Lesson from Surah Al-Kahf:

A rejection, a loss, a delay always a deprivation, it is indeed Allah’s divine help to protect you, give you better and reward you.

Importance of Siwak/Miswak in Islam 🦷

‏بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

There are more than 40 hadiths mentioning miswak!!!

Were it not that it would be too difficult for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the Siwak at (the time of) every Salah."
Sunan an-Nasi

“I said to 'Aishah: 'What did the Prophet (ﷺ) start with when he entered his house?' She said: 'The Siwak.'"

My father told me: 'I heard 'Aishah say, (narrating) from the Prophet (ﷺ): "Siwak is a means of purification for the mouth and is pleasing to the Lord."

“I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was using the Siwak and with me were two men of the Ash'aris - one on my right and the other on my left - who were seeking to be appointed as officials. I said: 'By the One Who sent you as a Prophet (ﷺ) with the truth, they did not tell me why they wanted to come with me and I did not realize that they were seeking to be appointed as officials.' And I could see his Siwak beneath his lip, then it slipped and he said: 'We do not' - or; 'We will never appoint as an official anyone who seeks that. Rather you should go.'" So he sent his (Abu Musa) to Yemen, then he sent Mu'adh bin Jabal to go after him - may Allah be pleased with them.”

Maneeha is a Good Deed of Charity

'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنه) narrated that Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

“There are forty good qualities (virtuous deeds) and the best of them is the Maneeha of a she-goat, and anyone who does one of these virtuous deeds hoping for Allah's reward with firm confidence that he will get it, then Allah will make him enter Paradise because of it.” [Al-Bukhari]

Hassan ibn 'Atiyyah (the narrator of the Hadeeth from Abu Kabshah) said:

"We counted the matters (good acts) which are less than the Maneeha of a she-goat, such as: answering the greetings, invoking Allah's mercy for someone who sneezes, removing harmful objects from the road, and the like, but we could not count even fifteen qualities." [Fath al-Baari]

Maneeha is basically lending something to someone for temporary benefit, without losing the right of its ownership. This is a meritorious act. The Maneeha could be a sort of gift in the form of a she-camel or she-goat which is given to someone temporarily so that he may benefit from its milk. Then the animal is returned to its owner.

An example of Maneeha nowadays could be lending one's car to someone with a full tank of fuel, or a printer along with hefty ink supply or a computer, etc. All these can be lent with a condition to be returned to its owner after an appointed period.

Another example of Maneeha which is reported by at-Tirmidhi and others: Al-Baraa' ibn Aazib (رضي الله عنه) narrated that he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say:

“Whoever gives a Maneeha of milk (i.e. a she-goat or cow and so forth which gives milk), or a Maneeha of silver [i.e. gives silver to make a business with it (to trade in) then returns the bases to the owner after an appointed period decided by the twol, or guides (a person) to the right way, that is equivalent to the manumission of a slave.

And whoever says: 'La ilaaha illa Allaah, Wahdahu laa Sharika Lahu, Lahul-Mulku wa Lahul-Hamdu, wa Huwa 'ala Kulli Shay'in Qadeer,' it will be for him as if he manumitted a slave.” [ Saheeh at-Targheeb no.1535 and graded Saheeh]

Accordingly, the Sunnah of Maneeha is a very high (noble) Sunnah which the religion of Islam exhorts the believers to adopt and spread in their communities.

Being content with what Allāh has provided is a treasure that not too many people have. Contentment in today's greedy materialistic world is a scarce commodity (no pun intended). As Muslims, we should be at the forefront of those who promote and practice such a world view.

When one is satisfied with what Allāh has provided, then the riches of this life no longer become desirable, and trying to make money by questionable means will not even be an option, and one will not slave away for the mighty dollar at the expense of the faith.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ has foretold the time in which we live, a time in which the nations will gather upon us and invite each other as people would invite each other for food, such that each enemy will take a piece of our community and devour it, and our nation would become as insignificant as the froth of the sea, and that our enemies will no longer fear us, and worst of all, Allāh will cast al-Wahn, that is, weakness into our hearts.

What is this al-Wahn? Loving this life and hating to die and meet Allāh, the Exalted, the Most High.

