“The person who places their forehead on the ground in sajdah (prostration), but does not place their nose, their sajdah is not complete. And this is not sufficient.”

‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه said:

No amount of guilt can change the past & no amount of worrying can change the future.

Go easy on yourself for the outcome of all affairs is determined by the decree of Allah.

If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come on your way, but if it is yours by destiny, from you it cannot flee (and you cannot flee from it).

*_When You Cry Alone, Allah Sees It_*

Not all tears are from pain —
some fall quietly out of love, fear, and longing for Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
_“Seven will be shaded by Allah on the Day when there is no shade but His… and among them — *a man who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes overflow with tears.”*_
Sahih al-Bukhari 1423 | Sahih Muslim 1031

No one may see you cry in sujood,
but Allah does — and He treasures those tears.

📌Every *tear shed for Him* will become *shade for you on the Day* when there is no other shade.

Al-Hasan al-Basree used to say:
"A believer combines between doing good deeds and fear [that his good deeds might not be accepted], whereas a hypocrite combines between evil deeds and hope [that he will be forgiven even if he did not repent]. He then recited: {Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord}”

[Tafseer al-Tabaree (17/68)]

Your deen is upon ur Akhlaq. No matter how much Qurān you know, how many Sunnāh & Nafl you fulfil, how much Islamic knowledge you have, if you lack basic Adhab & virtue, especially when it comes to the way you treat people, you lack the basic principles of Islam.

When Prophet Yunus left his town and went aboard the ship to sail away from the disbelievers that he spent years trying to guide, the seas turned stormy. In the story we all know, the crew wanted to throw someone off the boat and they randomly drew a name – Yunus (aliyhis salam). When he was about to be thrown overboard by the other passengers, what were the possible outcomes? He was about to be thrown into the middle of a stormy sea, in the middle of the night. In all likelihood, he was going to die.

But he didn’t. A whale was sent by Allah to swallow him. And beneath all the darkness, he called upon Allah (swt) using words that are immortalized for us in the Qur'an:

“There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”

Can you imagine the fear and pain that Prophet Yunus (aliyhis salam) must have been experiencing in those moments? The physical pain of having the whale’s stomach acid burning through his skin, the emotional pain of being absolutely alone and not knowing if or when he’d be able to escape, and the spiritual pain of knowing that he disobeyed Allah by leaving his people without Allah’s permission.

But all that pain he was experiencing was still better than the alternative – dying in a state of disobeying Allah.

Sometimes when you experience painful events in your life, you can barely get your head above water. You want to drown in the darkness within you.

You might even think that your situation is the worst it could possibly be. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself – is Allah saving me from an even greater tragedy? Is He strengthening me through this difficulty so I can move forward as a better, stronger believer? Is this pain good for me, even if I don’t yet understand how or why?

“Perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not” {2:216}

To the pained Du'a of Yunus aliyhis salam, Allah responded:

“So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers” {21:88}.

He will respond to you, too. And what you gain from your distress, though you may not see it now, will be better and more beautiful than what you could've imagined

Shaykh ul Islām ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said:

The Muslims in the eastern and western lands have a single (and united) heart in loyalty to Allāh, His Messenger, and the Believers, and in opposing the enemies of Allāh , His Messenger, and the Believers. Their truthful hearts and righteous prayers are the army which will not be defeated and the soldier which will not be forsaken.

Ibn Mas’ood رضي الله عنه said,

“Know the people by their friends. The Muslim follows the Muslim and the faajir (disobedient one) accompanies the faajir.”

And he said,

“Verily a man only walks and accompanies one whom he loves and who is like him.”

He also said,

“Know the people by their friends, since a man only befriends one whom he admires and who is like himself.”

Hadith: If one keeps apart from his brother for a year, it is like shedding his blood

There are 3 types of Sabr (patience):

1. Patience in doing good deeds

2. Patience in refraining from evil deeds

3. Patience on the Qadr of Allaah that is hurtful for you

Most people only talk about the 3rd type, forgetting that doing good deeds and refraining from bad deeds also requires patience.

Some scholars said that the 7 people who will ne shaded under Allaah's 'Arsh on the day of judgement, all have one quality in common:

PATIENCE.

Allah didn’t remove the sea for Musa.
He parted it.

Allah didn’t extinguish the fire for Ibrahim.
He made it cool.

Allah didn’t directly heal Ayyub.
He guided him to the water.

Allah didn’t place dates in Maryam’s hands.
He instructed her to shake the tree.

Allah doesn’t always take away our hardships, but He provides a path through them.

So when we seek relief, don’t be surprised if it comes with challenges to overcome. 🤍

A single mother travelled for umrah with her 16 year old son. She’s spent nearly 40 odd years of her life without wearing hijab.

After seeing the kaaba, she made a promise to the Lord of the kaaba: “oh Allah, I promise to wear and honour the hijab for the rest of my life.”

This is what umrah can do. This is how hearts can turn. Alhamdulillah.

You must have a daily connection with Islamic knowledge. You should learn and review daily: the Quran, Hadith, Arabic, Tawhid, and the Islamic Sciences.

You have to study everyday; even if it's only 10 minutes. If you don't have 10 minutes then you're only fooling yourself. Everyone can at least listen to a lecture while commuting, doing chores, or even while falling to sleep.

If knowledge becomes overwhelming, don't say or think, “let me take a long break to enjoy some entertainment, and then I"ll recharge.”

You have to commit to studying something everyday, and being patient in doing so.

When you feel bored or low on motivation, reduce the amounts you intake, shift to a different topic or science, or meet with those more knowledgeable and ambitious than you.

Knowledge is a blessing from Allah, and if it is wasted away, "paused", or lost, it may never come back.

How many have we seen throughout the years who were once seemingly "diligent" in seeking knowledge, but today are the furthest away from it? May Allah protect us.

Always remember that knowledge nourishes the soul and is never a burden. You desperately need this.

Constantly make abundant istighfar (seeking of Allah's forgiveness), as it cleanses the heart from its toughest stains: sins and heedlessness.

May Allah cleanse our hearts, raise our motivation, and grant us success in obtaining beneficial knowledge.

The Superiority of a Scholar

Narrated Abu Umamah Al-Bahili: "Two men were mentioned before the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). One of them a worshiper, and the other a scholar. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

'The superiority of the scholar over the worshiper is like my superiority over the least of you.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed Allah, His Angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earths - even the ant in his hole, even the fish - say Salat upon the one who teaches the people to do good.'"

Lesson in tawakkul:

And We inspired the mother of Moosaa (Moses): (telling): "Suckle him [Moosaa (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily, We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers."

...

So did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, and that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the Promise of Allaah is true. But most of them know not.

From Tafseer Ibn Katheer: There was only a short time between the distress and the way out, a day and night, or thereabouts -- and Allaah knows best. Glory be to the One in Whose hands are all things; what He wills happens and what He does not will does not happen. He is the One Who grants those who fear Him, a way out from every worry and distress.
