.
One day we were with the Messenger of Allah on this mountain path when he said:
.
Look! Do you see anything?’ We said: ‘We see a crow that is very strange. It’s beak and it’s legs are red.’

So Allah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
.
No one among women will enter Paradise except for those who have the similitude of this crow in strangeness.

We live in times where the halaal is uglified while the haraam is beautified:
- Pornography is called "adult entertainment"
- prostitutes are called "working girls"
- brothels are called "gentlemen's clubs"
- friends of zinaa are called friends with "benefits"
- husband's girlfriend on the side is called a "mistress"
- music is called "rhymes" or "harmonies"
- heroin is called "brown sugar"
- cocaine is called "candy"
- alcohol is called "strong drink"
- steroids is called "juice"
- ribaa is called "interest"
- homosexuals are called "gay"
- and now the LGBT flag is the colours of the rainbow.
Islamically, changing the name of something does not change its reality. Labeling the forbidden with a nice name is from the trademarks of shaytaan in order to belittle the gravity of its sin, don't be fooled.

"A man once came to Imām Ahlus-Sunnah, Ahmad bin Hanbal (Rahimahullah) and asked him, "O Imām, what is your opinion on poetry?"
He replied, “Which poetry is this?” to which the man responded by reciting the following couplets:
إذا ما قال لي ربي اما استحييت تعصيني
If my Lord asks me, “Have you shyness in disobeying me?
You conceal your sins from my creation – and with sins you come to me.”
Imām Ahmad took these lines and repeated them over and over again, and wept profusely to such an extent that one his students said that he almost perished due to him crying so much.
“If my Lord asks me…”
If my Lord asks me, “Have you shyness in disobeying me?
You conceal your sins from my creation – and with sins you come to me.”
So how will I answer? O woe to me – and who shall protect me?
I keep averting my soul with thoughts of hope – from time to time.
And I forget what is to come after death – and what is to come after I am shrouded.
As if I am guaranteed life (eternally) – and that death will not come to me.
And when the severe stupor of death overtakes me – who will protect me?
I looked at the faces; is there not from amongst them who will ransom me?
I will be asked regarding what I have prepared in my life to save me (on the Day of Judgement).
Then how will I answer – after I have neglected my religion.
Woe to me! Did I not hear the Speech of Allāh inviting me?
Did I not hear what came in (the chapters of) Qāf and Yā-Sīn?
Did I not hear about the Day of Gathering, the Day of Assemble and the Day of Judgement?
Did I not hear the crier of death inviting me, calling me?
So O my Lord, a slave (turning to you) I have repented – so who then shall shelter me?
Except a Lord extensive in forgiveness – to the truth He will guide me.
I have come to you (in repentance) – so have mercy on me, and make heavy my scales (with good deeds).
And lighten my account – You are the best of who will bring me to account.

“The people of innovation are of two types:
The [first] type are those who call to misguidance. They are to be boycotted and punished with a severe punishment and prevented from giving da’wah.
The other type are the common people who have been deceived. We hold them to be innovators but we call them to Allaah with wisdom and good admonition.
We do not boycott them, but we do not sit with them either. Rather, we call them to Allaah in the mosques and in the market places. We call them through tapes and books.
We present to them the truth, we clarify the falsehood and warn them against it, so that Allaah can guide those who He wants good for and as for those who Allaah does not want good for, then they will not benefit from any of that.
And we warn against the stubborn individual who is persistent upon innovation."

