Post-doc/PhD positions in Neural Machine Translation (CIS, LMU Munich)
I am expanding my research group, which is located at the Center for Information and Language Processing at the University of Munich (LMU).
Candidates will focus on cutting edge research into using deep learning techniques to solve machine translation (neural machine translation). The group is a well-known machine translation research group with strong interests in related natural language problems. The working language of the group is English, no knowledge of German is required.
Three positions are available (one post-doc position and two PhD student positions), with a target starting date of October 2018. In addition, I am looking for early expressions of interest in a further possible post-doc position (see below).
Position 1 is for a funded full-time post-doc on my European Research Council Starting Grant.
Position 2 is for a funded full-time PhD student on my European Research Council Starting Grant.
Position 3 is for a local unfunded PhD student. The candidate is already working externally in the Munich area, and wishes to carry out research for a PhD degree.
I am also looking for early expressions of interest in a possible full-time post-doc in Summer 2019. The candidate should have been working outside of Germany and be interested in moving to Munich in the Summer of 2019. Please contact me for further details.

Project summary
The student will apply Bayesian statistics and machine learning in new and innovative ways to help transform the field of environmental data science. 🔎 بله در برخی از کشورهای اروپایی امکان کار همزمان با تحصیل به صورت محدود (معمولا 15 تا 20 ساعت در هفته، با درآمد متوسط حدودا 10 تا 20 یورو به ازای هر ساعت کار) وجود دارد. اما در مورد کار همزمان با تحصیل نکات زیر را در نظر داشته باشید:

۱- اینکه بتوانید کار کنید یا نه، به حجم درس شما، برنامهی درسی شما در طول هفته، و نظر استاد شما بستگی دارد.
2- تعداد موقعیتهای کار پاره وقت و مناسب با شرایط دانشجو معمولا کم است.
3- اگر در یک کشور غیر انگلیسی زبان هستید (مثلا آلمان)، معمولا پیدا کردن کار به زبان محلی آن کشور نیاز دارد (مثلا در آلمان، زبان آلمانی).
4- کارهای پاره وقت معمولا دائمی نیستید. یعنی حتی در صورت پیدا کردن کار، ممکن است بعد از مدتی مجبور باشید دوباره دنبال کار بگردید.
5- وقتی فردی در خود ایران از شهری به شهر دیگر کوچ میکند، مدتی طول میکشد که با شرایط جدید خودش را وقف دهد. چه رسد سفر از کشوری به کشور دیگر. پس تا مدتی احتمالا نمیتوانید اساسا به کار فکر کنید.

❓ من میخواستم اپلای کنم و با هزینهی شخصی (حمایت خونواده) در خارج از کشور ادامهی تحصیل بدم. ولی با توجه به گرون شدن دلار، دیگه خونوادهم توان مالی برای ساپورت من رو ندارن. با توجه به این امر، در کنار کمک خونوادهم، من مجبور هستم که کار کنم در اونجا. من میدونم که در برخی از کشورهای اروپایی امکان کار همزمان با تحصیل وجود داره. میخواستم نظر شما رو در این مورد بدونم.
🔎 بله در برخی از کشورهای اروپایی امکان کار همزمان با تحصیل به صورت محدود (معمولا 15 تا 20 ساعت در هفته، با درآمد متوسط حدودا 10 تا 20 یورو به ازای هر ساعت کار) وجود دارد. اما در مورد کار همزمان با تحصیل نکات زیر را در نظر داشته باشید:

۱- اینکه بتوانید کار کنید یا نه، به حجم درس شما، برنامهی درسی شما در طول هفته، و نظر استاد شما بستگی دارد.
2- تعداد موقعیتهای کار پاره وقت و مناسب با شرایط دانشجو معمولا کم است.
3- اگر در یک کشور غیر انگلیسی زبان هستید (مثلا آلمان)، معمولا پیدا کردن کار به زبان محلی آن کشور نیاز دارد (مثلا در آلمان، زبان آلمانی).
4- کارهای پاره وقت معمولا دائمی نیستید. یعنی حتی در صورت پیدا کردن کار، ممکن است بعد از مدتی مجبور باشید دوباره دنبال کار بگردید.
5- وقتی فردی در خود ایران از شهری به شهر دیگر کوچ میکند، مدتی طول میکشد که با شرایط جدید خودش را وقف دهد. چه رسد سفر از کشوری به کشور دیگر. پس تا مدتی احتمالا نمیتوانید اساسا به کار فکر کنید.

