☑️ Deep Learning for Speech/Audio, and Explainable Machine Learning
We have open PhD positions on explainable AI, deep learning for speech technologies, conversational AI, and more generally machine learning for sequence processing. Potential research projects include, but are not limited to:
Interpretation/Explanation Methods for Deep Neural Networks
Self-supervised multimodal representation learning
Speech enhancement and separation under real-life conditions
Life-long/continual learning for personal assistants
Deep generative models for speech/audio synthesis
The student will be co-supervised by Prof. Cem Subakan, Prof. Pascal Germain at Université Laval, and will also be advised by Prof. Mirco Ravanelli at Concordia University. The candidates will work towards earning a doctorate degree in Computer Science from Université Laval (Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering).
The students will also contribute to the popular SpeechBrain project. The students will be encouraged to take part in the Quebec city / Quebec / Montreal AI ecosystem, and will be offered the possibility to spend time in Mila-Quebec AI Institute for research collaborations.