Levels of prayer
Ibn al Qayyim[Rahimu'Allah] said: When it comes to prayer, people are of five levels:
1) The first level is the one who wrongs himself and is negligent. He does not do wudoo’ properly, or pray at the right time or make sure he does all the necessary parts of prayer.
2) The second is one who observes the outward essentials of prayer, prays on time and does wudoo’, but he has lost the battle against his own self and is overwhelmed with waswa'as (whispers)
3) The third is one who observes the outward essentials of prayer, prays on time and does wudoo’, and also strives against his own self and against waswaas, but he is preoccupied with his struggle against his enemy (i.e. the Shaytan), lest he steal from his prayer, so he is engaged in salah and jihad at the same time.
4) The fourth is one who when he stands up to pray, he fulfils all the requirements of the prayer, and his heart is fully focused and alert lest he omit anything, and his concern is to do the prayer properly and perfectly. His heart is deeply immersed in his prayer and worship of his Lord.
5) The fifth is one who does all of that, but he takes his heart and places it before his Lord, looking at his Lord with his heart and focusing on Him, filled with love and adoration, as if he is actually seeing Him. That waswaas and those thoughts diminish, and the barriers between him and his Lord are lifted. The difference between the prayer of this person and the prayer of anyone is else is greater than the difference between heaven and earth. When this person prays, he is preoccupied with his Lord and content with Him.
The first type is punishable; the second is accountable; the third is striving so he is not counted as a sinner; the fourth is rewarded and the fifth is drawn close to his Lord, because he is one of those for whom prayer is a source of joy.
Whoever finds their joy in Salah in this life, will find their joy in being close to Allah in the Hereafter, and will also find his joy in Allah in this world. Whoever finds his joy in Allah will be content with everything, and whoever does not find his joy in Allah, will be destroyed by his feelings of grief and regret for worldly matters.

Don’t destroy yourself trying to save another
Advice to those who rush to give Fatwa
Every so often a brother or sister will have a very serious, time sensitive question requiring an Islamic ruling. Often these questions are presented to the masses on internet forums. Out of concern, many of the laypeople rush to respond to these questions or give advice; desiring to alleviate their brother of his hardship; while unaware they may be plunging themselves into a greater hardship.
Save yourself first!
Shaykh Fawzan said
1: When you are asked a question, seek to exonerate yourself. You do not simply want a way out (for the questioner), or to find the easiest solution (for the questioner); rather what you want is to free yourself from blame in front of Allah the Exalted on the Day of Judgment. Thus it is not permissible for the person delivering the Fatwa to seek concessions for the people, rather he only rules according to what is proven in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger peace be upon him, and what the major Imams of this Ummah are upon; if he knows this. And if he does not know this he remains silent and sends the affair to someone else.
It’s not your job to answer questions!
Shaykh Fawzan said: Allah has not burdened you with responding to questions for that which you have no proof for the answer from the Book and the Sunnah. Allah has not made this your responsibility. The question is given to the people of knowledge; take the question to the scholars and let them assume the responsibility of answering it. Thus you will be safe, and the questioner will be safe also. This is sincerity to the questioner.
You’re doing more harm than good!
Shaykh Fawzan said: As for you giving a Fatwa without firm knowledge, this is from deception and the Prophet peace be upon him said: ‘Whoever deceives us is not from us.’ (Sahih Muslim 101) This is from deception, while you think you are benefitting him, and removing him from his crisis! You are chaining him to his crisis and adding
a catastrophe to his crisis!
1
Reading Fatwa Islamiya does not qualify you as a Mufti!
Shaykh Fawzan said: As for responding to every questioner and answering every question, then it is no doubt the person will fall into many mistakes. This is because he is not cautious, nor does he pause concerning any matter. And he does not know everything. That which he is ignorant of, is more than what he knows; and this is if he has knowledge. His ignorance outweighs his knowledge. Allah the Exalted said:
ِ َ ٍ ْ ِ ِ ِّ ُ َ ْ َ َ But over every possessor of knowledge is one [more] knowing. (Soorah Yusuf 12:76)