The purpose of the Statistical Relational AI (StarAI) workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners from two fields: logical (or relational) AI and probabilistic (or statistical) AI. به بهانهی روز بزرگ داشت فردوسی:
نظر میرجلال الدین کزازی، استاد بزرگ ادب پارسی در مورد بی همتای ادبیات پارسی، فردوسی.
میرجلالالدین کزازی در تازه ترین سخنان خود با اشاره به یکم بهمن ماه گفت: به درستی نمی دانم که چرا این روز زادروز فردوسی شمرده شده است اما در آن چند و چون و مگر هست. این زمینه ای است ادبی و تاریخی که همواره باید بدان اندیشید و در آن کاوید اما از این دید که روزی را ما روز فردوسی بشماریم و آن روز را گرامی بداریم ، این زمینه چندان ارجی نمی تواند داشت. این شاهنامه پژوه و استاد زبان و ادب فارسی همچنین افزود : مشخص نبودن زادروز فردوسی بهانه ای بهینه در بیش اندیشیدن و پرداختن به فردوسی و شاهنامه او خواهد بود. از نگاهی بسیار فراخ، هر روز که ما در آن به ابرمرد فرهنگ و ادب ایران بیندیشیم و به شاهکار ورجامند و بی مانند او، آن روز ، خجسته روز فردوسی و شاهنامه خواهد بود. این شاهنامهپژوه و پژوهشگر برجسته ایرانی در زمینه اهمیت و جایگاه فردوسی در ادبیات ایران در گفت وگو با خبرنگار ایرنا گفت: فردوسی سخنوری است که او را نمی توان از دید کارکرد بنیادین و نهادین گسترده و ژرفی که بر فرهنگ و منش ایرانی نهاده است با هیچ سخنور دیگری سنجید و برابر نهاد.
این چهره ماندگار فرهنگ و ادب ایران افزود: فردوسی شاهکاری جاودانه و بی مانند را پدید آورده که تنها یک شاهکار ادبی نیست، از بعدی شاهکاری ادبی است اما شالوده آنچه من آن را ناخودآگاهی تباری می نامم با این پدیده شگرف و شگفت ادبی و فرهنگی در ایران نو، ایران پس از اسلام ریخته شده است.
میرجلال الدین کزازی ادامه داد: به گونه ای می توانیم بیانگاریم که اگر فردوسی در یکی از باریک ترین و دشوارترین روزگاران در تاریخ این سرزمین کهن سر بر نمی آورد و شاهنامه را نمی سرود ما ایرانیان اکنون خود را ایرانی نمی دانستیم و به زبان دلاویز و شورانگیز فارسی با یکدیگر سخن نمی گفتیم. بر همین پایه است که من شاهنامه را نامه فرهنگ و منش ایرانی می نامم. به گفته وی فردوسی نه تنها در فرهنگ و ادب ایران بی همتاست بلکه در ادب و فرهنگ جهان هم براستی نمی توان سخنوری را همتا و همبالای او نشان داد، برای نمونه هومر سخنسرای یونانی یا ویرژیل سخنسرای روم را که برترین رزمنامه سرایان اروپایی اند نمی توان با فردوسی در یک تراز و ترازو نهاد.
این پژوهشگر برجسته ایرانی افزود: هنوز نیز فردوسی نزد ایرانیان شناخته ترین سخنور و شاهنامه شناخته ترین شاهکار ادبی است. اگر آماری بگیریم در این زمینه بی گمان فردوسی و به همان سان شاهنامه در فراز این آمار جای خواهند گرفت.
