ANXIETY, GRIEF AND SADNESS
Indeed the servant in this life may be afflicted with various types of pain, and it is possible that numerous events may cause restlessness to his heart, bring pain to his soul and result in him suffering from irritation and worry.
If the pain that afflicts the heart is connected with affairs from the past then it is sadness.
If it is connected with affairs of the future, then it is anxiety.
If it is connected to something that the individual is currently experiencing and going through, then it is grief.
These three affairs: sadness, anxiety, and grief, are removed from the heart and they vanish from it by truly returning to Allāh, [having] complete humility, subservience, submissiveness to Him - Glorified be He - and surrender to His command. [Likewise, having] belief in His Decree and Preordainment, knowledge of Him - Glorified be He - and knowledge of His Names and Attributes.
This is achieved through belief in His Books, and being diligent to recite it, contemplate over it, and act upon that which is within it.
This is the only way - and there is no other way - for these things to disappear, for the breast to be content, and happiness to be attained.

LIFE IS A WARZONE AND A BATTLEFIELD
I find mankind standing in the battlefront with the devils (shayātīn) constantly shooting arrows of desired (hawā) at them; and hitting them with the swords of pleasures.
The ones who follow their sinful desire drop instantly dead, while the righteous ones continue to struggle and strive. With the long standing in the battlefield comes wounds and so they are wounded and treated, yet they are protected against death in such battle.
However, a scar in the face [i.e. major sins] is a disgrace that remains, therefore let those who strive beware of that!

If you see your brothers and sisters inflicted with tests while you are protected from them:
1. Worry for yourself. Allah tests those He loves, beginning with the Prophets & then those most similar to them.
2. Thank Ar-Rahman for His bounty & mercy upon you and your family.

At the beginning of Surah al-Mulk (67), Allah describes Himself by saying:
[الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ ]
"He who created death and life in order to test you - which of you is the best in actions. And He is the Almighty, the Forgiving." [02]
Sheikh Muhammad al-Shawkani mentioned the following in his explanation:
[الموت انقطاع تعلق الروح بالبدن ومفارقته له ، والحياة تعلق الروح بالبدن واتصاله به ]
Death is a disconnection of the soul's link to the body and a separation of one from the other, while life is the connection and attachment of the soul to the body.

Mixing with the people rather than Isolating them❗️
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“The believer who mixes with people and patiently bears their annoyance will have a greater reward than the believer who does not mix with people and patiently bear their annoyance.”

It must be clarified that during times of widespread trials and tribulations, isolation is preferable in the case of one who fears for his religious commitment.

A man set out to visit his brother from another town and Allah sent an angel to him. When the man met the angel, he was asked: Where are you going? The man said: I am visiting my brother in this town. The angel said: Are you returning a favor? He said: No, I have desire to visit him except that I love him for the sake of Allah the Exalted. The angel said: I am a messenger from Allah to tell you that Allah loves you as you love him.

It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say in his prayer:

Shaykh 'Abdul-'Aziz ibn Baaz - The Shaykh - رحمه الله - said,
“Visiting the sick.” This is the right of the sick person upon his brothers. They take advantage of visiting him by supplicating for him to be healed and recover. They invigorate him and give him optimism.
The Shaykh said, “Following the funeral procession for the prayer and burial.” This is from the rights of the Muslim upon his brothers, and it results in a tremendous reward. The Prophet ﷺ said:
❝Whoever accompanies the funeral (the dead body) until he performs the funeral prayer will have a reward equal to one qīrāt, and whoever accompanies the burial procession will be doubly rewarded (with two qīrāt).❞ They then asked, “What is meant by the two qīrāt?” He ﷺ replied, ❝Like two huge mountains.❞ [1]
