“Allaah will grant, after hardship, ease”
~ Surat ut-Talaaq, 65:7
Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) comments:
“Will this straitened (circumstance) remain? No. {Allaah will grant, after hardship, ease}. Just wait for the relief and be truthful with Allaah, and {Allaah will grant, after hardship, ease} and {Indeed with every hardship will be ease, indeed with every hardship will be ease}. This promise is only for the one who waits for the relief from Allaah and trusts in Allaah’s promise. But the person for whom Allaah makes (something) difficult, and he despairs of His Mercy and thinks that relief is unlikely – refuge is sought in Allaah – then the situation will not be made easy for this person.”

⚠️ Insincerity of Intention (Lack of Ikhlas in One’s Life in All Their Affairs)
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
Insincere effort is like the traveller who fills his bag with sand, it just overburdens him for no good reason. If you have overburdened your heart with the grief and sorrows of this worldly life, neglecting prayers, which are the heart's provision and power, you would then be like a traveller who overloaded his riding animal, while depriving it of its food, so it would not be able to continue on its journey.
[al-Fawa'id, pg. 76, Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah)]

Shayṭān fears ʿUmar
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allah be pleased with him):
“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, whenever the devil meets you walking on a path, he takes a path other than yours.”
Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
What is the reason for this?
Ibn Taymiyyah explained:
“Because Shayṭān only gains power over a person through his desires, and ʿUmar suppressed his desires.”
Every time I read this ḥadīth, I am amazed by the remarkable level reached by this exceptional, outstanding, and brilliant man: ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allah be pleased with him and grant him peace).

Allah does not like mediocrity.
Lets look at an interesting case study.
Suleman A.S had a moment of human slip.
He turned to Allah with a very ambitious Dua:
"My Lord, forgive me. And grant me a kingdom that will not belong to anyone after me.”
Anyone else would think:
“Isn't this dunya-chasing?”
But his niyyah was clear:
Give me scale so I can serve You at a scale never seen before.
Allah accepted that dua.
And through it, taught us a principle:
When your intention is to serve Allah, thinking small is actually disrespectful.
Mediocrity is not humility.
Playing safe is not piety.
Shrinking your potential is not taqwa.
Dream unprecedented dreams.
Not for ego. Not for fame. Not for money.
But so your contribution can reach heights that honor the gifts Allah has placed inside you.

"There will come a morning when everything finally makes sense. You will open your eyes and realize that the du’a you kept making in silence has been answered. What you once begged for with a heavy chest will appear right in front of you, real and undeniable. All the waiting, all the patience, all the moments you almost gave up will suddenly have meaning.
And your heart will overflow. You will cry, not because of the pain you went through, but because Allah showed you that He never ignored you. Those tears will be filled with joy, relief, and gratitude, knowing that every prayer was heard and answered at the perfect time."

Sahaba lived life with the primary purpose in mind of pleasing Allah and thinking what they can do for Allah to show gratefulness.
We live life to achieve our hyper self centred goals and thinking what can religion and Allah do for me to help me achieve that self centered goal.

Ibn al-Jawzī rahimahuLlaah said about the dunya:
“Know that time never remains in one condition — as Allah, the Almighty, said:
‘And such are the days We alternate among the people.’ [Āl ʿImrān: 140]
At times there is poverty, and at times wealth;
at times honor, and at times humiliation;
at times friends rejoice, and at times enemies gloat.
So the truly happy one is he who clings to one constant principle in all circumstances — the fear (taqwā) of Allah, the Almighty.
Therefore, hold fast to taqwā in every situation,
for then you will see in hardship nothing but ease,
and in sickness, nothing but well-being.”
Ṣayd al-Khāṭir (pp. 164–165)

Not everyone has a family that checks in.
Not everyone has parents who listen or siblings who care.
Some people learned to wipe their own tears, hold their own hand, and celebrate their wins alone because no one's clapping for them.
Be kind. Be gentle.
You never know who's going to bed tonight feeling unseen and unwanted, who had to become their own family just to survive.🙏

