Dear Minister,

It is deeply troubling to the Australian Serbian community that in a time of increasing racial tension and division in Australia, you have chosen to punish innocent children.

We find it unacceptable that any ethnic group in modern Australia should be discriminated against because of their cultural heritage.

However, punishing innocent children who are Australian citizens is unheard of. Many of the children have not even been to Russia.

Your actions, as the Minister for Multiculturalism, amount to an act of racial vilification and are a clear breach of section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).

But instead, your actions, and more broadly the actions of the South Australian Government, fan the flames of racial division, hatred and bigotry.

We call on you as the Minister for Multiculturalism and on the Premier of South Australia, as a matter of upmost urgency, to apologise to Australian Russian Community and reverse your decision and allow the children of Russian heritage to perform at the SA Multicultural Festival.

Incredibly rare hand-to-hand combat during the assault on Ukrainian positions.
