Should we fast Arafah according to the moon sighting in the country where we are or according to the moon sighting in al-Haramayn (the two Holy Sanctuaries)?

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: what if the day of ‘Arafah is different because of the moon being sighted at different times in different countries? Should we fast according to the moon sighting in the country where we are or according to the moon sighting in al-Haramayn (the two Holy Sanctuaries)?

He replied: This is based on a difference of opinion among the scholars: Is there only one moon sighting for the whole world or does it vary according to when the moon rises in different places?

The correct view is that it varies according to when the moon rises in different places. For example, if the moon is sighted in Makkah, and today is the ninth, and it is sighted elsewhere one day before Makkah, and the day of ‘Arafah in Makkah is the tenth for them, it is not permissible for them to fast on this day because it is Eid. Similarly if it so happens that they sight the moon after Makkah, and the 9th in Makkah is the 8th for them, then they should fast the day that is the 9thfor them, which is the 10th in Makkah. This is the correct view, because the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When you see it (the new moon) fast and when you see it break your fast.” Those who did not see the moon in their own location have not seen it. Just as people are unanimously agreed that the times for dawn and sunset vary according to their own location, so too the months are also worked out by location, just like the daily timings.

[In Urdu] Arafah ka Roza Kis din Rakha jaye..? Saudi ke Hisab se (ya) Apne Mulk ke hisab se

• Dwellings in Jannah are prepared for those who FEED OTHERS •

Narrated by Ahmad, and Ibn Hibbân from Abû Mâlik al-Ash’ari and by at-Tirmidhi from ‘Ali (radhiAllaahu ‘anhu) the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi WA sallam) said:

“In Paradise there are dwellings whose inside can be seen from the outside, and the outside can be seen from inside. Allâh (Subhana wa ta’ala) has prepared them for those who feed the hungry, and speak softly and gently, fast continuously and pray at night whilst the people are asleep.”

[Sahîh al-Jâmi' as-Saghîr, 2/220, no. 2119]
HAVE YOU BEEN GETTING UP DURING THE NIGHT TO PROSTRATE TO YOUR RABB?

Allaah, the Most High, says:

تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ (16)

"Their sides forsake their beds, calling upon their Rabb in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allaah's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them...." [Qur'aan, 32:16]

And Allaah, the Most High, says:
وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا (64)

" And those who spend the night before their Rabb, prostrate and standing." [Qur'aan, 25:64]

It was narrated by Ma'daan ibn Abi Talhah al-Ya'maree, who said: I met Thawbaan (RadiyAllaahu 'an-hu) the Mawlaa of the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ); so, I said to him: Inform me of a deed which I can do through which Allaah will admit me into the paradise? [Or he said: Inform me of the most beloved of all deeds to Allaah?]. He (Thawbaan) (RadiyAllaahu 'an-hu) remained silent. Then, I asked him again and he remained silent. Then, I asked him a third time, and he (RadiyAllaahu 'an-hu) said: I asked the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) about this (same matter), and He (ﷺ) said: “It is incumbent upon you to perform frequent prostrations (i.e. in Salaah). For, verily, you will not perform one prostration for Allaah, except that He will raise you up - due to it - a degree, and remove from you - due to it - a sin.” Ma'daan said: Then, I met Abu Ad-Dardaa' (RadiyAllaahu 'an-hu) and asked him (the same question), and he said to me the like of what Thawbaan (RadiyAllaahu 'an-hu) said to me. ” [Narrated by Muslim (Arabic Edition, no. 488)]

It was narrated that Rabee'ah ibn Ka'b al-Aslamee (RadiyAllaahu 'an-hu) said: I spent the night with the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) and hence I brought to him his water for ablution and other needs of his. As a result he (ﷺ) said to me: “Ask (for what you want).” So, I said: I ask of you that I accompany you in paradise. He (ﷺ) said: “Or (ask for) something other than that.” I said: This is (what I want). He (ﷺ) said: “Then, assist me (in achieving this) though frequent prostration (i.e. in Salaah).” [Narrated by Muslim (Arabic Edition, no. 489)]

🌟The Best Du'aa🌟

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“The best of du’aa’ is du’aa’ on the day of ‘Arafah, and the best that I and the Prophets before me said is :

لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير

‘Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer

(There is none worthy of worship but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the dominion, to Him be praise, and He has power over all things).”

📙Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (3585)’ classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb (1536).

It was narrated from Talhah ibn ‘Ubayd ibn Kurayz in a mursal report:

“The best of du’aa’ is du’aa’ on the day of ‘Arafah.”

📙Narrated by Maalik in al-Muwatta’ (500); classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’ (1102)

🚩The consequences of abandoning the prayers (summarized):

🚫1. The one who abandons the prayers is a Kaafir. He is like the one who has apostatized from the religion.

🚫2. He is not allowed to marry a Muslim girl/woman. If a girl is already married to a person who has abandoned prayers, then this marriage becomes invalid. If the person repents and starts praying, then the marriage contract has to be renewed.

🚫3. He cannot act as a Wali (male guardian) for his Muslim daughters or other female relatives.

🚫4. He cannot be a guardian to his children or have custody over them. Allaah has not given authority to a Kaafir over a Muslim.

🚫5. The animal he slaughters is Haraam to consume. One of the conditions for the slaughter to be Halaal is that the slaughterer should be a Muslim or from the People of the Book (Jew or Christian). The apostate is not one of them, so whatever he slaughters is Haraam to eat.

🚫6. He is not permitted to enter Makkah and its vicinity.

🚫7. If he dies upon this, he will not be washed or shrouded.

🚫8. Janaazah (funeral) prayer will not be offered for him.

🚫9. He will not be buried in the Muslim cemetery. He will be buried along with Kuffaar or in a far of place.

🚫10. It is not allowed for those who knew that he had abandoned prayers to seek forgiveness for him.

📖 FIQH OF UDHIYAH (SACRIFICE)📖
PART 1⃣1⃣

📌FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

🔹Giving a part of Ud-hiyah/Aqeeqah meat to non-Muslim neighbours🔹

Q : If a neighbour is a Kafir (non-Muslim), but he never disturbs me with regard to Ibadah (worship); is it permissible to give him from the Ud-hiyah (sacrificial animal offered by non-pilgrims) and from the Aqiqah (sacrifice for a newborn)? Respected Shaykh, we hope you will clarify this issue for us.

➡️A: It is permissible to give a Kafir from the meat of an Ud-hiyah or Aqiqah, as a way of showing kindness to the neighbor and fulfilling our Islamic duty as neighbors.

May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, his family and Companions!

Palace In Paradise

From Mua’dh bin al-Juhni the Companion of the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] from the Prophet [ﷺ] who said:

❝'Whoever reads «قُل هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ» 'Say, ‘He is Allaah, [who is] One' [Soorah Ikhlas] until he finishes it ten times then Allaah builds a Palace for him in Paradise as well as additional benefits.'

Umar said: ‘Then we will have a lot of Palaces O Messenger of Allaah!’

The Prophet [ﷺ] said:

‘Allaah has more and what is better.’❞