A poet once said:
Beware of your enemy once, but beware of your friend a thousand times.
Perhaps a friend might flip, so he would know how to harm you more.
Trusting people unconditionally and befriending anyone is one of the biggest errors because the worst of enemies are those who used to be friends at one point, for they have been exposed to your secrets.
[ Ibn al Jawzi رحمه الله, Captured Thoughts, p. 408]

Prayer Attracts Provision
Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawzeeyah [رحمه الله] said:
«الصلاة مجلبة للرزق حافظة للصحة، دافعة للأذى مطردة للأدواء، مقوية للقلب مبيضة للوجه، مفرحة للنفس مذهبة للكسل.»
❝Prayer attracts provisions, preserves health, it defends against harm, repels diseases. It strengths the heart and illuminates the face. It gives delight to the soul and removes laziness.❞

Luqmān was an Ethiopian Slave who was a carpenter.
His master said to him:
"Slaughter this sheep for us," so he slaughtered it.
His master said: "Bring the best two pieces from it," so he brought out the tongue and the heart.
Them time passed, as much as Allāh willed, and his master said: "Slaughter this sheep for us," so he slaughtered it.
His master said: "Bring the worst two morsels from it," so he brought out the tongue and the heart.
His master said to him: "I told you to bring out the best two pieces, and you brought these, then I told you bring out the worst two pieces, and you brought these!"
Luqmān said: "There is nothing better than these if they are good, and there is nothing worse than these if they are bad."

The Qur’an gives us many cases of people who act based on their desires or what they feel and want in the moment.
The brothers of Yusuf عليه السلام acted on their envy.
The wife of the Aziz acted on her lusts.
The women of Egypt acted on their haughtiness and spread gossip.
The leaders of Quraish and Bani Israel acted on their arrogance.
The men of the garden acted on their greed and refused to share their fruits with the poor.
Shaytan acted on his envy and continues to be too arrogant to seek forgiveness from Allah.
They all share one thing in common: they act from a place of desire. What they do rests upon what they *feel* like doing or what feels good, even if it is wrong.
They treat people based on how they feel and what they want. They lack character, consistency, and a sense of self that is rooted in their relationship with Allah.
And the Qur’an gives us many cases of people who restrain themselves even when it’s difficult for the sake of Allah.
Yusuf عليه السلام refuses to acquiesce to the wife of the Aziz regardless of desire. He refuses to seek revenge toward his brothers regardless of their betrayal. He refuses to respond to his brothers’ hurtful comments regardless of his pain.
Yaqub عليه السلام forgives his sons regardless of his grief because of their deceitful scheming.
Musa عليه السلام chooses to face Firawn regardless of his fear.
The Prophet ﷺ continued to preach and prayed for Quraish regardless of the sting of rejection and betrayal from his own people.
All these people share one thing in common: they act based on their values. Based on what would please Allah. Values are eternal and feelings are fleeting, so they act based on those eternal truths and take them as a guiding compass.
It takes practice and you won’t always get it right. But clinging to your values will guide you to recognize that you made a mistake and immediately seek to rectify it for Allah. That’s what separated Adam عليه السلام and Shaytan.

How true is that.
Nowadays, women seem to have a 'two-nation theory' regarding their in-laws' house...
They insist on having a separate house for themselves, but expect their sister-in-law (the brother's wife) to continue living with the in-laws. For them, it's not just the mother-in-law and sisters-in-law who are problematic; their sisters-in-law (their brothers' wives) are also considered problematic...
They want a hefty, fixed dowry (Mehr) for themselves, but insist that their sister-in-law's dowry should be the minimal 'Shar'i' (Islamic) amount.
When it comes to their own rights, they remember every single one, whether legitimate or not. But concerning the rights of others, they suddenly become mute, deaf, and develop a weak memory...
