The Month Of Rajab
The month of Rajab is one of the sacred months of which Allaah says ..
“Verily, the number of months with Allaah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allaah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred . That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein”
[al-Tawbah 9:36]
The sacred months are: Rajab, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram.
These months are called sacred for two reasons:
🔹Because fighting therein is forbidden unless initiated by the enemy
🔹Because transgression of the sacred limits therein is worse than at other times.
Hence Allaah has forbidden us to commit sins during these months.
Sin in general is forbidden and haraam but during these Sacred Months it is more forbidden .

Allah said next...
(That is the right religion), that is the Straight Law, requiring implementing Allah’s order concerning the months that He made sacred and their true count as it was originally written by Allah.
Allah said...
( so wrong not yourselves therein) during these Sacred Months, for sin in them is worse than sin in other months. Likewise, sins in the Sacred City are written multiplied,
"…and whoever inclines to evil actions therein (in Makkah) or to do wrong, him We shall cause to taste from a painful torment"
( 22:25.)
Similarly, sin in general is worse during the Sacred Months
▪️Ali bin Abi Talhah narrated that Ibn Abbas said, Allah’s statement,
(Verily, the number of months with Allah) …, is connected to
(so wrong not yourselves therein), “..in all(twelve) months. Allah then chose four out of these months and made them sacred, emphasizing their sanctity, making sinning in them greater, in addition to, multiplying rewards of righteous deeds during them.”
▪️Qatadah said about Allah’s statement,
(so wrong not yourselves therein),
“Injustice during the Sacred Months is worse and graver than injustice in other months. Verily, injustice is always wrong, but Allah makes things graver than others as He will.”

🔹The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab Mudar which comes between Jumaada and Sha’baan."

▪️The Prophet said “Rajab of Mudar” to attest to the custom of Mudar, in saying that Rajab is the month that is between Jumada and Shaban, not as the tribe of Rabiah thought, that it is between Shaban and Shawwal, which is Ramadan in the present calendar.
The four Sacred Months were made four, three in succession and one alone, so that the Hajj and Umrah are performed with ease.
▪️Dhul-Qadah, the month before the Hajj month, was made sacred because they refrained from fighting during that month.
▪️ Dhul-Hijjah, the next month, was made sacred because it is the month of Hajj, during which they performed Hajj rituals.
▪️Muharram, which comes next, was made sacred so that they are able to go back to their areas in safety after performing Hajj.
▪️Rajab, in the middle of the lunar year, was made sacred so that those coming from the farthest areas of Arabia are able to perform Umrah and visit the House and then go back to their areas safely.
🔹Qatadah said,
“Allah has chosen some of His creation above others. He chose Messengers from angels and from men. He also chose His Speech above all speech, the Masajid above other areas of the earth, Ramadan and the Sacred Months above all months, Friday above the other days and Laylatul-Qadr above all nights.
Therefore, sanctify what Allah has sanctified, for doing so is the practice of people of understanding and comprehension.”

Between You and the One in the Grave...
It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrī – Allāh have mercy on him – once said during the funeral of a man:
"May Allāh have mercy on the man who works for the likes of this day; for today you are able to do what these brothers of yours, the residents of these graves, cannot do.
So make full use of your health and free time before the day of distress and accounts comes upon you."

What To Say To Avoid Giving Evil Eye
Now days we find many Muslims that have been effected by evil eye, especially when people are sharing their lives on social media which allows everyone to see what is happening and not every person who sees people’s lives pray for blessings for them. Following are some supplications to say.
Many people now days say - ما شاء الله - Mā shā’ Allāh – Whatever Allāh Wills, this is not what is meant to be said when a blessing is seen on another believer. Rather a supplication of blessing for that person is what is prescribed.
Some supplications to say when you see a blessing on someone else:
تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ
Tabārak Allāh - May Allāh bless you.
اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ فِيه
Allāhumma bārik fihī - O Allāh bless him.
اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ فِيهَا
Allāhumma bārik fihā - O Allāh bless her.
اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ عَلَيْه
Allāhumma bārik
تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ اَلْخالِقينَ اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ فِيه
Tabaarak Allāhu ahsan al-Khāliqīn, Allāhumma bārik fīh - Blessed is Allāh the best of Creators, O Allāh bless him.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “If one of you sees something from his brother, or in himself, or in his wealth which impresses him, then supplicate for him to be blessed in it. Verily, the evil eye of envy is real.” Musnad Aḥmad (no. 15700). Authenticated by Shaykh Al-Albānī in Silsilah As-Sahīhah (no. 2572).

