Ibn al-Qayyim, in Al-Fawā'id said:

❝So show no concern for the praise of the one whose praise cannot adorn you in any way, nor for the blame of one whose blame can do nothing to disfigure or dishonor you. And seek the praise of the One in whose praise is all honor and in whose blame is all disgrace.❞

Maymun b. Mihran Describes The Salaf He Met
It is reported that Maymūn b. Mihrān – Allāh have mercy on him – said:

I have met men in front of whom I would be ashamed to speak, and I have met men who used to say nothing but the truth, or be silent. And I have met men who had never seen the sky properly, out of fear of their Lord.

Shaykh AbdulAziz bin Baz -Rahimahullaah- said:
“توزيع الكتب والأشرطة النافعة الصادرة من علماء السنة من أفضل القربات، لأن ذلك من نشر العلم والدعوة إلى الخير”.

‘Distributing beneficial books and cassettes authored by the scholars of the Sunnah is from the best ways of coming closer to Allaah. That is because it is distributing knowledge and inviting to goodness.’

Knowledge and Manners...

Abu Zakariyya Al 'Anbari said:

"Knowledge without manners is like fire without wood. And manners without knowledge is like a soul without body."

🔘 How to identify what your state will be like in the grave?

🎓 Ibn al-Qayyim said:

❝The state of a person in the grave will be like the state of the heart in the chest; in bliss or facing punishment, imprisoned or roaming freely. If you want to know what your state in the grave will be like, then look at the state of your heart in your chest.

💠 If the your heart is filled with joy and tranquility, and is pure (clean from pride, envy and other evils) - then by the Will of Allaah, the same will be your state in the grave. And it's opposite is also true.

💠 This is why you find that a person - who is obedient (to Allaah), and has good manners (with the creation), and who is forgiving (and kind) - to be the most tranquil (and at rest).

💠 Faith takes away distress, removes the grief, and it (Faith) is the coolness of the eyes of the one upon Tawheed (monotheism), and (the means of) comfort for the worshipers.

➡️ Whoever is preoccupied with Tasbeeh (saying: Sub-haan Allaah), his private affairs will be taken care of.

➡️ And whoever is preoccupied with al-Hamd (saying: alhamdulillaah), he will be given bounties one after the other.

➡️ And whoever is preoccupied with al-Istighfaar, the locked (doors) will be opened for him.❞

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said: "Whoever loves this worldly life, will estimate its value, he will make himself a slave to it and it will humiliate him. And whoever neglects it, will notice his great value, it will humiliate itself for him."

‎● [الفوائد صحفة ١٦٠]
Shaykh ul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

“You should not look at what a person used to do [in the past], rather you should look at what kind of person they are today. The one who gets bogged down about people’s pasts, is just like Iblees who said to Allāh, ‘You created me from fire and you created him from clay””

Al-Ḥasan said, "Knowledge is of two types: knowledge that is superficial utterance upon the tongue, that is Allāh's proof against the children of Ādam; and knowledge that takes root in the heart and that is beneficial knowledge."

The Weapon of the Lowly

Abū Ja'far al-Qurashī said:

"It used to be said: The weapon of the lowly person is vile speech."

The Prophet, sallaAllahu alayhi wa salam, said:
"The parable of myself and the people is that of a man who lit a fire. When it illuminated its surroundings, the moths and other creatures which are attracted to light began to fall into it. He began to pull them out of the fire, but they overwhelmed him and continued to fall into it. I am the one pulling you away from the fire, but you keep going headlong into it."

BRACESTATTOO
REMOVING HAIR FROM EYEBROWS

Narrated 'Alqamah that Abdullah Bin Mas'ud radiAllahu anhu said,

"Allah azzawajaal curses those ladies who practise tattooing and those who get themselves tattooed, and those ladies who get their hair removed from their eyebrows and faces except the beard and moustache, and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth in order to look more beautiful whereby they change Allah's creation."
His saying reached a lady from Banu Asad, called Umm Ya'qub, who came to Abdullah and said, " I have come to know that you have cursed such-and-such (ladies)?"

He replied, "Why should I not curse these whom Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم has cursed and who are cursed in Allah's Book!"
Umm Ya'qub said, "I have read the whole Qurân, but I did not find in it what you say."
He said: " Verily, if you have read it (Qurân) you have found it.

He replied, Didn't you read " And whatsoever the Messenger salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain from it, " [Surah Al-Hashr 59:7 ]
She replied, "Yes, I did"
He ('Abdullah) said, "Verily, Allah's Messenger salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam forbade such things. "

She said, " But I see your wife doing these things? "
He said, "Go and watch her".
She went and watched her but could not see anything in support of her statement .
On that he ('Abdullah) said, " If my wife was as you thought, I would not keep her in my company ( I would divorce her) . "

Ibn al-Qayyim Rahimahullahu Ta'ala said:

“Allah sometimes gives the earth permission to breathe, which is when major earthquakes happen; this makes people feel scared, so they repent, give up sins, pray to Allah and feel regret [for their sins]. When there had been an earthquake, some of the Salaf said: ‘Your Lord is warning you.’ When Madeenah was struck by an earthquake, ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with you) addressed the people and said: ‘If there is another earthquake, I will not stay here with you.’”

The Noble Scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih Al-'Uthaymīn رحمه الله stated:

"Be firm and do not change due to the abundance of attacks against you or the revilement of your speech so long as you are upon the truth. Be firm, for it's not possible for the truth to be budged."

[Sharh An-Nūniyyah 3/270]

Translated by Abu Yusuf Khaleefah hafidahullah
‘Before the coming of the Hour there will be fitnahs like patches of dark night. A person shall awaken in the morning a believer but by the evening become a disbeliever, or in the evening be a believer but by morning become a disbeliever; and people will sell their religion in order to acquire some portion of the world.’
