A fully funded Auburn University Presidential Fellowship is available for PhD in Building Construction at the McWhorter School of Building Science, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama, USA. The duration of the fellowship is 3 years. The fellowship recipient will receive a full tuition waiver (except the student services fee) and an annual stipend close to US$35,000. The recipients will also be eligible to apply for travel funds to present research at national and/or international conferences.

The successful candidate will conduct research in the general field of tectonic geodesy. options include natural and induced earthquake deformation, subduction zone geodynamics, and sea level change. depending on the research topic and individual interest, the graduate research may involve field investigations, terrestrial and subsea geodetic monitoring, analysis of geodetic data, and/or numerical modelling. the students will have opportunities to interact with the team of scientists in the nearby pacific geoscience centre, geological survey of canada, and contribute to canadian national programs regarding natural hazards and climate change.
