A man said to al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī:

“What do you say about the Khawārij?”

He replied: “They are people of the dunya.”

The man said: “How can you say that, when one of them walks into spears until they break within him, leaving behind his family and children?”

Al-Ḥasan said: “Tell me about the ruler — does he prevent you from establishing prayer, giving zakāh, performing ḥajj and ʿumrah?”

He said: “No.”

Al-Ḥasan replied: “Then I see that he has only prevented you from the world, and you fought him over it.”

Patience and Perseverance

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: One of the sons of Abu Talhah (May Allah be pleased with him) was ailing. Abu Talhah went out and the boy died in his absence. When he came back, he inquired, "How is the boy?". Umm Sulaim, the mother of the boy, replied, "Better than before". Then she placed his evening meal before him and he ate it; and thereafter slept with her. At last, she said to him: "Arrange for the burial of the boy". In the morning, Abu Talhah went to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and informed him of the event. He enquired, "Did you sleep together last night?" Abu Talhah replied in the affirmative, on which the Prophet (ﷺ) supplicated, "O Allah bless them." Thereafter, she gave birth to a boy. Abu Talhah said to me: "Take up the boy and carry him to the Prophet (ﷺ)"; and he sent some dates with him. The Prophet (ﷺ) enquired, "Is there anything with him?" He said; "Yes, some dates". The Prophet (ﷺ) took a date, chewed it and put it in the mouth of the baby and rubbed the chewed date around the baby's gum and named him 'Abdullah.
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The narration in Bukhari adds: Ibn 'Uyainah relates that a man from the Ansar told him that he had seen nine sons of this 'Abdullah, every one of whom had committed the Noble Qur'an to memory.

The narration of Muslim says: The son of Abu Talhah (May Allah be pleased with him) who was born of Umm Sulaim died. She (Umm Sulaim) said to the members of the family: "Do not tell Abu Talhah about his son until I mention it to him myself." Abu Talhah came (home) and she gave him supper. He ate and drank. She then beautified herself the best way she ever did and he slept with her. When she saw that he was satisfied after sexual intercourse with her, she said, "O Abu Talhah! If some people borrow something from another family and then (the members of the family) ask for its return, would they refuse to give it back to them." He said, "No". She said, "Then hope reward for your son". Abu Talhah got angry, and said; "You left me uninformed until I stained myself (with sexual intercourse) and then you told me about my son. "He went to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and informed him about the matter. Thereupon Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "May Allah bless the night you spent together!" He (the narrator) said: She conceived. (One day) Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in the course of a journey and she was along with him. When Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to come back to Al-Madinah from a journey, he would not enter it (during the night). When the people came near Al- Madinah, she felt labour pains. He (Abu Talhah) remained with her and Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) proceeded on. Abu Talhah said: "O Rubb, You know that I love to go along with Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he goes out and enter along with him when he enters, and I have been detained as You see." Umm Sulaim then said: "O Abu Talhah, I do not feel (so much pain) as I was feeling earlier, so we better proceed on. So we proceeded on and she felt the labour of delivery as they reached (Al-Madinah). She gave birth to a male child. My mother said to me: "O Anas, none should suckle him until you go to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) tomorrow morning." The next morning I carried the baby with me to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and narrated the rest of the story.

Sit only with people who talks about the realities of life, business, personal growth, and most importantly, the Deen. Surely, You'll notice how much better your life will be.
And don’t sit with people who just speak negatively about others. You see? There are so many topics to discuss without bringing up other people's life; you just have to find the right circle. May Allah (swt) bless you all with beautiful souls.💎

NEVER BEFRIEND AN INNOVATOR (MUB'TADIH), FOR SURE IT WILL BE NOTICED.

Indeed, the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi
-wasallam) said:

“A person is upon the deen of his friend, so let each of you look at whom he befriends’’ [Al-
Ibaanah: 2/439].

Ibn Mas-ood (radiyallaahu-anhu) said: Indeed a person walks alongside and accompanies the one he loves and who is like him’’ [Al-Ibaanah: 2/476].

