Shaykh al-Fawzan
(Hafidhullah):
"A person should always ask Allah for steadfastness even if he knows the truth, acts according to it. He should not feel secure from deviation and temptation. As trials can afflict him and as a result, he may stray from the path of Allah."
{Explanation of Shar-us-Sunnah pg.33}

“…Allaah snatches the light of imaan…”
Ibn ‘Abbaas (Rady'Allahu Anhu) said:
“Marry, because if the servant of Allaah commits fornication Allaah snatches the light of imaan from him, and may or may not return it to him.”

Saudi King Salman: “No royal is above the law”

King Salman hafidhahullah said he considers the rights of citizens “more important” than his own, and that the real defense against corrupt activity was the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

Origin of all sins

Ibn al Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Foundation/origin of all sins are 3:

1) Al-Kibr (arrogance): It is that which converted Ibless to what he is.
2) Al-Hirss (greed): It is that which banished Adam(as) from Jannah.
3) Al-hasad (jealousy): It is that which incited son of Adam(as) on his brother.

The one who is protected from these 3 evils, he is protected from evil; so kufr is due to arrogance; and sins are due to greed; and injustice & oppression are due to jealousy.

[Al- fawaaid 1/58]
Upon the authority of Wuhaib Ibnil Warad [رحمه الله] who said:

❝It used to be said that wisdom is in ten parts, nine of them are connected to silence while the tenth is in seclusion from the people.❞

[Collected By Ibn Abi Dunya In ‘As Samt, (No. 36) | Translated By Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis]
“The Evil Eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree (al-qadar) it would be the Evil Eye.” [Narrated by Muslim: 2188, from the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas (Radiy'Allah'anhu)]

Damura ibn Tha’laba (Radiy'Allah'anhu) Narrated the Messenger of Allah, (Sallallaahu'alayhi'wasalaam), said, “The people will remain upon goodness as long as they do not envy each other.”

WHY DID YOU NOT LEARN? WHY DID YOU NOT ASK?

Shaykh Saaleh al-Fawzaan (حفظه الله) said:

Translation:

“As for worldly knowledge (such as knowledge of the industries, professions, mathematics, engineering etc), then, whoever is ignorant of it, then there is no sin upon him, and whoever learns it, then it is permissible for him, and if he utilizes to be benefit the Nation, then he is rewarded for it. If person died and he was ignorant of this knowledge, then he will not be taken account for it on the Day of Resurrection.

However, whoever died and he was ignorant of AL-‘ILM ASH-SHAR'EE, (Knowledge of the Islamic system) particularly essential knowledge, then he will be asked about it on the Day of Resurrection: “WHY DID YOU NOT LEARN?” “WHY DID YOU NOT ASK?”

The one who says (having sound knowledge of al-ilm ash-Sharée), when he is placed in his grave: “My Lord is ALLAAH, Islam is my religion, and my Prophet is Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم),” this person will be saved. It will be said to him: “Where did you acquire this from?” So he will say: “I read the Book of ALLAAH and I learned it (from the people upon upright knowledge).”

As for the person who turns away from that, then when he is questioned in his grave, he will say:

« هاه هاه لا أدري، سمعت الناس يقولون شيئا فقلته » (Haa-haa ! I do not know! I heard the people saying something, so I said it (without investigating & without making any efforts in the search for the Truth.)

This person’s grave will be made to blaze with fire upon him – and Allaah’s refuge is sought – and it will be crushed upon him, to such an extent that his ribs will cross over, and he will come to be pit from the pits of the Hell-Fire, because he did not have knowledge and he did not read. So it will be said to him: “You did not know, and you did not read (or you did not follow)”

[Reported by al-Bukharee in abridged form as a hadeeth of Anas, (#1338). It is also reported by Muslim in abridged form as a hadeeth of Anas (#2870), and reported by Abu Dawood by al-Baraa’ bin ‘Aazib in a long hadeeth (#4753), declared Saheeh by Shaykh al-Albanee (رحمه الله)]

So he DID NOT learn and he DID NOT follow the example of the (true) people of knowledge.

Rather he was wasted and lost in his life, so this is the person who ends up in wretchedness, and ALLAAH’S Refuge is sought.”

The Beauty in the Quran

Whenever ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās – Allāh be pleased with them – saw a muṣḥaf (copy of the Qurān) decorated with silver or gold he would say:

Do you tempt the thief, when its beauty is in its inside?

Do not make people turn away from Islam because of your harshness, ignorance or violent, harmful approach – Ibn Baz

Third: Among the qualifications necessary for a Day is that he should have patience, kindness, and gentleness with forbearing temperament as the prophets (peace be upon them) were.

Never should a Da
y be rushing, violent, or unduly strict. Rather, he has to be patient, forbearing and kind while practicing Dawah. To this effect, we have stated some evidence earlier. For example, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says:

“Invite (mankind, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islâm) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Revelation and the Qur’ân) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better.” [Surah Al-Nahl, 16: 125]

He (Glorified be He) also says: And by the Mercy of Allâh, you dealt with them gently. In the story of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron), Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says:

“And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear (Allâh).”[Surah TaHa, 20: 44]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) is authentically reported to have said:

“O Allah, whoever gains control over some affairs of my people and is hard upon them, be hard upon him, and whoever gains control over some affairs of my people and is kind to them, be kind to him.”

[Muslim, Sahih, Book on rulership, no. 1828; and Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Musnad, vol. 6, p. 93.]

