I'd have to say that this is an accurate harbinger; it's crystal-clear that the GOP has failed it's constituents, and as a result, they're hemorrhaging support. This is a death knell for the Republic. Those constituents have no place to go and no one to turn to.

“That’s not conservative” reminds me of when leftists say “no one has ever seen true communism.”
I swore an oath to the Constitution once upon a time. The Constitution is not “conservative,” nor “liberal,” nor is it constrained by or loyal to any ideology.
I expect the federal government to defend the borders of the nation and protect its people, uphold our laws and God-given rights, and defer all else to the states.
I am still anxious to figure out what conservatism has actually conserved, and I say that as a right winger.
