Causes of The Decrease of Imaan

Shaykh Muhammad ibn asaalih al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

From the causes of the decrease of imaan are:

1⃣- First: Ignorance with the (Lofty) Names of Allaah The Most High and His Denoscriptions.
2⃣- Second: Turning away from the reflection in the ayat of Allaah The Most High of Kuwniyyah (Universal) and Shar'iyyah (Legislative).
3⃣- Third: Disobedience(to Allaah); indeed disibedience has a great affect upon the heart and upon the imaan.
4⃣- Four: Abandoning obedience (to Allaah); indeed abandoning obedience is a cause for the decrease of Imaan.

Read the Qur'an regularly.

Imaam an-Nawawi رحمه الله said:

“Reciting the Qur'aan is the most important of adhkar, which should be done regularly. No day or night should be without reciting and it may be attained by reciting a few verses.” ● [كتاب الأذكـار للنـووي ١٢٢٥/٢]

Ibn Jawzi رحمه الله تعالى said:

“The one who has a Mushaf must recite it everyday of whatever is easy for him, lest he be from those who have forsaken the Qur’aan.“ ● [الآداب الشرعية ٢\٣٠٠]

Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said:

“Allaah took responsibility for who reads the Qur'aan & ACTS ON what is in it; he won’t go astray in this life nor despair in the Hereafter.“ ● [مفتاح دار السعادة ٥٨/١]

Ibn Mas'ood رضي الله عنه said:

“Qur’aan is the Speech of Allaah, uncreated, so indeed whoever loves Qur’aan then he loves Allaah.”

CULTIVATING YOUR CHILDREN - DITCH THE TV!

Protect the children from satellite channels, TV, and the internet where they may be exposed to immoral and haraam speech, images and music such as movies and soaps which are based upon glorification of fornication, infidelity, disobedience, disrespect and sin – likewise those cartoons which contain sin and disobedience and even idolatry and disbelief.

These are affairs that the Muslims have become lax and easy-going with – many are heedless and foolish with regard to their responsibilities in this affair. If your children need to access the internet, then make sure you have strong parental controls on all of the computers they access.

One the best and simplest and free parental controls is k9webprotection.com – make sure access to social forums and media is blocked, as well as youtube and other sites that lead youth astray when used irresponsibly. The same can be said about smartphones and iPhones.

If you wish your children to have these devices then they should be controlled with strict parental controls as a safety measure against obscene images, videos and music. I would go as far as to say, there is no need for any parent who cares about the mental and psychological welfare of his child (whether Muslim or non-Muslim) to have terrestrial or satellite channels in the home.

If there is any particular beneficial documentary, one can simply download and watch it, if there is need for that.

So this is a huge responsibility upon the shoulders of fathers and mothers. They must work as a team to cultivate and nurture their offspring.

Bukharee and Muslim report from Ma’qil bin Yasaar (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) that the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said,

“There is not a man to whom Allah has given authority and he is dishonest with regard to his responsibility and he dies upon that except that Allah will make forbidden upon him Jannah.” [Bukhaaree, no. 7150, Muslim, no. 142]

THE RULING ON SAYING GOOD LUCK OR UR SO LUCKY

Saying 'good luck' or 'you're so lucky' is associating what u have with an unknown source of luck or karma intentionally attributing blessing to OTHER than Allah

The one who doesnt believe in Allah Subhaana wa ta'aala he says I have good luck today, or Im unlucky

The believer says every ni'mah (blessing) is khayr it is from Allah Subhaana wa ta'aala he mentions Allah and thanks Him Subhaana wa ta'aala.

Shaykh as-Sa'di:

"One of the best things is knowing that people who backbite you will never hurt you. They only hurt themselves."

[al-Wasā'il al-Mufeed (No. 30)]
Ibn Taymīyah رحمه الله:
“The mothers of (all) virtues are: knowledge, religion, courage and generosity.”
[منهاج السنة ٦\٣٧٩]
Shamsuddeen Muhammad bin Abee Bakr Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah [D.751 A.H.] [رحمه الله] said:

❝There is no doubt that the heart becomes rusty just like brass and silver and other things become rusty, and it becomes bright and illuminated with Dhikr. It becomes so bright until it is a shiny mirror, therefore if the heart is left then it becomes rusty and if it remembers Allaah it becomes illuminated.

