Who Is This Shaykh?
Shaykh Saʿīd Al-Hilayl, may Allāh preserve him, is one of the Salafi scholars of the Sunnah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—may Allāh protect it. He resides in the province of Ḥāʾil, where he is regarded as its mufti. He delivers beneficial lessons and travels for daʿwah, including at the Ḥaramain.
He is distinguished among the scholars for his stance against the people of innovation and desires, and he has issued refutations against them based on clear proof and evidence. Some troublemakers and slanderers attempted to provoke him into speaking negatively about the scholars of Dammāj and sought to stir resentment in his heart against Shaykh Yaḥyā Al-Ḥajūrī. However, they gained nothing from him except sincere and kind advice. Despite visiting him multiple times, they returned empty-handed—by the grace of Allāh.
Shaykh Saʿīd is a devoted supporter of the Salafi daʿwah. He knows Shaykh Yaḥyā personally and has sat with him. He regularly asks about him, the daʿwah efforts, and the students, and he receives the latest updates regarding his statements. Whenever we communicate with him, he sends his greetings to them. He also maintains contact with a number of other scholars and students of knowledge. May Allāh reward him with goodness.

Ēmān instills resilience in every situation
Sheikh ’Abdurrazzaq Al-Badr ḥafidhahullāh said:
Anxiety is a disturbance of the heart; and when Ēmān resides firmly within the heart, the heart does not waver, but remains steadfast. Whoever finds his heart unsettled should seek refuge in Ēmān, for through Ēmān one repels the unrest of the heart. When a person is afflicted with distress, hardship, or adversity that constricts his chest, he should hasten to Ēmān—to worship, to seeking refuge in Allāh, the Exalted—so that his heart may be relieved and its burden lifted.
As Shaykh As-Saʿdī (may Allāh have mercy upon him) mentioned, this is one of the great fruits of Ēmān: it instills in the believer’s heart a steadfastness in all circumstances, in all changes and trials of life. Even amidst great tribulations, he remains ever mindful of Allāh’s grace, maintaining a strong bond with Him and deep reliance upon Him, exalted be He.
I recall once visiting a noble man—may Allāh have mercy upon him—who had been confined to his bed for nearly twenty years, unable to move any part of his body except his head. For almost two decades, he lay motionless. When I entered his home and greeted him, I asked, “How are you?” He replied, “All praise be to Allāh; by Allāh, I turn about within the blessings of Allāh (i.e. I am surrounded by His blessings).” These were his exact words: “By Allāh, I turn about within the blessings of Allāh.”
For twenty years his body had not moved, and yet he said with full conviction, “I turn about within the blessings of Allāh.” May Allāh have mercy upon him.
Meanwhile, you may find another person who walks with strength, whose limbs are sound, who moves about with vigor and energy—yet when asked about his state, you will not hear from him words even close to those. Rather, he complains and laments his ailments and pains.
That man who lay paralysed once told me, “I was alone in my room, and a fly came and landed on my face, even over my eye, and I could not drive it away.” He said, “So I said to it, ‘Go away, or I shall complain of you to Allāh.’ Then it flew off. I was hurt by it, but could do nothing about it.” Yet despite this, he said to me—word for word—“I turn about within the blessings of Allāh”
This is precisely what the Shaykh referred to: Ēmān instills resilience in every situation.

The Purpose of Mankind and Jin
وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ
And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡهُم مِّن رِّزۡقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ
I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures).