Al-A’mash (rahimahullaah) said: ‘’They (salaf) did not used to ask anything more about a person after having asked about three affairs: 1. Who he walks with,
2. Who he enters upon (i.e. visits) and
3. Who he associates with amongst the people.’’ [Al-Ibaanah: 2/478].

|You may try and hide your innovation from us, but you cannot hide your companionship from us | By the illustrious Shaykh, Ahmad Ibn Yahya Al Najmi (rahimahullah).

Questioner:

The second narration; al-‘Awzā’ī [rahimahullah] said, as it is in the book ‘al-Ibānah’ by ibn al-Battah; ‘Whoever hides his innovations from us, [will not be able to] hide his companions from us.’

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:

“This is clear. ‘Whoever hides his innovations from us, [will not be able to] hide his companions from us.’ Meaning – if he hides his innovations, then his companion – the people whom he befriends and is inclined to, will make clear for by them that he is an innovator. That is, if he befriends and inclines towards innovators, then from this, it will be clear that he is an innovator.”

Questioner:

A question O’ Shaykh. Is it understood from this narration, that if the condition and madḥab [methodology] of an individual is not known, yet his sittings and mingling are with the people of desires and innovation, then he is regarded as an innovator and allied to them?

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:

Yes, this is so. They [the Salaf] said, ‘His entering, companions and acquaints of the people clarifies [his methodology]. Meaning – his entering, if he entered upon a people from the people of innovation, then it is known that he is an innovator. When the Ahlul-Hadith would hear of the coming of an individual whom they did not know of his sound creed or methodology, or if he want an innovator. So one of scholars in their time would say ‘Look at who he enters upon, frequents and befriends..’ or along these lines. So it becomes known thereafter that he entered upon the innovators and befriended them.”

Questioner:

The third narration. When Sufyan ath-Thawrī (rahimahullah) entered al-Basrah, he looked at the affair of ar-Rabī ibn Subayh and his status with the people. He asked about his methodology and they said his methodology was none but the Sunnah. So he asked, who does he accompany? They said, the people of Qadr. So he said, he is a Qadri. He said, as long as his companions are the people of Qadr, he is a Qadarī.

Is it understood from this narration that if an individual outwardly manifests the Sunnah, and calls to the anoscription to it, but his sittings are with the people of innovation and desire, then certainly he is aligned to them due to his sittings with them?

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
Yes, Yes.

Questioner:

The fourth narration, Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd al-Ghalābī said, ‘The people of desires hide everything except their companions and friends.’

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
Yes. This [his companions] clarifies his [methodology], meaning this [methodology] becomes apparent by way of them.

Questioner:

The Esteemed Imām, Abū Abdullah Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal said, ‘If a man greets an innovator, then he loves him.’

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:

‘If a man greets an innovator, then he loves him.’ – certainly to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and he is the best disposer of affairs (for us). This is clear.

Questioner:

Shaykh, is this unconditionally?

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
By Allah, the statements of the Salaf placed in their [rightful] places. However the people of this era have become lenient.

Questioner:

Yes O’ Shaykh.Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:Yes.

Ibn Mas’ūd (radiAllahuanhu) said, ‘Certainly a man walks and befriends those whom he loves and are like him.’

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
Maa shaa Allah! May Allah be glorified – meaning, their statements will be in agreement. ‘Certainly a man walks and befriends those whom he loves and are like him.’ Those who are not like him, then no doubt there will occur between them some differences and friction which will cause their to friendship discontinue in the end.

Questioner;

Yes O’ Shaykh. Imām ibn Baṭṭah al-Ukbari said after mentioning the narration of the Prophet ﷺ,

‘Whichever one of you hears of the arrival of the Dajjal should go distant himself from him as possible. Certainly a man will come to him whilst considering himself a believer, and he will continue doing so until he follows him due to the doubts he see.’

He said, this is the statement of the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhiwa sallam) and he is the Trustworthy and Upright. So I swear by Allah ﷻ and [again] I swear by Allah O’ Muslims, let not the good thought you have of yourselves and the knowledge of the correct methodology you possess, carry him to risk his religion by sitting with the people of desires. So he says, ‘I will enter upon him and debate with him, or I will make him leave his manhaj’ for certainly this fitnah is greater than the Dajjal.