The Prophet Yusha Conquered Al-Quds in Palestine:
"The sun has never stopped for any man besides Yusha when he wanted to conquer Bayt al-Muqaddis." [Hadith Sahih al-Bukhari, Ahmad – it was graded authentic by Ibn Katheer, Ibn Hajar, and Al-Albani].
The full story of Yusha ibn Nun is told to us in a sahih hadith of the Prophet, (Sallallahu' 'alayhi wa sallam), recorded in Sahih Muslim 19/4327. The Prophet, (Sallallahu' 'alayhi wa sallam), said:
"One of the Prophets made a holy war. He said to his followers: One who has married a woman and wants to consummate to his marriage but has not yet done so; another who has built a house but has not yet erected its roof; and another who has bought goats and pregnant she-camels and is waiting for their offspring-will not accompany me … "
'[This Prophet did not want any person to come with him whose heart may be attached to anything else. This is a Prophet who is not looking for numbers but rather for ikhlas (sincerity)].
The Prophet Muhammad, (Sallallahu' 'alayhi wa sallam), continued:
" ... So he marched on and approached a village at or about the time of the Asr prayers. He said to the sun: You are receiving orders and I am receiving orders from Allah, O Allah stop the sun! It was stopped for him until Allah granted him victory."
We know this Prophet was Yusha ibn Nun because of a separate narration recorded by Imam Ahmad in which the Prophet, (Sallallahu' 'alayhi wa sallam), said:
"The sun has never stopped for any man besides Yusha when he wanted to conquer Bayt al-Muqaddis."
Yusha’ ibn Nun (Joshua) was a prophet of Allah. He was the descendant of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), may Allah exalt his mention.
In Tareekh Dimashq
(History of Damascus), Ibn ʻAsaakir (Rahimahullah) said about him, “His full name was Yusha’ ibn Nun ibn Afraa'eem ibn Yusuf ibn Yaʻqub ibn Is-haaq ibn Ibraaheem, may Allaah exalt their mention. He was the servant boy of Musa (Moses) ibn ʻImraan and his successor over his nation after him. He accompanied Musa to the land of Kanʻaan in Al-Balqaa’ near Damascus.”
Muhammad ibn Is-haaq (Rahimahullah) said:
“He was the servant of prophet Musa, who was with him (in the story mentioned in the Chapter 18 of the Quran). He received prophecy from Allah at the time of Musa and he was a prophet after him. He conquered Jericho and killed the Jabaabirah (the inhabitants of Jerusalem who were a large giant-like people). Yusha’ ibn Nun feared that if night came, he would not be able to eradicate the remnants of the Jabaabirah, so he asked Allah to make the sun stop from setting until he would eradicate them; and the sun stopped by the command of Allah until he did so. He was appointed as successor of Musa over the Israelites by the command of Allah.
His Death:
The Children of Israel lived in Jerusalem for some time and the prophet Yusha taught them the Torah and ruled according to it. Ibn Kathir says that he lived up to be 127 years old. He lived 27 years after the death of Prophet Musa (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all).

Guidelines on Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil:
Knowledge:
In order to enjoin good and forbid evil, you must know the principles governing them and how to distinguish between them. Actions will not be any good if they are not done with full knowledge and wisdom. `Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz said, "Whoever worships Allah without knowledge, will do more damage than what he puts right."
Mu'adh Ibn Jabal said: "Knowledge should precede action, because if action and intention are done without knowledge, then ignorance, misguidance and desires will prevail." So if a believer knows that by forbidding a particular evil, his action will lead to a greater evil, then he should not forbid that evil in the first place; or if his action will lead to the elimination of what is of greater benefit to the Muslims, then again, he should not forbid that evil.
The Prophet Salalahualihiwasalam did not kill Abdullah Ibn Ubai Ibn Salul, the leader of the hypocrites, and his friends, because they enjoyed significant support from among their tribes. So the Prophet avoided killing Abdullah Ibn Ubai Ibn Salul, because people might think that he was killing his companions, and also because Abdullah Ibn Ubai Ibn Salul's tribe might have risen up against the Prophet , and sought to avenge their leader's death. Accordingly, you must consider the issues of maslaha and mafsada before embarking on enjoining good and forbidding evil.
"Maslaha (plural: masa'lih): considerations of public interest, human welfare, utility, and human good. Ash- Sha'tibi said: "What concerns the subsistence of human life, the wholeness of his way of life, and the acquiring of what man's emotional and intellectual faculties require of him in their absolute sense."
Mafsada (plural: mafa'sid): Evil, namely anything which violates these essential values of deen, life, intellect, lineage and property; the opposite of maslaha."

Allah Guides not the plot of the betrayers.
Narrated Ibn 'Umar (RA): The Prophet (salallahu alayhi wa salem) said, "For every betrayer (perfidious person), a flag will be raised on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be announced (publicly): 'This is the betrayal (perfidy) of so-and-so, the son of so-and-so.''' [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 8/6177 (O.P.196)]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
خَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا كَانَ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ
The best charity is what you give when you are independent, and you should start with spending on your dependents.
