Imam Shāfīʿī رحمه الله said:

"When a person intends to speak, then upon him is to think before he speaks.

Then if it is evident that there is some benefit then he may speak.

However, if there is doubt then do not speak, until it becomes clear (about whether it is beneficial or not)."

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“Allah has taken away your pride of Jaahiliyyah (ignorance) and your boasting about your forefathers. One is only a righteous believer or a doomed evildoer. You are the sons of Adam and Adam was created from dust. Men should stop boasting about their forefathers, who are no more than the coal of Hell, or they will certainly be more insignificant before Allah than the beetle that rolls dung with its nose.”

A saheeh (sound) hadeeth, narrated by Abu Dawood (5116) et al.
“It was said to some of the Salaf: ‘Does faith increase and decrease?’

They said: ‘Yes, it increases until it reaches the likes of the mountains and it decreases until it reaches the likes of mere dust particles.”

Majmū al-Fatāwa | 7/226 Shaykh ul-Islām ibn Taymiyyah

Translation: But perhaps you hate a thing and it’s good for you.

Reflection: There was nothing more hated to the mother of Moosa than her son falling into the hands of the family of Fir’awn, however this manifested into a wonderful outcome and its effects were good.

The two magic words

"Sorry" and "Thank you"

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “ He has not thanked Allah who has not thanked people .”
Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4811

It's not necessarily you hurt someone before you tell them "sorry".
It's not necessarily they buy you things before you tell them "Thank you".
Cultivate the habit of using this two words.
Truthfulness of Sincerity

Abu Uthmān Saīd ibn Isma'īl an-Naysābūrī (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

«صدق الإخلاص نسيان رؤية الخلق لدوام النَّظر إلى الخالق...»
The truthfulness of sincerity is to forget about the creation's looking [at you] out of constantly watching the Creator

Translated by Abu Anas Al Amrici
Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:

It is not sufficient that a person names himself with a Muslim name, or that he ascribes to Islaam by name. Rather he must know about the obligations and he must fulfill those obligations.

There are ten issues that are useless:

*1. Knowledge that is not acted on*

*2. The action (i.e. deed) that is not done sincerely nor is based on following the examples of the righteous*

*3. Money that is kept and not used as the one who owns it does not enjoy it during this life nor does he gain any reward for it in the Hereafter*

*4. The empty heart that does not love Allāh nor long for Him, not seeking to be close to Him*

*5. The body that does not obey Allāh or serve Him*

*6. Loving Allāh without following His commandments or seeking His pleasure*

*7. Time that is not spent in expiating sins or capturing and seizing opportunities to do good deeds*

*8. A mind that thinks about what is useless*

*9. Serving those who will not bring you closer to Allāh nor benefit you in your life*

*10. Fearing whoever is under the authority of Allāh and is in His Hand*

Make a lot of Istighfār as it is a barrier from the punishment of Allāh ﷻ

'and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness.'
‌‎[Sūrah al-Anfāl Āyah 33]

Moreover Allāh ﷻ mentions regarding the Muhsinūn & Muttaqūn that they would make Istighfār especially in the time before dawn...

"وبالأسحار هم يستغفرون"
'And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness.'

🔹Take Good Care of the Youth – Shaykh Al-Uthaymī

Shaykh Al-Uthaymīn (Allah have mercy on him) said:

The legislated texts came urging with (cultivating and) taking good care of the youth; directing them to that which is good, upright and proper.

Therefore, if the youth are upright and proper – and they are the foundation and future of this nation, their uprightness is built upon strong pillars of the religion and manners – in the future they will be a light for this nation and righteous successors for our scholars, inshā Allāh.

Allāh Be Pleased With Him

The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam said:

“Indeed Allāh has placed TRUTH upon Umar's tongue and his heart.”

Translated By: Sameeullaah Sameeullaah (Aboo Maryamm)
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,

"Do not laugh a lot. Much laughter kills the heart."
Sahih (Al-Albani)

Some Characteristics of Ahlus Sunnah

Ahlus Sunnah do not have a name, except (names whose meaning refers back to the) Sunnah. As for ahlul bidah, they either ascribe themselves to the person who innovated for them a religion or they are ascribed to the bidah they innovated. For example: Jahmi, Qadariy, Qaadiriy, Rifaa-iy, Raafidiy etc.

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

”And who is better in speech than he who [says: “My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness),” and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah’s (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: “I am one of the Muslims.” [Soorah Fussilat: Ayah:33] ”And says: I am one of the Muslims.” That is: Those who submit to His (Allaah’s) command and follow His path….” [1]

Ahlus Sunnah’s anoscription to the Sunnah [of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] is not a mere claim, rather it is an anoscription based on reality. The claims of the (people) are numerous and if they are not established with proofs, then they are mere claims. Ahlus Sunnah do not have names, except names that return back to the Sunnah, such as:

‘Ahlul Athar’ (i.e. the people who cling to the narrations of the companions and their followers);

‘Ahlul Hadeeth’ (i.e. the people who follow the narrations of the prophet and do not give precedence to any other thing over it);

Ahlul Ittibaa (i.e. the people who strictly follow the Sunnah of the Prophet and the companions and they do not innovate in the religion);

Ahlus Sunnah (i.e. the people who follow exactly the path of the Prophet in every aspect of his life-in creed, statements, actions etc)

As-Salafiyyah [i.e. the path of the Salaf (The Pious Predecessors)- and they are the first three righteous generations of Islaam (a) Prophet and his companions; (b) then those who followed them exactly in creed, methodology and understanding in all affairs of the religion; (c) and then those who followed exactly the true followers of the companions. These are the first three generations of Islaam whom the prophet (sallal-laahu-alahi-wasallam) informed us that they are the best of generations].
