NARRATING A HADITH, Hadhrat Abduah Ibn Abbaas (Radhiyallahu anhu) said:

“There will dawn an age over the people when they shall go for Hajj and Umrah in abundance without (a sincere) niyyat. The world will gush on them. They will indulge in sport and amusement. Travelling will become light for them. His (the one who goes for Hajj/Umrah) neighbour will be hungry or naked or in debt.

His (the one going for Hajj/Umrah) camel will race with him across wastelands and deserts, whilst verily, he leaves behind his brother in (financial) distress and without assisting him with money. Meanwhile they will proclaim that they have spent thousands.

‘But Allah accepts from only the Muttaqeen.”

This Hadith beautifully attests to the truth of Rasulullah’s Nubuwwat. One of the evidences for the truth of Nubuwwat is the materialization of the Nabi’s predictions. The Hadith vividly depicts the condition of Muslims in times in close proximity to Qiyaamah.

The specific sign of Qiyaamah described in this Hadith is the bogey of false hajj and umrah which people undertake for worldly, nafsaani and corrupt motives. Reflect on this Hadith, and you will not fail to discern its 100% applicability to the multitudes of people going for ‘hajj’ and ‘umrah’ in this age.

Let us examine the Hadith and understand its reference to the hajj/umrah fashion of our time.

Hajj and Umrah in abundance, millions and millions of people are travelling to Makkah all round the year ostensibly to perform Hajj and Umrah. The abundance of juhala, fussaaq, fujjaar and slaves of the nafs and dunya has created chaos and anarchy right inside the Haramain Shareefain. The atmosphere and environment of the Haramain and of the Haram are polluted with physical and spiritual contamination. The sanctity of the Holy Places is being defiled by haraam, fisq and fujoor.

Total intermingling of sexes, ‘zaanis and ‘zaaniyahs’ parading in the Haram, an epidemic of haraam photography, mockery of Salaat, noise and rowdyism in the Haram, men and women physically brushing against one another, professional begging, scholars for dollars sitting right inside the Haram engaging in haraam commercial dealings such as getting customers for iqaamah permits, etc., etc.

Without sincere Niyyat the droves of people proceeding for Nafl Umrah and Nafl Hajj go for a variety of corrupt reasons. People a willing to spend tens of thousands of rands on Nafl Umrah but hardly read 2 Rak’aats of Nafl Salaah in their daily lives at home.

According to another Hadith their intentions will be commercial, monetary, touring, holidaying, begging and riya (show/ ostentation). The proof for the corrupt intentions is that most people who go to Makkah and Madinah, spend exceedingly little time in Ibaadat in the Haramain Shareefain.

They waste their times in the haraam kuffaar-style malls, etc. They indulge in gluttony, devouring carrion and just every haraam junk ‘foodtsuff’ the West dumps into the Holy Cities with the blessings of the current corrupt, fussaaq/ fujjaar Saudi regime. When they return from their hajj/umrah holidays, they come back morally more debased than their earlier condition prior to the holiday umrah trip.

Indulgence in amusement to fulfil the corrupt and bestial desires of the dishonest frauds who go ostensibly for hajj/umrah, the Saudi regime has transformed the Holy Cities into filthy westernized holiday resorts. The haraam malls and amusement centres prepared specifically for the multitudes of people ostensibly arriving for hajj/umrah are the fulfilment of the prediction stated in the Hadith: “They will indulge in play and amusement.”

Travelling will become light relative to the arduous journeys of the camel age, is the comfortable air travel. Never ever could people fourteen centuries ago travelling on camels comprehend the meaning of ‘travel becoming light’. This statement of the Hadith refers to plane travel.
Neighbour – hungry, naked and in debt Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) in this statement draws attention to the callousness of those who undertake ‘hajj’ and ‘umrah’ amusement tours. While they spend hundreds of thousands of rands for the tour, their neighbours and other poor Muslims are struggling to make ends meet. Innumerable Muslims are suffering and struggling for food, clothes and to pay their debts. Without a care or a feeling for the suffering Muslims, the tourists proceed on their journey of play and amusement in the name of hajj and umrah. This is the stark reality of the time.

Billionaire traders will go for umrah holidays twice and even thrice a year, squander tens of thousands of rands in hotel accommodation and pleasure pursuits whilst Muslims in their community are struggling to make ends meet, and whilst they pay their working staff a pittance as wages. They can waste hundreds of thousands in holidaying, but lack the little spiritual stamina of the heart to upgrade the living standards of their workers, both in their business and in their homes. Their hearts are like stone or harder.

