🌊 THE 9 SIGNS OF MUSA 🌊

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim:

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسۡعَ ءَایَـٰتِۭ بَیِّنَـٰتࣲۖ

101. And indeed We gave to Musa nine clear signs. (...) [Qur'an, 17:101]
____

Imam Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) said:

"Allah tells us that He sent Musa [Moses] (alayhi salaam) with nine clear signs, which provided proof that his prophethood was real and that what he was conveying from the One Who had sent him to Fir'awn [Pharaoh] was true.

These clear signs were:

His staff, his hand, the years of famine, the sea, the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs and the blood.

This was the view of Ibn 'Abbas (radiAllahu anhu).

[Tafsir At-Tabari (Vol. 17, pag. 564)]

Muhammad Ibn Ka'b said:

"They were his hand and his staff, the five signs mentioned in [Surah] Al-A'raf, and destruction of wealth and the rock."

[Tafsir At-Tabari (Vol. 17, pag. 565)]

Ibn 'Abbas, Mujahid, 'Ikrimah, Ash-Sha'bi and Qatadah said:

"They are his hand, his staff, the years of famine, the failure of the crops, the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs and the blood."

[Tafsir At-Tabari (Vol. 17, pag. 565-566)]

(...) Musa (alayhi salaam) was also given many other signs, such as striking the rock with his staff and water flowing from it, their being shaded with clouds, manna and quails, and other signs which were bestowed upon the Children of Israel after they had left the land of Egypt.

But here Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) mentions the nine signs which were witnessed by his people in Egypt.

These became evidence against them, because they stubbornly rejected them out of disbelief."

How to know your 🏠 is affected by evil 👀 :

1. Sudden Tension or Arguments
Constant fighting or heaviness between family members without any clear reason.
Shaykh Ibn Baz said: “Evil eye can affect homes, causing discord and discomfort.”

Unexplained Breakages or Damage
Things frequently breaking down, leaking, or malfunctioning without cause.
Ibn al-Qayyim (Zad al-Ma‘ad) mentioned that the evil eye can affect property, wealth, and homes just as it affects people.

3. Loss of Peace or Barakah
Feeling uneasy, restless, or spiritually “heavy” in the home.
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:102 — “...but they could not harm anyone except by Allah’s permission.”
Protection is through Qur’an, not charms or talismans.

4. Frequent Illness or Fatigue Among Family Members
Especially when medical checks show nothing serious.
Sahih Muslim (2188) — The Prophet ﷺ said: “The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye.”

5. Sudden Financial Losses or Blocked Rizq
When things suddenly go wrong after someone praised your home or possessions excessively.
Ibn Taymiyyah explained: “The evil eye can occur when a person admires something without saying Ma sha Allah, tabarak Allah.’”

6. Children Crying or Refusing to Sleep in the Home
Persistent crying or fear without reason, especially after guests visit or compliments are made.

7. Animals Acting Strangely
Pets becoming restless or frightened in specific areas of the house.
Scholars mention that even animals can be affected by the evil eye, as the Prophet ﷺ said it can affect “a person, an animal, or a thing.” (Musnad Ahmad 15550)

What to Do:

Recite Surah Al-Baqarah regularly (the Prophet ﷺ said it expels shaytan – Sahih Muslim 780).

Say Ma Sha Allah ,tabaraka Allah when people compliment your home.

Make Ruqyah using Qur’an (especially Surah Al-Falaq, An-Nas, and Ayat al-Kursi).

Keep dhikr alive in the home.

“Allaah says: ‘I am as My slave thinks of Me'”

Shaykh ‘Abd ur-Rahmaan al-‘Ajlaan (hafidhahullaah) comments:

“If he has good thoughts about Allaah, that he will be answered, then he will be answered bi’ithnillaah. But if he says ‘I don’t think I will be answered’ and the like, then he will be deprived of the answer – and refuge is sought in Allaah – because he did not have good thoughts of his Lord.”

Celebrities share everything with us, their spouses, their homes, their private moments, even childbirth is now public content.

We are living in strange times, a time when modesty is sold, honour and dignity are displayed, and sin is marketed under the name of “content” and “entertainment.”

Dancing, laughter, nudity, and shameless trends that attract thousands at the expense of decency and morality.

What’s worse is that an entire generation is watching, imitating, admiring, and wishing to become like them. Children, youth, boys and girls spending hours watching livestreams on social media.

They have forgotten the remembrance of Allah, distanced themselves from Him, and memorised the names of influencers and details of their lives.

What will we say to Allah when we stand before Him?
That we supported and followed those who openly disobeyed Him?
That we laughed with them, liked their posts, and gave them our views?

Allah says:
وَلا تُطِع مَن أَغفَلنا قَلبَهُ عَن ذِكرِنا وَاتَّبَعَ هَواهُ وَكانَ أَمرُهُ فُرُطًا
And do not obey those whose hearts We have made heedless of Our remembrance, who follow their desires and whose state is 'total' loss. (Surah Al-Kahf: 28)

No amount of guilt can change the past & no amount of worrying can change the future.

Go easy on yourself for the outcome of all affairs is determined by the decree of Allah.

If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come on your way, but if it is yours by destiny, from you it cannot flee (and you cannot flee from it).

*_When You Cry Alone, Allah Sees It_*

Not all tears are from pain —
some fall quietly out of love, fear, and longing for Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
_“Seven will be shaded by Allah on the Day when there is no shade but His… and among them — *a man who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes overflow with tears.”*_
Sahih al-Bukhari 1423 | Sahih Muslim 1031

No one may see you cry in sujood,
but Allah does — and He treasures those tears.

📌Every *tear shed for Him* will become *shade for you on the Day* when there is no other shade.

Al-Hasan al-Basree used to say:
"A believer combines between doing good deeds and fear [that his good deeds might not be accepted], whereas a hypocrite combines between evil deeds and hope [that he will be forgiven even if he did not repent]. He then recited: {Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord}”

When Prophet Yunus left his town and went aboard the ship to sail away from the disbelievers that he spent years trying to guide, the seas turned stormy. In the story we all know, the crew wanted to throw someone off the boat and they randomly drew a name – Yunus (aliyhis salam). When he was about to be thrown overboard by the other passengers, what were the possible outcomes? He was about to be thrown into the middle of a stormy sea, in the middle of the night. In all likelihood, he was going to die.

But he didn’t. A whale was sent by Allah to swallow him. And beneath all the darkness, he called upon Allah (swt) using words that are immortalized for us in the Qur'an:

“There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”

Can you imagine the fear and pain that Prophet Yunus (aliyhis salam) must have been experiencing in those moments? The physical pain of having the whale’s stomach acid burning through his skin, the emotional pain of being absolutely alone and not knowing if or when he’d be able to escape, and the spiritual pain of knowing that he disobeyed Allah by leaving his people without Allah’s permission.

But all that pain he was experiencing was still better than the alternative – dying in a state of disobeying Allah.

Sometimes when you experience painful events in your life, you can barely get your head above water. You want to drown in the darkness within you.

You might even think that your situation is the worst it could possibly be. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself – is Allah saving me from an even greater tragedy? Is He strengthening me through this difficulty so I can move forward as a better, stronger believer? Is this pain good for me, even if I don’t yet understand how or why?

“Perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not” {2:216}

To the pained Du'a of Yunus aliyhis salam, Allah responded:

“So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers” {21:88}.

He will respond to you, too. And what you gain from your distress, though you may not see it now, will be better and more beautiful than what you could've imagined