From Ibn Mas’ud رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ who said:
I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Which deed is the most virtuous?"
He ﷺ said, "Praying on time."
I said, "Then what O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"
He ﷺ said, "Birr al-Wālidayn (Being kind/respectful/obedient/dutiful to parents."
I said, "Then what O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"
He ﷺ said, "Struggling in the path of Allah."
Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent and if I were to ask him for more, he would have responded." [Tirmidhī, 1898]
One of the lessons we can derive from this ḥadīth is that after fulfilling our responsibility towards Allah ﷻ through prayer, the most important responsibility we have is towards our parents. After establishing prayer, being kind and respectful to our parents is one of the most virtuous and rewarding things that we can do.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“Sinning corrupts the brain for the brain has its radiance and surely disobedience extinguishes the radiance. And when its radiance is extinguished, it (brain) becomes weak and defective.”

Shaykh Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) vehemently rebukes those who call the first Adhaan on Friday an innovation.
He (may Allah have mercy on him) Said,
'Some disrespectful individuals who identify as Sunnis and Salafis claimed, "We will not accept the first Adhan of the Friday Prayer since it is an innovation." It wasn't done during the Prophet's lifetime. Their claim discredits the Prophet, the rightly guided caliphs, and the companions.
Without realizing it, these miserable humans have fallen to this terrible level. It is a defamation of the Prophet since he commanded people to follow both his Sunnah and the Sunnah of the righteous caliphs who came after him.
Defaming one of the rightly guided caliphs is defamation of all of them just as one who rejects or disbelieves in a Messenger disbelieves in all of the Messengers.
Furthermore, it is defamation of the companions because they did not criticize Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) for it. If he had been wrong, they would have criticized him as they disproved him for completing (the prayer) in Mina during the pilgrimage.
The first Adhan of the Friday Prayer is legislated based on the indication of the Prophet, the Sunnah of the leader of the believers, Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and the consensus of the companions - silence consensus.
The response is that the reason is that the population increased and Madinah expanded during the reign of Uthman and they needed a call to prayer to notify them before that which would announce the arrival of the Imam. So it was part of wisdom to pronounce the Adhan. And Uthman (may Allaah be pleased with him) built on the foundation, which was the instruction of the Prophet to Bilal to pronounce the Adhan in the later part of the night. This was not to announce the arrival of the (Fajr) prayer, but to wake the sleeping person and for the praying person to return. This is the legislative intent. There is no problem with the legislation of the first call for the Friday Prayer. It is legislated based on the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs, the signal from the leader of the Messengers, Muhammad, and the consensus of the companions that witnessed this.
As for the Adhan in the later part of the night, it is legislated based on the Sunnah of the Prophet H in Ramadan to wake the sleeping person and return the praying person. However, is it legislated at other times other than Ramadan? We say, there is no harm in it, perhaps based on Qiyas (analogy) from the action of Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him.

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection.
Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.
Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and in the Hereafter.
Allah helps the servant as long as he helps his brother.

Refrain people from your sharr if you don't have anything to give for sadaqa.
Prophet peace be upon him was asked, if I am unable to give anything for sadaqa then ?
He replied:
تَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ، فَإِنَّهَا صَدَقَةٌ تَصَدَّقُ بِهَا عَلَى نَفْسِكَ "
"Refrain from harming others for this will be regarded as a (sadaqa) charitable deed for your own good."

Taqwa of the Shepherd
I went out once with Ibn ‘Umar to Makkah, and we reached there in the last part of the night. A shepherd descended upon us from a mountain. Ibn ‘Umar asked him, “Are you a shepherd?”
The man said, “Yes.”
Ibn ‘Umar said, “Sell me a sheep from the flock.”
The shepherd said, “I am a slave.” Ibn ‘Umar said, “Tell your master that it was eaten by a wolf.”
The man replied, “Then where is Allah, the Mighty and Majestic?”
Then Ibn ‘Umar wept and said, “Then where is Allah!” He later bought the slave and freed him.