Their speech sticks stronger than scabies, and it burns their hearts greater than flames. And I have seen a group of people who used to curse and revile the People of Desires. Then they went and sat with them in order to contest with them and refute them. Then the cheerful, open attitude, the hidden deception and the subtle disbelief continued until they became inclined towards them.” [Al-Ibānah (2/470)]

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
We seek refuge in Allah – we ask Allah ﷻ for safety and protection. This is a statement of truth.

Questioner:

Yes O’ Shaykh, does this narration imply a refutation of the one who mixes with the Hizbiyīn. Qutbuyīn, Surūriyīn under the excuses of advising them?

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
Yes, this is a proof against them.

Questioner:

Shaykh, is [it okay] for one of them to promise an individual from them, so he sits and mixes with them, and when he is condemned for he makes the excuses that he is advising them?

Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá an-Najmī:
Allah ﷻ is sufficient for us. This is considered hypocrisy. If he says such a thing whilst he is in opposition to it [his speech], then this hypocrisy.”

Stay patient in these times of turmoil and hardship, and you'll be given the reward of 50 sahaba.

The Prophet (ﷺ) stated,

“Ahead of you are days of patience, when holding onto the religion will be like holding onto hot coals, and whomsoever holds onto His religion in that time, then his reward will be the reward of fifty men.” The Companions said, “O Messenger of Allah, fifty times the worth of their reward?” He said, “Rather fifty from you.”

Collected by Abu Dawood, At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Mājah, Al-Hākim who declared it authentic, Adh-Dhahabi agreed and Al-Albāni declared it Saheeh in As-Saheehah (no. 494).

The Magnitude Of Allāh's Throne !! Subḥān Allāh !!

‎قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : ما السماوات السبع في الكرسي إلا كحلقة ملقاة بأرض فلاة ، وفضل العرش على الكرسي كفضل تلك الفلاة على تلك الحلقة.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “The seven heavens with the Kursee (of Allāh) in comparison are nothing except like a ring thrown in the desert and the Throne of Allāh compared to the Kursee is like that desert compared to that ring.”

‎● [رواه ابن حبان في صحيحه ٢/٧٦ رقم ٣٦١]

Sh. Ibn al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said in its explanation: “Kursee linguistically means 'A chair or whatever is sat upon’ as for the Kursee that Allāh associates with Himself, it is the place of Allāh’s Two Feet,

It is authentically narrated from Ibn 'Abbās رضي الله عنهما in al-Mustadrak that he said: 'The Kursee of Allāh is the place of (His) Two Feet and the 'Arsh (Throne of Allāh), none can perceive its proportion except Allāh, the Mighty and Honorable’.”

When life doesn’t go as planned…

You studied hard, but still didn’t get the marks you needed. You gave your best in that interview, but didn’t get the job. Maybe it’s something related to marriage that didn’t work out. Or a project, a dream, or a friendship you invested in — but it all just… fell apart.

In those moments, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of
“If only I had this & that...”
“If I had done this & that..”
“If only things were different..”
“If only I hadn’t trusted them..”
And So on. Wallahu al Mustaan

But as Muslims, we don’t live in the world of “if” Nor are we allowed to say such things. We live in reality of Qadr - the Divine Decree of Allah سبحانه و تعالى.

We do our part.
We try, we plan, we put in the effort, & make dua. But when things don’t go way we hoped, we don’t dwell in regret or endlessly blame this & that, causing ourselves further stress.

Instead, remind yourself that Allah knows best, even when we don’t understand. & We just simply say:
قَدَّرَ اللّٰهُ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ
"Qaddar Allahu wa mā shā’a faʿal"
(Allah has decreed, and whatever He wills, He does.)

And we move on. That’s it.
With sabr & tawakkul in Allah’s plan.

And it’s completely normal to fall into such (“if”) thoughts. Even sometimes, I find myself falling into them, Wallāhu Al-Mustan. But we must keep reminding ourselves & check on ourselves regularly. May Allah سبحانه و تعالى protect us all from this grave (Sin) mistake. Ameen.
