*Abomination of Holding Conversation after ‘Isha’ (Night) Prayer* [FORGOTTEN SUNNAH ]

1746. Abu Barzah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) disliked going to bed before the Isha’ (night) prayer and indulging in conversation after it.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

1747. Ibn
Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: Once, towards the end of his life, the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) concluded the Isha’ (night) prayer and said, “After one hundred years from tonight none of the people on the surface of the earth will survive.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

1748. Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Once the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) delayed the
Isha’ (night) prayer till midnight. He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) turned to us after the prayer and said, “All the people slept after offering their prayers, but you who waited, will be accounted as if you were engaged in your prayer throughout the period.”

[Al-Bukhari].

CURSING TIME:

In the Qur’aan, Allaah says:

وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ

{And they say: "There is nothing but our life of this world, we die and we live AND NOTHING DESTROYS US EXCEPT AL-DAHR* (the time).} [Surah al-Jaathiyah (45): 24]

*The word al-Dahr means: “A long period of time”, “era”, “eon”, “epoch” etc.

۝۞۩۞۝

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

❝Allaah said: {The son of Aadam displeases Me by abusing the time, whereas I am Myself the time. In My Hand lay all the things and I am the One who causes the revolution of the day and night.}❞

[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (4826, 6181, 7491), Saheeh Muslim (5580, 5581, 5582, 5583, 5584), Sunan Abu Dawood (5274)]

۞

The statement of Allaah تعالى: “I am Myself the time” means: I am the one who controls and manages time as it is evident from the Hadeeth itself: “and I am the One who causes the revolution of the day and night” [Sharh Saheeh Muslim by Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen]

۝۞۩۞۝

Regarding this issue, people can be divided into three categories:

1) Those who condemn or blame Time, using phrases like:
a) What a bad day!
b) It is a black day!
c) Black Wednesday! (Or any other day of the week) [In the year 2010 and 2011, there were floods in Jeddah, and there was loss of lives and damages to the properties. On both the occasions it happened to be on Wednesday, and hence this phrase was being used in the media.]

Shaikh Ibn al-
Uthaymeen said: “If a person merely curses time because bad things are happening to him, then it is Haraam (prohibited). But if he believes that time is what causes things to alternate between good and bad then this is Shirk Akbar (Major Shirk) because when a person attributes events to something other than Allaah, this means that he believes that there is another creator alongside Allaah. [Paraphrased from al-Qawl al-Mufeed alaa Kitaab al-Tawheed]

***

2) Then there are those who go to the other extreme by (intentionally/unintentionally) attributing the good things to Time:
a) Time cures…
b) Time heals…
(Note: There is a difference between saying, “Time heals / Time is a healer” and “with time, it will heal.”)
c) Some even go as far as to say: “O such-and-such month, be easy on me.”

This also falls under Shirk Akbar (Major Shirk).

***

3) As for the third, they do not attribute good or bad to Time. They only relay the information on what has happened or is happening:
a) Ayyaam al-Jaahiliyyah (the days of ignorance).
b) We were facing difficulty today.

Shaikh Ibn al-
Uthaymeen said: “Where the intention is to only convey the information without blaming or condemning. This is permissible, such as when a person remarks, “We are suffering from the heat (or the cold) today” and the like, because deeds are judged according to their intentions, and in this case a person is merely describing what is happening without expressing discontent.” [Paraphrased from al-Qawl al-Mufeed `alaa Kitaab al-Tawheed]

🌍O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon your religion"🌍

يا مُقلِّبَ القُلُوْبِ

ثَبِّت قَلْبِي عَلَى دِيْنِكَ

Shahr bin Hawshab said;

“I said to Umm Salamah: ‘O Mother of the Believers! What was the supplication that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said most frequently when he was with you?” She said: ‘The supplication he said most frequently was: “O Changer of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion
(Yā Muqallibal-qulūb, thabbit qalbī alā dīnik).’”

She said: ‘So I said: “O Messenger of Allah, why do you supplicate so frequently: ‘O Changer of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.’ He said: ‘O Umm Salamah! Verily, there is no human being except that his heart is between Two Fingers of the Fingers of Allah, so whomsoever He wills He makes steadfast, and whomever He wills He causes to deviate.’”

🎯One of the best ways of succeeding in this world is to keep yourself busy at all times with that which is best for you and most beneficial for you in the Hereafter.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
♦️Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“The best act of worship is to strive to please the Lord at all times by doing that which is most appropriate and is expected at any particular time.”
[Madaarij as-Saalikeen, 1/88]

♦️Abu’l-Wafa’ ‘Ali ibn ‘Aqeel رحمه الله said:

“I do not allow myself to waste even one hour of my life; even when I am not reading anything or reciting anything, I would think whilst I am resting of some issues of knowledge and I will not get up until I have come up with something I can write down.”
🎖Virtues Of Seeking Knowledge📚

▪️‘Abu’d-Darda’ R.A narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Whoever follows a path in the pursuit of knowledge, Allaah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. The angels lower their wings in approval for the seeker of knowledge, and everyone in the heavens and on earth prays for forgiveness for the seeker of knowledge, even the fish in the sea. The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the moon over all other heavenly bodies. The scholars are the heirs of the Prophets, for the Prophets did not leave behind dinars or dirhams, rather they left behind knowledge, so whoever takes it has taken a great share.”

[Tirmidhi 2682, & Ibn Maajah 223; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Targheeb, 1/17]
🔹Abu Hurairah R.A narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive for that which will benefit you, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If anything befalls you, do not say, "if only I had done such and such" rather say "Qaddara Allahu wa ma sha'a fa'ala (Allah has decreed and whatever he wills, He does)." For (saying) 'If' opens (the door) to the deeds of Satan.”

[Sunan Ibn Majah 79]
⤴️🔸Ibn Mas'ud R.A narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"One of the things people have learned from the words of the earliest prophecies is,
"If you don't feel any shame, do whatever you like."

[Bulugh Al Maram 1568]
🔹Narrated 'Ibn `Abbas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) sent Mu'adh to Yemen and said, "Be afraid, from the curse of the oppressed as there is no screen between his invocation and Allah."

- Sahih al-Bukhari, Oppressions, Book 46, Hadith 9
Hadith on Repentance: If you did not sin, Allah would replace you with people who would sin and He would forgive them

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “By Him in whose hand is my soul, if you did not sin Allah would replace you with people who would sin and they would seek the forgiveness of Allah and He would forgive them.”

Purify Your Intention

You know you've lost it when you seek knowledge for one of the three:

It was narrated from Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنهم that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:

❝Whoever seeks knowledge in order to argue with the foolish,
or to show off before the scholars,
or to attract people's attention, Allaah will admit him to Hell.❞

🌍In the name of Allaah I perform Ruqyah for you🌍

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

Jibril (Gabriel) came to the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa Sallam) and said: “O Muhammad (Sallallaahu alaihi wa Sallam)! Do you feel sick?” He (Sallallaahu alaihi wa Sallam) said, “Yes.” Jibril supplicated thus (i.e., he performed Ruqyah):

بسم الله أرقيك ,من كلّ شيء يؤذيك ,من شر كلّ نفس أو عين حاسد ,الله يشفيك, بسم الله أرقيك

Bismillahi arqeek, min kulli shay’in yu’dheek, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin haasid, Allaahu yashfeek, Bismillaahi arqeek.

With the Name of Allah, I recite over you (to cleanse you) from all that troubles you, and from every harmful mischief and from the evil of the eyes of an envier. Allah will cure you; and with the Name of Allah, I recite over you.
