A little more detail about the case and the children. The children are currently in Toronto.

Parental rights have been terminated and we are seeking a permanent placement for the children in a Muslim home. The agency is willing to move the children out of the province and prefers a single home placement, but is willing to place them in 2 homes close together to maintain the sibling bond.

All children are enrolled in school and have no behavioral problems.
Age and gender of the children:
9 year old twins
boy 9 years old
girl, 6 years old
girl of 5 years old
3 year old boy.
Below is the departmental contact for anyone interested:

If you're in doubt about the character of a person, look at his friends.

❝Every man is attached to the one who resembles him. Every bird follows his own kind. Those of the same nature are inclined to each other. The good follow the good. The evil follow the evil.❞

— Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (RA)

❝Companionship with good people leads to beneficial knowledge, virtuous manners and righteous deeds, whilst companionship with bad people prevents one from all of this.❞

— Imaam as-Sa’dee (raḥimahullāh)
“Bahjatul-Abraar” p. 226.

❝There is nothing more beneficial to a Muslim’s heart than to mix with the righteous and to watch their actions, while nothing is more harmful to the heart than mixing with the sinners and watching their actions.❞

— Ahmad Ibn Harb رحمه الله

When we are young, we dream of a perfect life, and are very much unprepared for the hardships of this dunya. But if we lived a perfect life we would not grow or gain wisdom. It is only with these hardships that we face, that we are able to grow closer to Allahﷻ and gain the wisdom to navigate this dunya.
A perfect life will come one day insha'Allah, but only in Jannah 💕

WHO IS MORE BELOVED TO YOU OF THE TWO

It was said to lmaam Ahmad رحمه الله :"If a man fasts, prays, and performs Itikaaf, is that more beloved to you, or that he speaks against Ahlul bid'ah (the people of innovation)?"

Imaam Ahmad رحمه الله replied: ❝If he fasts, prays, and performs Itikaaf, that is for himself. But if he speaks against Ahlul bid'ah, then it's for the Muslims. This is better!❞

Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyah (rahimahullaah) said in Madarij Al-Salikin, Vol.1 p487:

These are the words of someone who fully understood singing and its effects, for no one regularly sings or listens to song except that his heart falls into nifaq without him realizing. If such a person understood the reality of nifaq and its end he would see it in his own heart. Never do the love of song and the love of Quran come together in a person's heart except that one expels the other. I and others have witnessed how heavy the Quran feels to singers and song-listeners; how they coil when it is recited and how they get angry with a reciter when he recites too long for them (in prayer etc); and how their hearts do not benefit from what he recites: they are not moved to do anything by it. But when the Qur`an of Shaytan comes, la ilaaha illallaah! How they lower their voices and settle down! How their hearts feel at peace and how the crying and emotions start, how moved they are inwardly and outwardly and spend on clothing and perfume and staying up hoping for a long night ahead. If this is not nifaq then it is certainly the way to it and its foundation.

HOW TO GET A HEALTHY HEART? [5] There are five things that deliberately destroy the heart of a believer, and there are also five remedies that will give it health.

💖What I mean by a healthy heart is one that is simple and clean, and full of faith, not one that is free from various ailments.

✍️Ibn Al Qayyim said: "Five destroy the human heart: -

[1] First: Associating with sinful people.

2. Second: The eternal desire and dreaming of worldly things.

3. Third: Belief in anyone besides Allah.

4. Fourth: Always eating a lot and being gluttonous.

5. Fifth: Too much sleep."

✍️And Ibrahim Al Khawwas said: "The cure for a broken heart is five: -

1. First: The constant reading of the Qur'an, especially if it is to be understood.

2. Second: Reducing food, or not being full.

3. Third: The constant prayer in the middle of the night (Tahajjud).

4. Fourth: The constant supplication to Allah every dawn.

5. Fifth: Making friends with good people, people with strong faith."

✍️Ibn Al Qayyim also said: "The heart gets sick like the body and its cure is repentance, and it rusts like iron and what can remove its rust is remembrance (Dhikr), and it also suffers like other creatures and its adornment is the fear of Allah, and it is also hungry like the intestine and its food is trust and faith."

*Dealing with Your Brothers’ Shortcomings*

When your companion becomes angry and says something that is unwarranted, you should not take it too hard.

His situation is that of a drunken person who is not aware of what is taking place.

Instead, be patient, even if it means only for a little while. If you reciprocate his words with harsh words of your own, you become like the sane person who seeks revenge on a madman, or the conscious person who seeks retribution from an unconscious one.

(Instead) look at him with a merciful eye and pity him for his actions.

[Ibn al-Jawzi (Rahimahullah), Sayd al-Khaatir, Page 406]

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Teach, and make things easy, and don’t make things difficult, and remain silent when angry, and remain silent when angry, and remain silent when angry”
Musnad Ahmad: 2556 (Authentic Hadith).

Explanation of the Hadith:

“Teach” - teach people from the good and beneficial knowledge you have.