“Perform Hajj and ‘Umrah Regularly”: A Prophetic Encouragement
Al-Ṭabarānī reports in his Al-Muʿjam Al-Awsaṭ the narration of Jābir (رضي الله عنه), the Prophet ﷺ said:
“أَديموا الحج والعمرة فإنهما ينفيان الفقر والذنوب كما ينفي الكير خبث الحديد”
“Perform Hajj and ‘Umrah regularly, for they remove poverty and sins just as the bellows removes the impurities of iron.”
Authenticated by Al-Albānī in Al-Silsilah Al-Ṣaḥīḥah (1085) and Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Jāmiʿ (253)
This ḥadīth encourages believers to perform Hajj and ‘Umrah regularly according to their ability. The verb “أديموا” indicates continuity and consistency, not necessarily yearly repetition, but maintaining a connection to these acts.
The Prophet ﷺ mentions two major benefits:
1. Removal of poverty:
Scholars explain that Allah places barakah in one’s wealth, grants new avenues of provision, and protects the servant from the constriction of poverty. The spending done for Hajj is replaced by Allah with better.
2. Removal of sins:
Hajj and ‘Umrah cleanse the heart and soul, just as intense heat purifies iron by removing impurities. Their combined rites involve physical effort, du‘ā’, tawāf, humility, and sacrifice, all of which purify the believer.
The simile of the bellows highlights the transformative power of these acts: they burn away sins and spiritual rust, elevating the believer.
Let this ḥadīth be your motivation and take the next step toward these virtues by joining our ‘Umrah journey.

The Reward of Walking to Jummah
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever washes on the day of Jummah and takes a bath, then leaves early and walks (does not ride), sits close to the Imaam, listens attentively, and does not talk or play, will have a reward for every step he took from his house to the masjid equivalent to fasting and praying for an entire year.”

How is it that Donald Trump can call Somalis “garbage,” yet no one from the Salafi community responds?
Perhaps it is because Trump is widely recognised as a reckless, thoughtless, and foolish novice occupying the presidency—a person who, by his very nature, does not merit a response.
As a poet wisely said:
إِذا نَطَقَ السَفيهُ فَلا تَجِبهُ * فَخَيرٌ مِن إِجابَتِهِ السُكوتُ
"When the fool speaks, do not answer him; for silence is better than responding to him."
فَإِن كَلَّمتَهُ فَرَّجتَ عَنهُ * وَإِن خَلَّيتَهُ كَمَداً يَموتُ
"If you address him, you relieve his agitation; but if you leave him be, he will perish in his spite."
Another poet reflects similarly:
أوكلما طن الذباب زجرتُه * إن الذباب إذا علي كريم
"If every time a fly buzzes I chase it away, the fly gains a place of status with me."
Even before such wisdom, Allāh ﷻ instructs:
{وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِینَ}
"Turn away from the foolish." [Surah Al-Aʿrāf: 199]
It should also be noted that the real problem with Trump’s statement is not that many Somalis receive benefits—large families often qualify—nor that a minority may commit fraud through false disability claims or other forms of abuse. Such issues, regrettably, are present in many societies. The true problem lies in his indiscriminate generalisation, which transforms the behaviour of a few into a blanket accusation against an entire nation.
Advice for Somalis and Muslims in general
We must understand that the kuffār do not wish for us to live as Muslims, nor to practice or preach Islam freely in their lands. As Allāh ﷻ says:
{وَلَن تَرۡضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلۡیَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمۡ}
"Never will the Jews or Christians be pleased with you, until you follow their faith." [Surah Al-Baqarah: 120]
Your very adherence to Islam is already difficult for them to tolerate. To claim benefits from them while living by your faith is even more unbearable in their eyes.
As Allāh ﷻ reminds us:
{قَدۡ بَدَتِ ٱلۡبَغْضَاۤءُ مِنۡ أَفۡوَ ٰهِمۡ وَمَا تُخۡفِی صُدُورُهُمۡ أَكۡبَرُ}
"Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater." [Surah Āli-ʿImrān: 118]
If Trump seeks to “Make America Great Again” by expelling Muslims to lands they have historically interfered with or harmed, then it is only logical for Muslims who struggle to practice their faith there to consider returning home. By doing so, they can bring their knowledge, skills, and experiences to contribute positively and help make their own countries great again.
Allāh ﷻ says:
{إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ ظَالِمِیۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ قَالُوا۟ فِیمَ كُنتُمۡۖ قَالُوا۟ كُنَّا مُسۡتَضۡعَفِینَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ قَالُوۤا۟ أَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ أَرۡضُ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٰسِعَةࣰ فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِیهَاۚ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَسَاۤءَتۡ مَصِیرًا (97)}
"Verily, as for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as they stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they (angels) say: 'In what condition were you?' They reply: 'We were weak and oppressed on the earth.' They (angels) say: 'Was not the earth of Allāh spacious enough for you to emigrate therein?' Such men will find their abode in Hell—what an evil destination!"
{إِلَّا ٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِینَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَاۤءِ وَٱلۡوِلۡدَ ٰنِ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ حِیلَةࣰ وَلَا یَهۡتَدُونَ سَبِیلࣰا (98)}
"Except the weak among men, women, and children who cannot devise a plan, nor are they able to direct their way."
{فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ عَسَى ٱللهُ أَن یَعۡفُوَ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورࣰا (99)}
"These are they whom Allāh is likely to forgive, and Allāh is Ever Oft-Pardoning, Most Forgiving."
{وَمَن یُهَاجِرۡ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللهِ یَجِدۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُرَ ٰغَمࣰا كَثِیرࣰا وَسَعَةࣰۚ وَمَن یَخۡرُجۡ مِنۢ بَیۡتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ یُدۡرِكۡهُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ فَقَدۡ وَقَعَ أَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللهِ وَكَانَ ٱللهِ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا (100)}
Perhaps it is because Trump is widely recognised as a reckless, thoughtless, and foolish novice occupying the presidency—a person who, by his very nature, does not merit a response.

{وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِینَ}
{وَلَن تَرۡضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلۡیَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمۡ}
{قَدۡ بَدَتِ ٱلۡبَغْضَاۤءُ مِنۡ أَفۡوَ ٰهِمۡ وَمَا تُخۡفِی صُدُورُهُمۡ أَكۡبَرُ}
{إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ ظَالِمِیۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ قَالُوا۟ فِیمَ كُنتُمۡۖ قَالُوا۟ كُنَّا مُسۡتَضۡعَفِینَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ قَالُوۤا۟ أَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ أَرۡضُ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٰسِعَةࣰ فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِیهَاۚ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَسَاۤءَتۡ مَصِیرًا (97)}
{إِلَّا ٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِینَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَاۤءِ وَٱلۡوِلۡدَ ٰنِ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ حِیلَةࣰ وَلَا یَهۡتَدُونَ سَبِیلࣰا (98)}
"Except the weak among men, women, and children who cannot devise a plan, nor are they able to direct their way."
{فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ عَسَى ٱللهُ أَن یَعۡفُوَ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورࣰا (99)}
"These are they whom Allāh is likely to forgive, and Allāh is Ever Oft-Pardoning, Most Forgiving."
{وَمَن یُهَاجِرۡ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللهِ یَجِدۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُرَ ٰغَمࣰا كَثِیرࣰا وَسَعَةࣰۚ وَمَن یَخۡرُجۡ مِنۢ بَیۡتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ یُدۡرِكۡهُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ فَقَدۡ وَقَعَ أَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللهِ وَكَانَ ٱللهِ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا (100)}

Shortly after I shared the above post (https://news.1rj.ru/str/madrasatuna/5500), a respected brother kindly brought to my attention the following response from one of the Salafi Sheikhs of Somalia:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
To proceed:
It is no surprise that, in these days, the President of the United States issues harmful accusations and false charges directed at the Somali community. No one can alter the truth or deny history. The Somali people have distinguished themselves through service to Islam, honouring it, and showing disdain for disbelief and its adherents. Perhaps one of the most notable characteristics of this community has been their deep aversion to America, a profound dislike for it.
We ask Allāh to grant victory to His Book, the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ, and His believing servants. All praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of the worlds.
Recorded reflections, 14 Jumādā al-Ākhirah 1447 AH

How is it that Donald Trump can call Somalis “garbage,” yet no one from the Salafi community responds?
Perhaps it is because Trump is widely recognised as a reckless, thoughtless, and foolish novice occupying the presidency—a person who, by his very nature…
