Stated ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz (d.101H),
🔉“ *Those who have preceded*,
-they stopped upon knowledge,
-they restrained due to penetrating insight, and
-they were _the keenest_ in uncovering the affairs.
Furthermore, if the guidance is what you are upon, *then they have preceded you in it*.
🗞And if you say that affairs were invented after them, then nothing was invented, except by one who follows other than their path and prefers _himself_ over them.
Indeed, they spoke about it with that which suffices, and they described from it that which satisfies.
☄So whatever is below them is _deficient_ and whatever is above them is confinement.🌷
💭Indeed, there were people below them, so they worked in vain. And others turned away from them, *so they fell into extremism.*

A MAN WAKES IN THE MORNING A MUSLIM…” SHAYKH RABEE’

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said:
Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: “Hasten towards (performance of) good deeds; (for) there will be trials which would be like a part of a dark night, wherein (i.e. during these trials)a man wakes up as a believer& becomes a disbeliever by night;or he begins the night as a believer & wakes up as a disbeliever,& a man would sell his religion for a (portion) of the worldly life (i.e. the worldly goods).” [Saheeh Muslim Kitaab Al-Imaan number: 118]
Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said:
The author [i.e. Imaam Al-Aajurree] pointed out that a lot of fitan [trials] have occurred–a people were humiliated during it and also [others] were destroyed, such as the likes of Abu Muslim Al-Khurasaanee & [during] the fitna of Ibnul Raawandee.
Many fitan have occurred & from them, the fitna of the khawaarij, the Rawaafid and killing. Deviation & misguidance have occured –either fighting and trials [related] to politics or trials [related] to creed, methodology & what is similar to it. Many people who were to be destroyed were destroyed & the one whom Allaah protected was saved & made to adhere to the true methodology.
Indeed, all praises and thanks be to Allaah, many [people] were saved due to the clarity & establishment of this methodology [of the Salaf], just as the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallaam] promised that “There will not cease to be a group from my Ummah manifest & upon the truth –neither being harmed by those who forsake them nor by those who oppose them until the hour is established.”
So Allaah’s proof has been established against the people 4m the time the Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallaam] was sent until the establishment of the hour.
A time will not come except that His [i.e. Allaah’s] proofs are established.[These proofs will be] established by the inheritors of the prophets [i.e.the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah], the people of sound knowledge, the ‘Taa-ifatul Mansoorah[i.e. victorious group] that adheres to the truth & will not depart from it until the establishment of the hour. Allaah’s proof has been established against [the people]& through them[i.e. the inheritors of the prophets, the people of sound knowledge, the victorious group] Allaah saves many people,&all the praises & thanks be to Allaah.
So during every trial, they [i.e. the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah] must openly proclaim the truth & clarify this truth for the people. They should distinguish for them [the difference] between guidance& misguidance; between truth and falsehood; the manner in which the people will be safeguarded from these trials; the path through which they will be saved from entering into fitan& other affairs [by way of which] Allaah [The Blessed and Most High] guides this [victorious] group when[they]face every fitna.
And indeed the author reiterated this hadeeth: ‘’A man will wake up in the morning as a Muslim& by evening he becomes a disbeliever.” He [i.e. the author] said that a people will be humiliated; Yes! A man may be upon truth,& then you do not see him thereafter except that he has become a disbeliever! Or a misguided innovator! This is nothing else but humiliation! He used to claim that he was upon good, a possessor of knowledge &upon the truth, but then he falls into disbelief–either Kufr Akbar or kufr Asghar. This is ignominy & Allaah’s Protection is sought.
How many people have been humiliated and exposed by a trial! [Suddenly] you come to know of them& their false claims are unveiled,& their reality is clarified for you.

Hypocrisy Today
Hudhayfah b. Al-Yamān – Allāh be pleased with him – said:
The munāfiqūn (hypocrites) amongst you today are worse than those in the time of Allāh’s Messenger – Allāh’s praise and peace be upon him.
He was asked, “How is that o Abū ‘Abdillāh”?
He replied:
Because those [in the time of the Prophet] used to hide their nifāq (hypocrisy), whereas the hypocrites of today commit [hypocrisy] openly.