“Make things easy and don’t make things difficult” - make things easy upon yourself, by doing that which you’re capable of, concerning matters of worship and matters of life, while making sure you give each family member their right.

“And remain silent when angry” - He ﷺ repeated it 3 times, emphasising how dangerous speech during anger could be, since it’s most likely that people will say something regrettable, such as swearing and curse, and all this displeases Allah ﷻ.

Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Hunger
'A'isha (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: 'A'isha (RA) a family which has no dates (in their house) its members will be hungry; (or) 'A'isha (RA) the family which has no dates its members may be hungry. He said this twice or thrice.

(Sahih Muslim 2046b, Book 36, Hadith 211)

Dates are nutritiously dense and provide so much energy. When fasting, the satisfaction of biting into a sweet date is rewarding and refreshing.

ibn ‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said:

"There are three types of young people. The upright, the corrupt, and the confused.

The Upright young people are believers in every sense of the word. They believe in their religion in such a way that they love it and are convinced by and content with it. They regard embracing it as profit and denial of it as clear loss.

The Corrupt young people are religiously deviating, behaviorally reckless, self-deluded, and engulfed by their own vices. They do not accept truth from others, do not refrain from falsehood that is inherent in their minds, and are selfish in their conduct.

The Confused young people are the ones who are uncertain, irresolute, and at a crossroad. They know the truth and are sure of it. They live in a religiously conservative society but have the misfortune of being exposed to evil channels from every direction. They are exposed to evils like skepticism about the truthfulness of the Muslim creed, corruption in conduct and behavior decadence in actions, attack on the established-customs and traditions."

When going through hardships and a tough time remember the story of Hajar عليه السلام, wife of prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام abul ambiya "The Father of Prophets". Her husband was a prophet and she gave birth to a prophet Ismael عليه السلام.

Her struggle, her taqwa requires constant and sincere reflection.

Lesson one from the story of Hajar عليه السلام is Taqwa.

Imagine standing all alone in a desert with a new born baby in your arms and you have ran out of food and water, all you see is sand as far as your eyes can see.

Visualize that and imagine how scared would you be.
YOU WILL FEEL HOPELESS, WORRIED AND ANXIOUS.
That is how our mother Hajar felt.

Although, regardless of who left her there and why, Hajar knew that Rizq is from Allah, and that Allah would never forsake or abandon her.

That's the message I take from it. That as an amatullah I know for a fact that Allah will never forsake or abandon me as long as I take action and put my trust in Him.

The character of Hajar is what we should aspire to. Her sense of faith and reliance on Allah and her perseverance in what seemed an utterly hopeless situation is the lesson.

She raised her son Ismael عليه السلام, alone in the desert, without any family around and in such a way that Ismael was still obedient to the very father who left him in the desert.

Did she or Ismael throw a fit when Ibrahim عليه السلام showed up years later and said Allah wants me to slaughter you son?
No.

Hajar عليه السلام trusted that Allah would provide, and she sought out that provision.

Today as a result of that call to Allah, billions of Muslims from around the world and across generations commemorate her sunnah of running from safa to marwah while performing Umrah and Allah gave this Ummah the well of zam-zam because of her tawakkul and taqwa in Allah.

These two blessings showcase how immense her tawakkul and yaqeen in her rabb was. Her tawakkul in Allah was so strong that Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه comments on the blessing of zamzam and says "𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐰 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐚’𝐞𝐞𝐥'𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫! 𝐇𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡."

✦ 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐤𝐮𝐥 is the reason we have Zamzam.
✦ 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐤𝐮𝐥 is the reason the dates fell from the tree to feed Maryam عليه السلام during her labour pains, because a pregnant woman in pain cannot shake a tree.
✦ 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐤𝐮𝐥 is the reason striking the staff split the sea for Musa عليه السلام.

Let's remember she is our mother. Her example is the best example to emulate. Her trials elevated her. During her lowest points she had the highest level of eeman and faith.

When things get tough, we need to stop whining. Instead focus on duas, ask Allah that he gives you tawfeeq, sabr and tawakkul that is unmatched and doesn't waver.

The second lesson is about being okay with not witnessing your true legacy in this temporary lifetime. So, what do I mean by that? When we talk about legacy, did Hajar عليه السلام witness her entire legacy in her lifetime?
𝐍𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐓.

Hajar عليه السلام had zero idea that billions of Muslims across generations would commemorate her sunnah while performing umrah.

Similarly, don’t worry if your legacy is not visible in a few years or even in your lifetime. If you are sincere and you do good deeds for the sake of Allah alone, Allah will bless you with a good legacy and inshaAllah the fruition, result and reward will be visible be on the day of judgement.

Some legacies are visible in our lifetime and some will inshaAllah be visible on the day of judgment.

𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲.
Just focus on the sincerity of your intentions and perform many good deeds.

🤲 May Allah bless us with tawakkul, ikhlaas, ihsan and unending sadaqaye jariya, may Allah keep us all sincere and steadfast in our affairs – Allahumma ameen.
