However, it said that “repeated attacks” had been carried out against Tigray by armed groups operating in Afar region, alleging that these forces were “organized and armed” with external support.
This is the second time in a month that the interim administration accused TPF of carrying out or planning to carry out attacks against Tigrayan forces.
The TPF was organized by Brigadier General Gebre-Egziabher Beyene, a former senior member of the Tigrayan forces, who claimed to have control over “four divisions” operating in both Afar and Tigray regional states.