The Shaikh رحمه الله said:
“If it was a duaa, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم would not have limited it by saying “in shaa-Allaah”, rather it is an advice and a (source of) hope. And it could be that they may say (about this narration): “It is abrogated” – but this is not apparent. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم would always say this whenever he visited the sick. This is optimism and hope that it would be expiation for the sins – Allaah Willing – from one angle it is good words, and a glad tiding from another angle. So, this is from the angle of goodness and hope.As for saying “in shaa-Allaah” in the du
aa, then this is not permissible. Like saying: “O Allaah! Forgive him – in shaa-Allaah”, “Allaah have mercy on you in shaa-Allaah”.”
[1] The complete narration is as follows:
Narrated Ibn Abbaas رضي الله عنهما: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم went to visit a sick Bedouin. Whenever the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم went to a patient, he used to say to him: “Don't worry, if Allaah will, it will be expiation (for your sins).” The Bedouin said: “You say expiation? No, it is but a fever that is boiling or harassing an old man and will send him to his grave.” The Prophet said: “Then, yes, it is so.”[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (3616, 5656, 5662, 7470)]

*Why doesn’t my prayer prevent me from committing evil?*
By Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-’Uthaymeen may Allah have mercy on him
Question: I am a person who prays however I still find myself falling into evil actions (munkaraat). What advice do you have for me and why doesn’t my prayer prevent me from doing evil deeds?
Answer: My advice to you is to repent to Allah, azza wa jal, and be sincere in turning back towards Him. You should be mindful of the greatness of the One you are disobeying and be mindful of His punishment for those who oppose His Command. You should remember the statement of Allah,
نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
“Inform unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful.”
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِيمُ
“And that My Torment is indeed the most painful torment.” [al-Hijr: 49-50]
Therefore, seek Allah’s forgiveness and mercy and at the same time become fearful of His punishment. As for your prayer not preventing you from performing evil deeds, then perhaps it is due to it containing deficiencies within. That is because the prayer that prevents one from committing lewdness and evil deeds is the prayer that is complete. It is the prayer that is in accordance to what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came with, prayer that is performed with an attentive present heart, and a prayer that is performed upon the Sunnah.
It is not any and every prayer that prevents one from lewdness and evil deeds, rather it is only the established prayer that is performed its required manner. Allah said,
إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِ
“…Indeed, the prayer prevents al-Fahshaa (lewdness, great sins of every kind, illegal sexual relations) and al-Munkar (disbelief, polytheism, and every evil deed)…” [al-‘Ankabut: 45]
And this is referring to the prayer that is established in the correct manner.

And this is referring to the prayer that is established in the correct manner.

The 10 ways of obtaining the Love of Allah -تعالى-, as mentioned
by Ibn Qayyim-رحمه الله-
✅1. Reading the Quran, pondering over it and understanding it with its intended meanings.
✅2. Drawing closer to Allah with the Nawaafil (supererogatory acts of worship) after the [fulfillment of the] obligatory acts.
✅3. Constant remembrance of Allah in all situations with the tongue, the heart and the action [of the limbs].
✅4. Preferring that which Allah loves over what the servant loves when the fulfillment of the two conflict.
✅5. Contemplation over the names and attributes of Allah and what they indicate [of his) perfection and magnificence. And also [contemplating over] what they contain from praiseworthy implications.
✅6. Contemplation over both the hidden and apparent blessings of Allah, while bearing witness to His kindness, favor and distribution of His grace upon His servants.
✅7. Humbling oneself and wholly submitting to Allah while admitting one's dire need of Him.
✅8. Seclusion with Allah at the time of His Divine descent [that is befitting of His perfection and glory] in the last third of the night. And reciting the Quran at this time and concluding it by making Tawbah (repentance) and Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness).
✅9. Sitting with the people of goodness and integrity, those who love Allah -عزَّ وجلَّ- and benefiting from their speech.
✅10. Distancing one's self from any distracting means that would hinder the heart from Allah [and his remembrance]."

The disease afflicting the Muslim youth in our times is that when they acquire some new knowledge, they raise their heads (arrogantly) thinking that they know everything, and they are overcome with self-amazement. We fear that they resemble the statement of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ):
"There are three destructive things: Being stingy, following one’s desires and being amazed with one’s own opinion."

“ And in some parts of the night (also) perform the Salat (prayer) with it (i.e., recite the Qur’an in the prayer) as an additional prayer (Tahajjud optional prayer – Nawafil) for you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)). It may be that your Rubb will raise you to Maqam Mahmud (a station of praise and glory, i.e., the honour of intercession on the Day of Resurrection). ”
