In the early 20th century, tomb raiders stumbled upon a burial site some 1,500 years old, at the mouth of the Magdolena River. It belonged to the pre-Columbian civilization of Talimo.
Among the funerary accessories, about a thousand gold figurines ranging from 3 to 5 centimeters were found. Most looked like animals or fish, but 12 looked like modern fighter planes. They had keels, stabilizers, wings and fuselage. It didn't look much like a bird.