So, it is obligatory for you, slaves of Allah, to be kind in your Da
wah, and not to be harsh with people. Do not make people turn away from Islam because of your harshness, ignorance or violent, harmful approach. It is thus obligatory for you to be forbearing, gentle, pleasant and lenient in speech so that your words may have an effect on the heart of your brother, or that it may have an effect on one toward whom your Dawah is directed. As such, people will receive your Dawah better, will be affected by it and will show appreciation. On the contrary, harshness causes disaffection, alienation, and division, not unity.

Ruling on Chat Smilies (Emoticons) – Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhali

Question: What is the ruling on smilies on computers that are used when brothers chat with each other? These symbols represent ones expressions; to press on a happy smiley symbolizes happiness and to press on a sad smiley symbolizes agitation.

Allamah Zayd bin Muhammad al-Madkhali (rahimahullaah)

These emoticons are baseless in the Sharî’ah. There is no need of embodied figures except in need, which it (this situation) isn’t. Thus, these smilies are baseless. If these two persons are in need of each other, they can speak via some other method. As for smilies that stand for happiness and anger, then they do not belong to the methodology of Ahl-us-Sunnah wal-Jamâ’ah.

THE RULING ON SAYING GOOD LUCK OR UR SO LUCKY

Saying 'good luck' or 'you're so lucky' is associating what u have with an unknown source of luck or karma intentionally attributing blessing to OTHER than Allah

The one who doesnt believe in Allah Subhaana wa ta'aala he says I have good luck today, or Im unlucky

The believer says every ni'mah (blessing) is khayr it is from Allah Subhaana wa ta'aala he mentions Allah and thanks Him Subhaana wa ta'aala.

HADEETH: THE WORLDLY LIFE IS FOR FOUR TYPES OF PEOPLE

Narrated Abu Kabshah Al-An’maariy (radiyallaahu-anhu) that Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: “I swear by Allah regarding three (affairs) which I am going to tell, so remember them. The wealth of a man does not decrease due to (giving) charity; a slave does not exercise patience when oppressed, except that Allah increases his honour; a slave does not open the door of begging, except that Allaah opens for him the door of poverty (or he stated a statement similar to it).”

I am going to tell you (something), so remember it: The worldly life is for four types of people.

[A] A slave whom Allaah has given wealth and knowledge, so he fears his Lord by way of it. He preserves the ties of kinship and acknowledges Allaah’s Rights regarding it. This (type of person) is on the most virtuous position.

[B] A slave whom Allaah has given knowledge but not wealth. He is truthful in his intention and says: If I had wealth, I would have done the deed of such and such (person).’’ So because of this intention of his, his reward is the same (i.e. the righteous one who has been given wealth and knowledge).

[C] A slave whom Allaah has given wealth but not knowledge. He wastes his wealth out of ignorance. He neither fears Allaah nor does he keep the ties of kinship, nor does he acknowledge Allaah’s rights. This (type of person) is at the evilest position.

[D] A slave whom Allaah has neither given wealth nor knowledge and he says:
If I had wealth, I would have done the deed of such and such (person).’’ So by way of his intention, they are similar (i.e. similar to the evil person who wastes his wealth). [1]

Shaikh Ubaid (may Allaah preserve him) stated:

The first is a wealthy person who is thankful (to Allaah); so Allaah will raise him to the most virtuous position due to his deed.

The second is a poor person who exercises patience. He is truthful in his intention with regards to spending from that which Allaah has bestowed on him. So Allaah makes him reach the most virtuous position due to his truthful intention.

The third is a boastful wealthy person. He is covetous and stingy; so his deed takes him to the most evil position.

The fourth is a boastful poor person and his intention is evil. So together with his poverty, his intention takes him to the most evil position.

So based on this, we know that by way of truthful intentions Allaah raises the person. And an evil intention debases a person until he finds him/herself in the most evil position. [2]

*Utilise your Time in Beneficial Matters & keep away from Qeela wa Qaal* - Shaykh Uthaymeen
THE FOURTH LEGACY

I advise you all to safeguard your time and to occupy yourselves in that which is beneficial. You should know that time is more precious than wealth, as Allaah – the Most Blessed, the Most High – said:

“Until when death comes to him, he says: O my Lord! Give me respite so that I may then do righteous actions.” [Soorah al-Baqarah 2:333].

Time is such that when it departs it does not return, whereas wealth, when it departs, then it is possible to replace it. So time is of the utmost importance. This is why I advise you to safeguard your time, and to occupy yourselves in that which benefits. Keep away from qeela wa qaal (gossiping) – that so and so said such and such about this and that person – because the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said in an authentic narration: “Indeed Allaah hates qeela wa qaal (gossip mongering), asking too many questions, and wasting one’s wealth.” [4] Unfortunately, many of the youths – after returning to the correct path, and uniting their hearts and unifying their word – have become disunited and fragmented into many factions, and this is due to the whisperings of Shaytaan amongst them and the disuniting of their word. So I advise the brothers to utilise your time in beneficial matters, and to keep away from qeela wa qaal. Indeed, time is like a sword; either you strike it, or it will strike you!

The tongue is an indication for the condition of one's heart.

Yahya Ibn Mu'aadh said,

"The hearts are like pots. They boil with that which they contain and their tongues are their ladles [i.e. scooping spoons]. So look at a man when he speaks.

His tongue will scoop out for you that which is contained in his heart, whether it is sweet or bitter, fresh or salty and other than that. And the flavor of his heart will become clear to you from that which his tongue scoops out."
