Be good manners with your family first.

“Indeed those of the people who have the highest status in goodness and are the most rightful in being characterised with the truth are those who are the best of the people to their wives.

Indeed the wife and family are those who have the most right to joy and happiness, deserving of good manners and kindness, and bringing them benefit and repelling harm from them.

When a man is like this then he is the best of the people and if he is the opposite of that, then he is at the other extreme of evil.

There are many of the people who fall into this dilemma, so you see a man who when he meets his family he is the worst of the people in manners, the most miserly person and the least of the people with goodness.

When he meets other than his family, non-relatives he becomes soft and timid, has delightful manners, and improves himself, and his goodness increases.

There is no doubt that the person who is like this then he is prohibited from success, has deviated away from the correct path. We ask Allaah for security.”

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allaah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. (Among this seven will be): ‘a youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allaah.’”

Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“ ‘Youth’ (al-Shaab) is an age between 15 years and 30 years.”
[Sharh Riyaadh al-Saaliheen (1/462)]
Sufyān Ath-Thawrī رحمه الله stated:

"If you fear Allāh, He will make you self-sufficient, not in need of the people. And if you fear the people (instead of fearing Allāh), they will never be able to help you against Allāh in anything."

Like The Body

On the authority of An-Nu’maan Bin Basheer in a narration ascribed to the Prophet [ﷺ]:

❝The example of the believers in their affection, mercy and compassion for each other is like the body: if a limb of it complains due to an illness, it affects the rest of the body with sleeplessness and fever.❞

THE STARS HAVE NOT CONTROL OVER ANYTHING

Imaam Barbahaaree rahimahullaah said:

Look into the stars sparingly, just enough to help you to know the times of the prayer. And turn away from whatever besides that, since it invites to apostasy

Narrated Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani: The Prophet (ﷺ) led us in the Fajr prayer at Hudaibiya after a rainy night. On completion of the prayer, he faced the people and said,

“Do you know what your Lord has said (revealed)?” The people replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He said, “Allah has said,

‘In this morning some of my slaves remained as true believers and some became non-believers; whoever said that the rain was due to the Blessings and the Mercy of Allah had belief in Me and he disbelieves in the stars, and whoever said that it rained because of a particular star had no belief in Me but believes in that star.’ “

[Al-Bukhari] [Muhsin Khan’s Translation]

Qatadah (radi Allaahu anhu) said,

“These stars were only created for three purposes: Allah created them as adornment for the heaven (sky), as missiles for the devils and as signs for navigation. Therefore, whoever seeks to interpret any other meanings for them other than these, then verily he has spoken with his own opinion, he has lost his portion and burdened himself with that which he has no knowledge of.”

Ibn Jarir and Ibn Abi Hatim both recorded this statement.

Abu Hurairah narrated:⁣

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. #Police_brutality_is_a_sign_of_the_Hour

Shaykh Muhammad b.Saalih Uthaymeen (d.1421H/2001) commented on this Hadith saying,

“[These are] the oppressive police officers who beat the people without justification. They are from the dwellers of Hell because whoever aids an oppressor shall receive a portion of their sin that he deserves.

Abu Huraira reported:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: “If you survive for a time you would certainly see people who would have whips in their hands like the tail of an ox. They would go out in the morning under the wrath of Allah and they would return in the evening with the anger of Allah.”

[Sahih Muslim 2857]

Al-Hafiz An-Nawwawi (d.676H/1277) said:

“They are those appointed as the police.”

[Sharh Muslim of Nawwawi 17/277]

He also said, “This is referring to the oppressive police officers.”

Making Dua for each other removes hatred, envy and jealousy we might have in our hearts towards each other.

It’s a good Islamic and moral practice, if you feel jealous of someone (even from your own family members) and you don’t know how to control it, make Dua for that very same person behind their back. It helps a lot!!!

Ibn Taymiyyah’s Attitude Upon Entering Prison

It was related that when Ibn Taymiyyah was being transported by the ruler’s representative to prison in Alexandria, a bystander saw him and said: “My master, this is the time for patience.”

So, Ibn Taymiyyah looked at him and replied: “Rather, this is the time to be thankful. By Allah, such joy and happiness are descending upon my heart at this moment that if it was divided between the people of Sham and Egypt, there would be some left over, and if I had that amount in gold and distributed it, it would not equal even a tenth of the blessing that I am experiencing.”

Later on, on Monday the 6th of the month of Sha’ban 726 AH, he was again arrested on orders from the ruler, and was ordered transferred to the Citadel Prison in Damascus. When he first learned of this, he said: “I was waiting for this, and this contains great benefit.” When he was later in the prison, he said: “If this prison was exchanged for its weight in gold, I would not consider this to be enough to repay this blessing I am in and the good that it has brought me.”

When he entered the grounds of the Citadel Prison in Damascus, he stood and looked at its walls, reciting the verse: “…So a wall will be put up between them with a gate therein. Inside it will be mercy, and from the outside, it will be torment.” [al-Hadid; 13]