We have reached this time, and we are living it daily and experiencing it, many Muslims around the world are suffering at the hands of our enemies, both inside and out, and yet, many of us who are living relatively comfortable and safe lives are suffering from al-Wahn, we want to make our livelihood in ways which are against Islām, we want to purchase our houses by dealing with Ribā (interest), we want to do business in dishonest and unethical ways to more or less get rich overnight.

How bad of an expectation does one have when the expectation is that the only way that Allāh will provide sustenance is from means which Allāh has prohibited in the first place!

How miserable is the slave of the dollar, indeed, but most people know not.

Enjoining good and forbidding evil are duties that do concern a believer and are obligatory upon them. However, what does not concern them is getting involved in matters that they should not interfere with or inquire about, such as being overly curious about a neighbor's affairs, asking about their personal life or family matters, and the like—things that go against the excellence of a person's Islam. A Muslim is someone from whom other Muslims are safe from his tongue and hand, meaning that he should refrain from harming others and not interfere in their affairs or matters that do not concern him.

The current liberal thinking is Mind Your Own Buisness, and stop Judging people, whereas `Umar bin Al-Khattab (ra) said:

People were judged by the revealing of a Divine Inspiration during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle but now there is no longer any more (new revelation). Now we judge you by the deeds you practice publicly, so we will trust and favor the one who does good deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he claims that his intentions were good.

Narrated by Abū Ruqayyah Tamīm ibn Aws al-Dārī (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Prophet [may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him] said: ‘This religion is naṣīḥah [sincerely desiring that which is good for another]. We said: ‘To whom O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘ To Allāh the Exalted in Might, His book, His Prophet [may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him], to the leaders of the believers and to the general populace.’

PEOPLE GET RULERS THEY DESERVE.

🎓Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله

“Ponder upon the Hikmah (Wisdom) of Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala ) where He has made people’s leaders, kings and those of authority over them, the same kind as their own deeds. It is as if the people’s deeds appeared in the form of their kings and leaders. If the people are upright, then their kings and rulers will be upright, and if they turn away (from uprightness), then their leaders will turn against them. And if they oppress and tyrannize, then their kings and rulers will tyrannize and oppress.

And if deception and treachery becomes manifest amongst them, then the same will appear in their rulers. If the people refrain from fulfilling the rights of Allah upon them and become niggardly (regarding their execution), then their kings and rulers will refuse to give them their rights and will become niggardly (withhold their rights from them). And if they take away from those whom they oppress that which they deserve not to take, then the kings will take away from the people that which they deserve not to take and will levy taxes and impose tasks upon them.

And whatever the people unjustly take from the oppressed, their kings take the same by force from them. So those in charge of the people appear in the forms of their (the ruled) deeds. And it befits not the Divine Wisdom that the evil and wicked be ruled except by those of the same kind. And since the early [Muslims] were the best and most righteous of generations, their rulers were of the same standing. But when the people turned weak, their rulers turned to be of their own rank.

So it befits not the Hikmah (Wisdom) of Allah in these times that rulers the like of Mu’aawiyah and Umar bin Abdulaziz, be in charge over us, and even less the like of Abu Bakr and Umar. Rather, our rulers are in accordance with our own rank and standing, and the ones who ruled those before us were (also) in accordance with these people own rank and standing. And both matters (the status of the former rulers and those of this time) are as necessitated and entailed by [Allah’s] Hikmah"

Can you imagine?

We are living in a time when all the sins of the earlier generations have come together - the sins of the people of Noah, Firaun, Loot, Haamaan, and Qaaroon, yet Allaah تعالى is merciful to all of us.

We are living in an age that seems worse than Jaahiliyyah, but the scary thing is that Allaah تعالى will not send another Prophet or Messenger to guide us or rectify our affairs!

And scarier than this is that the people are arguing, questioning, doubting, and denying the very foundation of this Deen!

People do not care about the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, except those upon whom our Lord has mercy.

May Allaah have mercy on us and rectify our affairs. The most clear Aayah that describes our situation is:

اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ
{Mankind’s reckoning has drawn near, while they turn away in heedlessness}
[Surah al-Anbiyaa (21):1]

More than 1,400 years have passed since this Aayah was revealed, and the passing of every moment is bringing us closer and closer to the Day of Judgment, yet we are drowning in our heedlessness.

As the poet said:
People are in their heedlessness...
…while the millstone of death is grinding.

