know the consequences of its loss.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Russia wont advance downhill to Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka and Kramatorsk until Pokrovsk falls and an offensive north from there is carried out. Simultaneous pushes will allow for the envelopment of Kostyantynivka, and rear battles in Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka, making defensive operations in these cities very difficult.

Over the past two weeks, the pincers have continued to form around Pokrovsk. The eastern pincer, or flank, has seen a lot of progress, with a spearhead forming, cutting the Pokrovsk - Kostyantynivka highway. We will likely see efforts to expand the width of this spearhead in the coming days/weeks.

The western flank has also seen progress, with this one having wider advances. This is partially because of less Ukrainian fortifications here, compared to the eastern flank. Yesterday Russia was able to establish fire control over the Mezhova - Pokrovsk highway and are now just over 7km from the Pavlohrad - Pokrovsk highway, which is the primary Ukrainian supply line for this sector.

Meanwhile, Russia continues to push closer and closer to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, which will undoubtably further over-extend the already limited Ukrainian manpower and resources in this area.

Based on reports from Israeli media, I can estimate that 12 IDF soldiers have been killed, and 46 others have been wounded in fighting over the past 4 days in Gaza, almost all of which were in the city of Beit Hanoun in Northern Gaza.

Keep in mind, the true number is likely higher.

This is a significant uptick in Israeli casualties.

Last night, Ukraine conducted a massive, combined UAV and ATACMS strike on the Bryansk Chemical Plant. Ukrainian sources reported that at least 13 missiles struck the plant, which was apparently converted to develop and supply ammunition.

Satellite imagery reveals that the plant has been significantly expanded between 2022 and 2024, lining up with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the significant expansion of Russia's defence industry.

However, it appears that Ukraine went all in on this attack, completely overwhelming Russia's air defence in the area.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces continue to advance west of Makiivka, and have made further progress on the tactical heights.

After advancing uphill along two treelines, Russia began assault operations on the Ukrainian positions in a forest. Russia already had a foothold here, so capturing it was simplified. Russian forces advanced west from their positions in the forest, capturing Ukrainian trenches there.

Now that the Russians are at the top of the tactical heights, here, they will be able to advance with much more ease towards the border with Kharkiv Oblast.

+ ~1.48km² in favour of Russia.

A recent map update from the Ukrainian source "Deepstate" indicates that Russian forces advanced in the Pokrovsk direction and captured the village of Zelene.

After Ukrainian forces withdrew from their remaining positions south of the village, Russian forces were able to advance westwards from their positions in the eastern part of the village, capturing the remaining houses. Ukraine has now withdrawn north to positions in the village of Novoukrainka. Russia will probably attack this village from the railway line to avoid crossing 1km of uphill and open fields.

+ ~0.67km² in favour of Russia.

Recent reports from multiple reliable sources indicate that Russian forces have advanced on a wide front on the western flank of Pokrovsk.

While this advance isn't very deep, the progress was still important for Russia.

Moving from north to south, Russian forces were able to advance from positions in the treeline by the chalk quarry and physically cut the Mezhova - Pokrovsk highway - 1 of 4 remaining sealed roads to Pokrovsk that was still not physically cut. Russia was able to take up positions in the southern windbreak of the railway line near Udachne, and advanced up it towards the village of Kotlyne.

Further south, Russian forces were able to advance west from the chalk quarry, capturing one treeline and establishing a foothold on a second one. They were also able to advance down a forest plantation on the northern bank of the Solona river, possibly in an attempt to bypass the village of Upsenivka from the north, which would in turn endanger the road leading into the settlement from the west.

Meanwhile, battles have begun for Upsenivka, with Russian forces crossing the tributary of the Solona river that separates Novovasylivka and Upsenivka. They were able to capture a forest plantation on the eastern approaches to Upsenivka.

+ ~3.54km² in favour of Russia.

A recent map update by the Ukrainian source "Deepstate" indicates that Russian forces advanced in western Donetsk Oblast.

In the north, Russian forces crossed a tributary of the Solona river and established control over the intersection of three treelines. They then pushed south down a treeline towards the northwestern houses of Yasenove, but were unable to reach it. The rest of this treeline is currently in the grey zone.

Further east, Russian forces marginally advanced down a forest plantation west of the village of Ukrainka.

And, in Yasenove itself, Russia advanced down the northern street, capturing the central part of the village and putting them just ~460 metres from its western outskirts.

+ ~0.90km² in favour of Russia.

There are currently 4 Kalibr cruise missile carriers active in the waters of the Black Sea. They include the following:

2x ships of the Admiral Makarov/Esen project (Total possible salvo of 16 missiles)
1x ship of the "Buyan-M" project (Total possible salvo of of 8 missiles)
1x ship of the "Varshavyanka" project (Total possible salvo of 4 missiles)

This gives us a total possible salvo of up to 28 Kalibr cruise missiles and marks a significant increase of the number of Russian Kalibr-carriers active in the Black Sea compared to two days ago.

A recent map update by the Ukrainian source "Deepstate" indicates that Russian forces marginally advanced in the Andriivka direction.

They were able to advance west from positions on the northern outskirts of Petropavlivka, capturing a treeline and reaching the intersection with the next one.

This advance further increases Russia's presence on the tactical heights in the area.

+ ~0.58km² in favour of Russia.