The heart becomes rusty due to two matters: due to negligence and sins, and it becomes illuminated with two things: with seeking forgiveness and Dhikr.❞

[al-Waabil as-Sayib By Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, (Page: 56) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
Shaykh Saleh Al Fawzan says in his explanation of Sharh us Sunnah of Imaam al Barbahari (p.71):

"Whoever follows his desires will indeed end up leaving the religion even though it may be after a period of time. Initially he is easy going in the affairs of opposing (the Quran and the Sunnah) and (in following) desires. Then following of desires increases and intensifies until he leaves the Deen, whereupon his desires become his religion just as Allaah mentions:

"Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember?"

So desires are another god. Shirk is not only restricted to the worship of idols or (false) deities, but rather there is another thing and that is desires. Perhaps a person does not worship idols, trees or stones and neither does he worship graves, but rather he follows his desires. So this individual is a slave of his desires. It is therefore upon a person to be aware and to not follow anything except that which conforms to the Book and the Sunnah."
The Ruling on Television

Question:

"What is the ruling on television today?"

Answer:

"There is no doubt that television, today, is Haraam (forbidden). This is since television is like the radio and tape recorder, they are like all the other blessings that Allaah has bestowed upon His servants, as He has stated:

{And if you were to count the blessings of Allaah, you would never be able to count them.}[Surah An-Nahl 16: 18]

Thus, hearing is a blessing and eyesight is a blessing, and so are the lips and the tongue. However, many of these blessings become trials upon their possessors because they do not use them in a way that Allaah loves and wants for them to be used.

Therefore, I consider the radio, television and the tape recorder to be from the blessings of Allaah, but when are they deemed as blessings? When they are used to bring benefit to the ummah. Today, ninety-nine percent of what is on television is evil, licentious, immoral, forbidden, and so on, while one percent of it has some shows presented that are of benefit to some people.

But the consideration is with regard to the majority (and not the minority). So when a true Muslim state exists that can place programs based on knowledge, which would be beneficial for the ummah, at that point I will not say that television is permissible, but rather I will say that it is obligatory."

Is ur Imaan low? Learn & ponder on the Names & Attributes of Allah سبحانه و تعالى

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

Among the causes that bring about increase in one’s imaan is having knowledge of Allah’s names and attributes. Whenever the slave increases in awareness of them, of their implications and effects, then imaan in His Rabb will [consequently] increase, as well as love and veneration of Him. Likewise, contemplating over the universal and legislative signs, whenever the slave observes them, pondering over their amazing power and their superb wisdom (of Allah demonstrated within them), then his imaan will without doubt increase.

This Is Tremendous Du’a – Seeking Refuge With Allaah From Evil People Around You

The transliteration of which is:

“Allahumma innee a’udhu bika min Jaaris Suu, wa min zawjin tashayyabanee qablal masheeb, wa min waladin yakoonu alaiyya rabban, wa min maalin yakoonu alaiyya ‘adhaaban, wa min khaleelin maakirin, ‘ainuhu taraanee, wa qalbuhu yar’aanee, in yaraa hasanatan dafanahaa, wa in yaraa sayyi’a’tan adhaa’ahaa“

And Here Is Its Translation:

Abu Hurayrah (Radee’Allaahu anhu) said that from his (Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu alayhee wa aalehee wasalam) supplications were:
“Oh Allaah, I seek refuge with you
From an evil neighbour; and
From a wife who causes me to grow old before old age; and
From a son who will become a master over me; and
From wealth which will become a punishment for me; and
From a cunning friend whose gaze is upon me & whose heart is plotting & planning against me, such that if he sees Something good, he buries it & if he sees something bad he spreads it.”
(Collected by At Tabaraani in ‘Ad Dua’ (3/1425/1339) and its chain is declared ‘Jayyid’ (Good) by Shaikh Al Albaani in silsilatul Ahaadeethus Saheehah (No#3137)
Sh. Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān Hafiẓahullāh: “The books of 'Aqeedah are not read like the newspapers are read, NO, rathers it's a MUST that they be memorised and read with a scholar having insight into 'Aqeedah who (then) explains, interprets and clarifies them to the people.”