“His (the one going for Hajj/Umrah) camel will race with him across wastelands and deserts, whilst verily, he leaves behind his brother in (financial) distress and without assisting him with money. Meanwhile they will proclaim that they have spent thousands. ‘But Allah accepts from only the Muttaqeen.”

The “racing of the camel across wastelands and deserts” depicts air-travel. How swiftly does the plane traverse across deserts, wastelands and oceans! While these imposter pilgrims will proudfully proclaim the huge amounts they squander in their haraam holiday journeys to the Holy Cities, their brethren will be grieving in suffering and debt. They will waste hundreds of thousands, but never will it occur to them to pay the debts of struggling Muslims.

On the contrary, they will press and harass their debtors, and conduct themselves like robots in their businesses, devoid of mercy, feeling and pity for the poor, their debtors and their workers. They just lack the taufeeq to increase the wages which the huge amounts annually squandered on haraam trips can easily accommodate.

They should remember that their mock umrahs are struck into their faces with rejection and wrath. Allah Ta’ala accepts only the efforts of the Muttaqeen, and the Muttaqeen do not waste and squander like shayaateen on haraam.

“In fact man has insight over himself, even though he puts forth excuses.”

The Prophet ﷺ warned us: “There will come a time when people won’t care where their wealth comes from — whether it’s Halal or Haram.”

And I can’t help but feel… that time is now.

We live in a world where anything that brings fast cash is glorified. People joke about scams. Business deals are praised even if they're shady. Music, riba, unethical marketing, lies — all swept under the rug if the paycheck is big enough.

But where is the barakah?

Where is the peace?

True success isn’t in how much we earn — it’s in how we earn it. Because no amount of money is worth trading your akhirah for.

Islamically and ethically, we are allowed to speak out against injustice, especially when we’ve been harmed.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is oppressed.”
They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, we help the oppressed, but how do we help the oppressor?”
He replied: “By preventing him from oppressing others.” (Bukhari)

The Muslim community often protects the abuser and punishes the woman for speaking up.

When a woman is:
• Emotionally abused
• Lied to, cheated on
• Neglected spiritually, sexually, or financially
• Manipulated using religious guilt

…and she finds the courage to speak up, she’s met with:
• “Don’t expose your husband.”
• “Be patient, sister.”
• “Maybe if you were more obedient…”
• “Stay silent for the sake of the children.”

But no one tells the man:
• “Fear Allah in how you treat your wife.”
• “You’re accountable for your betrayal.”
• “This is dhulm (oppression), and Allah does not love the oppressors.”
• “You broke your covenant with Allah and her.”

🧕🏽 Let me be clear:
Silencing a woman who is emotionally, mentally, or spiritually abused is not Islam.
It’s communal complicity.
It’s cultural cowardice.
It’s the protection of patriarchy, not the preservation of family.

The Prophet ﷺ never stood with the oppressor. He stood with the wounded, the silenced, the betrayed.
And He warned us:

“Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

🚩This is spiritual abuse.

It’s when your pain is invalidated using religion.
It’s when betrayal is justified with ayat about patience.
It’s when men break their covenants, but women are told to protect their husband’s honor—even when their own honor is being shredded.

💡 Let’s be clear:
• Speaking about betrayal is not backbiting—it’s called truth-telling.
• Holding someone accountable is not disobedience—it’s justice.
• Your emotions are not a sign of weak iman—they are a sign you’re human.

🦚At Haqq Life Solutions:

We help women reclaim their voice, their truth, and their God-given right to live in safety, dignity, and emotional honesty.

Because Islam does not support abuse.
And silence is not the solution.
Healing is.

Ibn al-Qayyim (‎رحمه الله): Who Should You Complain To?

❝It is truly an ignorant person who complains about Allāh to people. Such a person has displayed the deepest depths of ignorance concerning both Allāh and people: if he truly knew Allāh, he would never complain about Him; if he truly understood people, he would never complain to them.

One of the pious predecessors saw a person complaining to another about his desperate state of affairs and commented, ‘What have you achieved besides complaining to someone who will not show you mercy, leaving the One who will?’

When you complain to the son of Adam
You have left the Merciful for one who is not.

