Ten Points for the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الحمد لله و الصلاة و السلام على نبيينا محمد و على آله و سلم

1. The first ten days are actually nine days with the addition of the day of Eid. It is called the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, but only nine of it is for fasting as the tenth day is the beginning of Eid. It is impermissible to fast on the day of Eid, this is a consensus amongst the people of knowledge.

2. It is permissible to fast the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah with the last day being the day of Arafah for those not doing Hajj. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said in a hadith narrated by ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما (in at-Tirimidhi): “There are not any days that good deeds are more beloved to Allah than those done in these ten days.”

3. In these days, it is recommended that there is a lot of remembrance of Allah سبحان و تعالى – this is for all of the ten days.

4. In these days, it is recommended that one makes takbir of Allah (saying Allahu akbar) – this is for all of the ten days.

5. In these days, it is recommended to read the Qur’an as much as possible and give charity – this is for all of the ten days.

6. The ninth day is the day of Arafah. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said in an authentic narration: “Verily on the day of Arafah there is expiation of sins for the year before and the year after” (narrated by Abi Qatada رضي الله عنه, reported in Sahih Muslim and At-Tirmidhi). So therefore it is a great day, so it is recommended to fast that day for those not doing Hajj. Fasting is only permissible for the first nine days as the tenth day is the day of Eid.

7. Allah تعالى said: “That they may witness things that are of benefit to them (i.e. reward of Hajj in the Hereafter, and also some worldly gain from trade), and mention the name of Allah on appointed days (i.e. 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah), over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice). (Surah al-Hajj: 28). Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما said: “The appointed days are the days of Arafah (9th), an-Nahr (10th) and the days of Tashreeq (11th, 12th and 13th ).

8. Whoever wishes to slaughter in these days it is not allowed to cut or remove any hair from his body or his nails, but this does not apply to his family, only the head of the family who is doing the slaughtering.

9. The ruling regards to slaughtering:
a. An individual who slaughters from his own wealth on behalf of himself and his family – It is not permissible for this individual to shave any hair from his body, remove any part of his skin or cut his nails.

b. An individual who slaughters from his own wealth for others e.g. he wishes to slaughter for his father or his mother – He too must not cut his hair, take from his skin or cut his nails.
c. Anybody who wishes to slaughter with someone else’s wealth, for somebody else .e.g. He has been entrusted by someone else to slaughter cattle for him – This individual is allowed to cut his hair, nails and skin etc.

10. Eid Al-Adha is four days in total: the tenth (the day of Eid prayer) and the days of tashreeq (the eleventh, twelve and thirteenth days of Dhul-Hijjah). It is impermissible to fast in these days for those not performing the Hajj. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “The days of Tashreeq are days for eating, drinking and remembering Allah عز وجل” (narrated by Abi al-Maleeh رضي الله عنه, reported in Sahih Al-Muslim). Allah سبحان وتعالى said: “And remember Allah during the appointed Days.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 203).

He (Umarah bin Hadid رضى الله عنه) said: "When he sent out a raiding party or an army, he would send them at the beginning of the day." He said: "Sakhr was a man engaged in trade, and he used to send his goods out at the beginning of the day, and his wealth grew and increased."

Morning time is the blessed time.

❝The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord.❞
- Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ on the death of his son Ibrahim
[Bukhari | http://sunnah.com/bukhari/23/62]

No matter what you lose or who you lose. Even in your grief and heartbreak remember Allah needs to be a priority. People come and people go. Things come and things get old or lost or spoiled. With everything happening in our life there is only one constant and that is ALLAH.
Enjoining Good & Forbidden Evil is nothing but Charity.
Imam Aḥmad Ibn Hanbal رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ said:

‎"Changing evil with one’s hand is not done with swords or weapons."

‎(Jāmi’ al-‘Ulūm wal-Ḥikam 34).
When a person came along way from Morocco to ask 40 questions from İmam Mâlik
İmam Mâlik only answered 4 questions and to others 36 questions he only answered :Allah knows best ,
Then this person said: i came from so far ,you only answered my 4 questions, what should I say to my people who asked these questions ,imam Mâlik said ,tell them İmam Mâlik dosn't know!

Nowadays you can find many ignorant "shaykhs"are giving fitawa to all questions that he met,and making too much trouble in Muslim society ,and even turning people far way from straight path

Astaghfirullah ,
Ali, the son of Husayn, visited Muhammad ibn Usama while he was lying on his deathbed. Muhammad ibn Usama started weeping. When Ali asked him, "Why are you weeping?" He said, I have debt on me. Ali asked him, "How much"? He said, "fifteen thousand Dinars" or he said, "more than ten thousand dinars"

Ali, the son of Husayn said, "I will pay all of your loan."

- Ibn Asakir in Tarikh Damishq 41/385
A Muslim must have Imaan in Qadr (pre-destiny). Everything that happens is by the Qadr of Allah Subhaana wa ta'aala & He has knowledge of everything that will happen.

Nothing is by chance. Everything was written in the Preserved Tablet (al lawh al mahfoodh).

Beware of the followers of Qadariyyah sect who deny al Qadr.
Shaykhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyāh رحمه الله تعالى said:

‎“The Saḥāba رضي الله عنهم are the source of all knowledge, righteousness, guidance, & mercy in Islām.”

*Words of Wisdom*

- Through giving zakaat, you will cleanse your wealth.

- Through giving sadaqah, you will cure your sick.

- If you speak less, eat less and have less freedom, you will always remain happy and content.

