Stupid workers at the quarry, they can't lift the megalith. They should have put round logs under the block like the ancient Egyptians and pulled it with ropes. Why do we need such huge tractors?

Actually ancient Egyptians could not build pyramids with the help of logs. According to the official version for construction of the second and the following levels blocks were lifted on an inclined plane. All this was composed by historians, but not physicists, therefore they have not considered that force of gravity in such case would not allow to lift a block. Due to its huge mass it would have rolled down the slope, dragging the workers who dragged it.

The composition of Roman concrete (pozzolana) is well known - volcanic ash and lime. But it could not be reproduced.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology studied samples of Roman concrete under an electron microscope, with the help of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and confocal Raman imaging and realized that the composition was added quicklime at high temperatures.

When cracks appeared in the concrete, sooner or later water got into it, reacted with the lime, forming a calcium-rich solution that hardened and completely glued the crack in just 2 weeks.

That is, the ancient Romans created a self-healing material for construction 2,000 years ago. Now remember that modern concrete only lasts 50-100 years

Padmanabhaswamy Hindu Temple

This temple is located in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, and has attracted attention for its skillful murals and carvings, as well as the discovery of a treasure worth $22 million dollars in one of the underground vaults.

Baalbek, Lebanon

Near Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, is the ancient city of Baalbek, once the largest religious center of several nations. The Syrians worshipped Baal, the god of fire, the Romans Jupiter and the Greeks Dionysus.
And now even the ruins of Baalbek impress with their size.

According to scientists, the city, located at an altitude of 1130 m above sea level, was destroyed by a powerful earthquake. The temple of Bacchus is best preserved.

But the greatest mystery for historians are the details of the grandiose ancient temple of Jupiter, which in some technical characteristics even surpasses the famous Cheops pyramid in Egypt. Granite blocks of the temple's foundation weigh, for a second, up to a thousand tons!

Today, there are few mechanisms in the world capable of lifting structures of such weight, so scientists still wonder who built the giant platforms-foundations for the temples of Baalbek.