Someone who truly knows Allāh will only ever complain to Him. Amongst this category of people, the best is the person who complains to Allāh, not about other people, but about himself (and his spiritual condition). This person has grasped the real reason behind his difficulties and is looking to His words, “Any disaster that strikes you is because of what your own hands have done,” (Q42:30) “Any bad things that happen to you [ultimately] come from yourself,” (Q4:79) “Why is it that when a calamity happens to you, when you have already inflicted twice as much, you say, ‘How could this possibly happen?’ Say, ‘You brought it upon yourselves.’” (Q3:165)

Therefore, there are three levels of people: the meanest is the person who complains about Allah to people, the most sublime is the person who complains about himself to Allāh, and middlemost is the person who complains about other people to Allāh.❞

The Angel of Death came to Nūh عليه السلام and said:

O longest-lived of the Prophets, how did you find this world and it's pleasures?

*He said:* Like a man who entered a room with two doors, and he stood in the middle of the room for a brief moment, then he went out of the other door.

Bukhoor and its uses: keeping it sunnah

Bukhoor is mubāh (permissible) and often recommended

The Salaf based on narrations used fragrance or incense on Jumu’ah (Friday)

From Ibn ‘Umar (Radiallahu Anhu)

“The Prophet Sallahu Allayhi Wasalam used to wear perfume on Fridays.”
- Sahih Al Bukhari, 910

It may be used to perfume the masjid or clothes on the day of Jumu’ah

Scholar opinions:

Sheikh Ibn Baz: There is nothing wrong with perfuming the mosque with incense (Bukhoor) as long as there is no harm.” - Fatawa Nur Ala Al-Darb

Bukhoor is often used in cultural gatherings and is often seen as a sign of respect for guests in the Middle East and Arabian Peninsula.

However claiming it helps for spiritual cleansing, ruqyah, evil eye, jinn, this is biddah. There is also no valid evidence in the sunnah.

"This is forbidden. It is not permissible to use bukhoor to drive away the jinn-this has not been mentioned. The jinn are repelled by seeking refuge with Allah, reciting the Qur'an, and remembering Allah. As for bukhoor, there is no basis for this, rather it is a bid'ah (innovation)."

Whether you live a single day or a hundred years, it will feel like a day or part of a day. That’s how the Almighty describes this world in the Qur’an. It’s short. It’s temporary. It’s an illusion.

“Allah will say, ‘How long did you remain on earth in number of years?’ They will say, ‘We remained a day or part of a day; ask those who enumerate.’”
— [Surah Al-Mu’minun, 23:112-113]

This dunya is not the goal — it’s the test. Every day we erode. Every day, we are just a number ticking down, day by day, step by step, closer to our end.

So work for the day that truly matters — the day your soul departs and your real journey begins.#islamicreminder #everysoulshalltastedeath

"Accompany the brothers of truthfulness (sidq) and live under their wing, for they are an adornment in times of ease (rakha') and an asset in times of calamity (bala').

Think the best about your brother unless he comes to you with something that angers you.

Stay away from your enemy. Be cautious with your friend except for those who are trusted (amin), and no one is trusted save those who fear Allah.

Do not accompany a sinner (fajir) and learn from his sinfulness as a result, and do not tell him your secrets.

"SECRET OF WINNERS

In the jungle:
1. The Elephant is the biggest;
2. The Giraffe is the tallest;
3. The Fox is the wisest; and
4. The Cheetah is the fastest;

Yet, the Lion is the KING of the jungle even without ANY of these qualities.

Why?

Because:
1. The Lion is courageous, is bold, walks with confidence, dares anything and is never afraid.
2. The Lion believes it is unstoppable.
3. The Lion is a risk taker.
4. The Lion believes any animal is food for him.
5. The Lion believes any opportunity is worth giving a trial and never lets it slip from its hands.

So...
1. You don't need to be the fastest.
2. You don't need to be the wisest.
3. You don't need to be the smartest.
4. You don't need to be the most brilliant.
5. All you need is courage
6. All you need is the will to try.
7. All you need is the faith to believe it is possible.
8. All you need is to believe in yourself, that you can do it.!!
The Lion sleeps for 20 hours & works for 4 hours & yet eats meat.

But the elephant works for 24 hours & eats grass.

Your life's strategy matters most in your approach to circumstances & situations for you to be a champion or winner always.

Stay in the Lion's mood! That's the mood for winners."

Be optimistic !

The believers should be optimistic and not pessimistic or cynical. There are no omens in Islam (or signs that predict the future), but the believers are always expecting the best from Allah even if they do not know exactly how it will be.

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

لَا طِيَرَةَ وَخَيْرُهَا الْفَأْلُ

There are no omens, but the best of it is optimism.

They said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is optimism?” The Prophet said:

الْكَلِمَةُ الصَّالِحَةُ يَسْمَعُهَا

A righteous word one of you hears.

In another narration, the Prophet said:

وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَسَنَةُ الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ

I am amazed by optimism, the good word, the kind word.