HOW TO INCREASE ONE'S LOVE OF ALLAH:
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) says:
“The reasons which cause mahabbah of Allâh to develop, are ten:
《♡》 Firstly : Reciting the Qur‘ân, reflecting and understanding its meaning and its intent.
《♡》 Secondly : Drawing closer to Allâh – the Most High – through optional deeds, after fulfilling the obligatory duties.
《♡》 Thirdly : Being continuous in the dhikr (remembrance) of Allâh, with the tongue, the heart and the limbs – under all circumstances. The more constant the dhikr, the more mahabbah develops and intensifies.
《♡》 Fourthly : Giving precedence to what Allâh loves over personal loves, when being overcome by desires.
《♡》 Fifthly : Contemplating and deliberating over the Names and Attributes of Allâh.
《♡》 Sixthly : Recognising and remembering the favours and bounties of Allâh – both manifest and hidden.
《♡》 Seventhly : To be humble and submissive before Allâh – and this is the greatest matter.
《♡》 Eightly : To be in seclusion reciting the Qur‘ân, during that time in which Allâh descends to the lowest heaven (which is the last third of every night), finishing this recitation with seeking Allâh’s forgiveness and repenting to Him.
《♡》 Ninthly: To sit in the gatherings of true and sincere lovers of Allâh, reaping the fruits of their speech, and not to speak except if there is benefit in it and that you know that such talk will increase you in goodness and that it will benefits others as well.
《♡》 Tenthly: To stay clear of all those causes which distances the heart from Allâh – the Mighty and Majestic.
So these are the ten reasons which cause the person to develop true love for Allâh and to reach the rank of al-muhabbah, by which he reaches his Beloved.”
[Madârijus-Sâlikîn, 3/17-18]
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) says:
“The reasons which cause mahabbah of Allâh to develop, are ten:
《♡》 Firstly : Reciting the Qur‘ân, reflecting and understanding its meaning and its intent.
《♡》 Secondly : Drawing closer to Allâh – the Most High – through optional deeds, after fulfilling the obligatory duties.
《♡》 Thirdly : Being continuous in the dhikr (remembrance) of Allâh, with the tongue, the heart and the limbs – under all circumstances. The more constant the dhikr, the more mahabbah develops and intensifies.
《♡》 Fourthly : Giving precedence to what Allâh loves over personal loves, when being overcome by desires.
《♡》 Fifthly : Contemplating and deliberating over the Names and Attributes of Allâh.
《♡》 Sixthly : Recognising and remembering the favours and bounties of Allâh – both manifest and hidden.
《♡》 Seventhly : To be humble and submissive before Allâh – and this is the greatest matter.
《♡》 Eightly : To be in seclusion reciting the Qur‘ân, during that time in which Allâh descends to the lowest heaven (which is the last third of every night), finishing this recitation with seeking Allâh’s forgiveness and repenting to Him.

MORAL: Don't promise anything if you can't keep your promise. It might not mean anything to you, But it could mean everything to someone else.

CHOOSING COMPANIONS WISELY!!
Aboo Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet (saw) said:
“A person follows (imitates) the religion of his friends, therefore let each one of you look at the one he befriends.” [Aboo Daawood, Tirmidhee, Ahmad, amongst others. See As-Saheehah #927]
Also, Aboo Moosaa Al-Ash’aree narrated that the Prophet (saw) said:
“The example of an evil companion is like an ironsmith. Either he burns your clothes or you smell a foul odor from him.” [Bukhaaree & Muslim]
Ibn ‘Uthaymeen comments:
“… The youth has to to choose a good, righteous and intelligent person for his companion. He should evaluate the condition of the people before he befriends them by researching their condition and reputation. If they have good manners, sound religion, and a good reputation, then they are an object of a long-cherishing wish and profitable gain.
Therefore cling to them, otherwise beware! And stay away from people with evil and wicked character. This should be done so that one isn’t deceived by sweet speech and a beautiful outward appearance.
These attributes are a deception and a misguidance that the people of wickedness use in order to attract simple minded people and to increase their members. Also, they hide within these attributes the things that corrupt one’s behavior and manners.
The poet said it best:
Test the men you intend to brethren,�Look at their affairs closely.�If you gain one with piety and intellect,�Then cling to him happily.”
[Mushkilaat Ash-Shabaab, Pp. 31-32]

Affliction
Abu Huraira (RA) reported God’s Messenger (SAW) as saying, “Anyone for whom God intends good is made to suffer some affliction from Him.” Bukhari transmitted it.
(Mishkat al-Masabih 1536, Book 5, Hadith 14)
Life is not meant to be easy. When you are going through a tough time and feel really low, call on God and know that He hears you. Everyone who suffers will receive the reward of their affliction. If something inconveniences you, there is a reward, if a calamity befalls you, there is a reward. Have faith in God, He loves you and you will never, ever forsake you. Tragedy and hardship is a part of life, but don't feel sad. Have faith and trust in God.
Whatever your going through, wherever in the world you are, I genuinely pray that God makes things easy for you. Remember, the tougher you are, the stronger your battles xxx

It is better for whoever passes by a graveyard wall to greet the deceased
Q: If a Muslim passes by the fence of a graveyard or sees graves, should he greet the deceased?