- The example of performing salaah in the earliest time is like eating freshly cooked food. The first person to dish out enjoys it the most. As time goes by, it will not be the same. Performing salaah towards the end of the time is like eating leftovers.

- Do not become so sweet that people chew you up, and do not become so bitter that people spit you out.

- If you keep silent, you are like a king (i.e. you will maintain your honour and dignity).

- Do not allow a rooster to be better than you, where he is awake while you are still asleep (in the early part of the morning).

- If you remain silent, no person will be able to judge you.

- A person who carries tales is worse than a thief - he steals the wealth of friendship.

- Wasting is a sign that poverty is coming your way. Some wives are such that they will make money from dirt, and some are such that they will waste, even if their husbands earn millions.

- In remaining silent, there are thousands of benefits.

- Look at the good qualities of people rather than their faults. Each person has weaknesses, but everyone will also possess at least one good quality. If we look at every person’s good quality and inculcate it, we will become full of good qualities.

- Do not ever have any expectation from any person

- Through making du‘aa, you will ward off the difficulty that was coming your way.
hadith:A man came to the prophet and said, 'My brother has got loose motions. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, Let him drink honey." The man again (came) and said, 'I made him drink (honey) but that made him worse.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Allah has said the Truth, and the `Abdomen of your brother has told a lie." (Hadith 5716, shaih bukhari)

commentry:When the Prophet A first ordered the man to give his brother honey, he did not give him a sufficient amount to cure his condition. When the man said that his brother was not cured, the Prophet s& knew that the dose was not sufficient, so he told the man several times to give his brother more honey, so that the dose would reach a sufficient amount. When the sick person has several doses of honey in a sufficient amount to fight the disease, thecure occurs by Allah's permission.

Much needed advice from Ibn Taymiyyah 👍

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

"Many people, when they see evil or when the Muslim ummah goes through a lot of trouble, panic, lose hope and start complaining as people who are beset by calamities do. But this is forbidden; rather what is enjoined is to be patient, to put one’s trust in Allah, to be steadfast in adhering to the religion of Islam and to believe that Allah is with those who fear Him and those who do good, and that the best end is for those who fear Him; whatever befalls him is because of his sins, so he should be patient, for the promise of Allah is true; he should seek forgiveness for his sins and glorify and praise his Lord morning and evening."

Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa, 18/295
Me ☞ Myself and ☞ I

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimahullaah) said:‘Every Muslim should be warned of the oppression of:

I

My

Mine

I Possess ’

Indeed these three words are what:

🔹Iblees' (Shaytan),

🔹Fir’awn and

🔹Qaroon were tried with...!

Iblees said:

‘I am better than him’.

Fir’awn said:

‘Is not Mine the Kingdom of Egypt,’ ?

Qaroon said:

‘This has been given to me only because
of knowledge I possess.’

So regarding the saying of the Slave of Allaah : ‘I’ ..then the best that he can be described with is...

'I am a slave who sins, makes mistakes,
seeks forgiveness and recognizes this.

So regarding the saying of ‘My/Mine’
and those statements similar to that is:

“my Sins,
my Crimes,
my Humbleness,
my Deprevation
and Submissiveness.”

So regarding the saying of ‘I Possess’:

“Forgive me for my mistakes and what I do intentionally,in jest, or in seriousness
and I possess all these shortcomings.”

Al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

If a person intends two good things by his action: the good of this world and the good of the Hereafter, there is nothing wrong with that [i.e., no blame and no sin on him] because Allah says :
“And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).
And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.”
[al-Talaq 65:2-3]

al-Qawl al-Mufeed (2/244)
"How can I advice when I fall short?"

Al-Hafidh Ibn Rajab رحيم الله said,

"If only the perfect, free from sins people gave advice, nobody would have ever advised anyone after the messenger of Allah [ﷺ] , because there is no perfection for anyone after him [ﷺ]."

[lataa'if al-ma'aarif. pg. 19]
Do You Possess The Characteristics Of Jealousy?

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-'Uthaymeen, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"When you see yourself disliking that Allaah blesses other than you with knowledge, wealth, good character, good health, or the likes of that, know that you have within you jealousy.

Try to eradicate it."

Don't be Sad - La Tahzan:

If you are stricken by poverty...others are chained in debt.
If you don't have shoes ... others have no feet.

If you have committed a mistake...correct it - the doors of repentance ever open!
The fountain of forgiveness is ever rich
So dont be sad, let all bygones be bygones.

What is predestined for you, you shall see it happen.

Being sad will not change anything
So dont be sad
Sadness spoils your life
So dont be sad.

Supplication is your shield
Prayer is your beacon
So dont be sad
Prostrration is your means ...
So dont be sad.

See how vast is the Earth, How nice are the gardens and forests
How bright are the stars - all are happy but you are sad...
So dont be sad.

You have sweet water to drink - fresh air to breather - feet to walk with
You sleep safely in your bed
So dont be sad.

Every cloud has a silver lining
After long nights come the bright sun
Life will soon give you a smile
So be ready to get it
And dont be sad!

Real life is that spent in happiness
So cross out your sad days from your age! Peace of mind is the real treasure.

Abu Hurayra reported Allaah's Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said: "Look at those who are inferior to you and do not look at those who are superior to you, for that is more likely to keep you from despising Allaah's favour on you"

Shaikh A'id al Qarni gave us the above advice in his book La Tahzan (Don't be sad).
Character is a thief, it steals from other characters. A reason to be careful from bad friends.
