✨The week of the 4th halving event in BTC history was dominated by macro news, sending BTC down to $59.6K - the lowest level since early March.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$20B (from ~$2,368B to ~$2,388B).

✨Bitcoin Aims at $65K
✅The week leading to the fourth BTC halving was quite painful. BTC fell from over $70K to $65K last Friday before it dumped to $61K a day later.

✅After regaining some traction by Monday, BTC experienced another freefall in the middle of the week and one more on Friday amid the escalating tension between Iran and Israel. The last massive drop took BTC to below $60K just hours before the highly anticipated halving was supposed to take place.

✅However, the cryptocurrency soared by over five grand in the next half a day and stood at around $65K when the halving was completed.

✅Since then, there has been little volatility, and BiTC currently sits around $65K again after failing at $66K.

✨SHIB Takes the Main Stage
✅The altcoins have performed much better than BTC in the past week, led by the second-largest meme coin, Shiba Inu. SHIB has skyrocketed by 20% and now trades above $0.000026.

✅Other lower-cap meme coins have also presented double-digit gains, such as BONK, FLOKI, and PEPE.

✅LINK, ICP, NEAR, and INJ also increased well this week, from ~13% to 18%.

✅BNB, XRP, ADA, DOT, LTC, and UNI are also green, with around 6-8% gains.

✨Concerns about the market situation in May arose as the final days of April saw an outflow of BTC ETF funds.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization decreased by ~$72B (from ~$2,388B to ~$2,316B).

✨BTC Failed to Challenge $64K
✅A week ago, BTC experienced its fourth halving, cutting block rewards for miners in half. During this time, BTC's price saw significant volatility amidst escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

✅Following a sharp decline to under $59.5K, BTC surged by over five thousand dollars and surpassed $65K last weekend. It continued to climb in the early days of the business week, spiking above $67K multiple times.

✅However, this upward trend was short-lived, with bears quickly reversing its trajectory. Wednesday saw a particularly painful drop as BTC fell to $62.8K. Although it bounced back to $65K on Thursday, it soon headed south again, dropping to $62.4K by Saturday.

✅Despite these fluctuations, the bulls have managed to step in, and BTC is now trading close to $63K.

✨Altcoins Recover Green
✅At the time of writing, the BTC.D index has been down for two consecutive weeks, showing that altcoins are experiencing growth surpassing BTC. ETH is a prime example, the largest Altcoin is up over 6% in the last 24 hours and trading above $3300. SOL and TON have charted similar gains, pushing them to $143 and $5.5, respectively.
