I am looking for an interested and motivated PhD candidate to collaborate on writing a proposal for the Research Ireland Enterprise Partnership Scheme. This research will focus on Digital Twin technology for smart buildings, aiming to enhance energy efficiency, predictive maintenance, and real-time system optimization.
At this stage, we are selecting one candidate to actively contribute to the proposal development. If the proposal is successful, the fully funded PhD will commence in September 2025 or March 2026, with the funding decision expected in June 2025.
🔍 Candidate Requirements
✅ BEng / BSc and MEng (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
✅ Strong analytical and Python programming skills.
✅ Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), IoT sensors, or energy modeling tools (EnergyPlus, IES VE).
✅ Strong academic writing and communication skills.
✅ Interest in Digital Twin technology, AI-driven optimization, and energy efficiency.
✅ Ability to collaborate on proposal writing and research development.
🎓 Funding Details (If Approved)
If the proposal is successful, the PhD will be funded for four years, covering:
💰 €25,000 annual stipend
📚 Tuition fees