Shaikh al-Sa
dee رحمه الله commented on this Aayah, saying:
“This is an expression of amazement at people’s attitude and at the fact that no reminder moves them, and they do not pay any attention to any warner, for their reckoning has drawn near and the requital for their deeds, both good and bad, is at hand, but they are turning away in heedlessness, paying no attention to the purpose for which they were created, ignoring that of which they have been warned as if they were created for this world and were born merely to enjoy physical pleasures therein. Allaah keeps renewing the reminder and exhortation to them, but they persist in their negligence and turning away.” [1]

A lot of people are living in heedlessness and ignorance. Many people are behaving like there is no questioning in the grave, no Resurrection, no Judgment, no Reckoning, that they will not be held accountable to Allaah سبحانه وتعالى for their actions!

In our time, there has been an ever increase in the number of men who behave like Dayyooth (cuckold) [2]. Immorality, foolishness, chaos, disorder, confusion, and ignorance are on the rise. There are women who are behaving like men and men who are behaving like women!

May Allaah have mercy on us, we should ever increase in our supplication:

يَا مُقَلِّبَ القُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قُلُوبُنَا عَلَى دِينِكَ
❝O Controller of the hearts, keep our hearts firm upon Your religion.❞ [3]

O Allaah! Grant us a good end.

O Allaah! Forgive us, have mercy on us, and rectify our affairs.

May Allaah show us the truth as truth and help us to follow it. And may Allaah show us the falsehood as falsehood and help us to shun it.

Notes:
[1] Tafseer al-Sa`dee

[2] Dayyooth (a man with no protective jealousy for his wife/daughter/sister. He is the one who approves of evil conduct in his family. He allows them to intermingle with non-Mahram men. He sees them doing something objectionable but does not feel bad or stop them.)

The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝There are three at whom Allaah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection:
1) The one who disobeys his parents,
2) the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance,
3) and the Dayyooth (cuckold).
And there are three who will not enter Paradise:
1) The one who disobeys his parents,
2) the drunkard,
3) and the one who reminds people of what he has given them.❞

[3] Sunan al-Tirmidhee and Sunan Ibn Maajah, and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Anas رضي الله عنه narrated that Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ used to say this quite frequently.

AL-HASAN رضي الله عنه  ruled for (6) months and he did not celebrate the Prophet’s birthday!

MUAAWIYAH رضي الله عنه  ruled for (19) years and he did not celebrate the Prophet’s birthday!

Then came al-Umawiyyah dynasty and amongst them were the likes of UMAR Ibn Abdul-Azeez, and they did not celebrate the Prophet’s birthday!

After them came al-Abbaasiyyah dynasty and amongst them were the likes of HAROON al-Rasheed, and they did not celebrate the Prophet’s birthday!

The great and real scholars of Islaam and the true lovers of the Prophet ﷺ did not celebrate the Prophet’s birthday!

The great generations of Islaam passed away but none of them celebrated the Prophet’s birthday.

HAD IT BEEN GOOD, THEY WOULD HAVE INDEED PRECEDED US IN IT!

Virtues of Loving and Aiding Others

On the authority of Abu Hamzah Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) — the servant of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself.”

[Al-Bukhari][Muslim]

Just a single repentance can bring you back to Allah.

It is upsetting to see many people, who claims to be a 'MUSLIM' yet their doings and mannerisms are from what they appear as. In reality, when it comes to western education, they are in race to achieve the profession they want to have— to the point that they already forgot their Deen, without realizing that those achievements will not benefit them to their afterlife. SubhanAllāh al-Atheem.

In a world that often glorifies hustle culture and the constant competition for worldly achievements, it's important as Muslims to stay grounded and prioritize what truly matters, and that's our Akhirah.

Instead of getting caught up in the rat race of this Dunya, we should focus on nurturing our faith, seeking knowledge, and embodying the values and the teachings of Islam — inline with the Qur'ān and Sunnah. It is about finding a balance between our worldly pursuits and our hereafter.

Always put in mind that nothing in this Dunya belongs to us and we should not get attached to it, rather we should prepare for the hereafter, instead of following the doings of the Kuffar that is USELESS and will put us in Jahannam.

Let us strive to excel in both our worldly endeavors and our commitment to Islam, knowing that our true success lies in the pleasure of Allah.
