This project is part of an ongoing collaborative effort between our research group at Polytechnique Montreal, and our industry partner, Solutions Serafin.
As part of this research program, you will have the opportunity to work on the development of model-based and data-driven methods for estimating the state of charge, health, and power (SOC, SOH, and SOP) of LIBs. Applicants should have a strong background in electrical engineering, data science, or related fields. Experience in modeling and simulation of battery systems, power electronics, machine learning, data analytics, and related programming skills, would be highly beneficial.

Self-supervised multimodal representation learning
Speech enhancement and separation under real-life conditions
Life-long/continual learning for personal assistants
Deep generative models for speech/audio synthesis
The student will be co-supervised by Prof. Cem Subakan, Prof. Pascal Germain at Université Laval, and will also be advised by Prof. Mirco Ravanelli at Concordia University. The candidates will work towards earning a doctorate degree in Computer Science from Université Laval (Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering).
The students will also contribute to the popular SpeechBrain project. The students will be encouraged to take part in the Quebec city / Quebec / Montreal AI ecosystem, and will be offered the possibility to spend time in Mila-Quebec AI Institute for research collaborations.
