The Great Fruits Of Belief In al-Qadar (The Pre-Decree) Of Allaah
By Shaykh Muhammad b. Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen rahimahullaah
Belief in al-Qadar (the Pre-Decree) has many great fruits, from them:
The First: Having I'timaad (reliance and dependence) upon Allaah, the Most High, after taking the necessary means, whereby, a person does not depend upon the means itself; since everything happens by the Qadar (Pre-Decree) of Allaah.
The Second: A person does not become amazed with himself when he succeeds in attaining his goals/objectives. Since attaining that is a blessing from Allaah, the Most High, which is brought about by what He has Pre-Decreed from the means to all good and success. Thus, being amazed with himself will make a person forget to be thankful (to Allaah) for this blessing.
The Third: Tranquillity and peace of mind with whatever happens to him from the Pre-Decree of Allaah, the Most High. So one should not feel miserable for losing something beloved nor for attaining something one dislikes. Since all of that only occurs by the Qadar of Allaah, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and earth. And it is something that will occur (i.e. take place as He Decrees it) there is no escaping it. And regarding that Allaah, the Most High, mentions:
“No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lawh’ Al-Mah’footh), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allaah. In order that you may not be sad over matters that you fail to get, nor rejoice because of that which has been given to you. And Allaah likes not prideful boasters.” [Surah al-Hadeed: 22-23].
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"Amazing is the affair of the believer, for indeed all of his affair is Khayr (good). And that is not for anyone except for the believer. If any Sarraa (happiness and joy) reaches him, he gives thanks (to Allaah) and that is good for him. If any Darraa (harm and affliction) befalls him, he remains patient then that is good for him." [Saheeh Muslim, (no.2999)].

The Greatest Threats & Dangers To The Ummah
By Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafidhahullaah
Question:
There are imminent threats and dangers that surround the Islaamic Ummah from all different sides; what is the most dangerous threat to the Ummah, and what path should be taken to prevent and counter this danger?
Answer:
The greatest threat that the Islaamic Nation faces is them being distant and far away from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (ﷺ), and replacing them both with man-made laws and deviated ideologies.
And likewise, from the greatest dangers and threats that the Muslim Ummah faces is misguidance and straying from the correct 'Aqeedah (creed), and the infiltration and implantation of al-Afkaar (ideas/concepts) that are from unbelief (al-Kufriyyah), polytheism (ash-Shirkiyyah) and innovations from the grave-worshippers and the Soofees. And innovations and superstitions (from the grave-worshippers and Soofees).
Also, one of the greatest dangers to the Islaamic Ummah is the splitting up and disunity of the Ummah among themselves and having enmity for each other.
The i'laaj (treatment and cure) for all that is by returning back to the Book and the Sunnah; (which is) through learning, teaching, judging (by them both) between the people and adorning oneself with good manners and fine character in accordance to them both (i.e. the Qur'an and the Sunnah).

The Correct Stance Against Ignorance Of Tawheed, Affiliatiion To Foreign Ideologies & The Ideological Attack
By Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafidhahullaah
Question:
What are the most prominent issues which need a firm stance (to be taken) from the Muslims in this era?
Answer:
The most prominent issues which are in need of firm stances (to be taken) from the Muslims in this era are:
The problem of ignorance in the 'Aqeedah of at-Tawheed among many of those who ascribe to al-Islaam, the affiliation to ideologies that are in opposition to Islaam, and the ideological attacks (upon true Islaam) that have come from the lands of unbelief to the lands of Islaam.
All of these affairs require a correct stance and a strong rebuttal. And that is through clarification of the correct Islaam - (which is) by way of its 'Aqeedah (creed), its wise legislation and by warning against everything that opposes it - through academic curriculums, the many means of the media and distribution of beneficial books.

Differing (Al-Ikhtilaaf) In 'Aqeedah Is Not Permissible
By Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafidhahullaah
There are two types of al-Ikhtilaaf (differing in the religion):
The First Type: Differing in the affairs of al-'Aqeedah, this is not permissible; since it is obligatory upon the Muslims to believe in whatever is (textually) proved by the Book and the Sunnah. Moreover, they should not enter into that with their intellects and their Ijtihaadaat (expending efforts to arrive at a Sharee’ah ruling); since 'Aqeedah (creed) is Tawqifiyyah (based upon textual proofs) and there is no scope and room for al-Ijtihaad and differing in it.
The Second Type: Differing in issues of Fiqh that are derived from the texts; and this is inevitable since people's perceptions and understandings are diverse. However, it is obligatory to take what is the strongest in evidences from their views; and this is a way out from this type of differing.
It is obligatory upon the Muslim to give importance to the affairs of his religion, he perseveres in performing that which Allaah has obligated upon him and he leaves off that which Allaah has prohibited upon him. Also, that he adorns himself with noble manners with his brothers, he is truthful in his dealings and interactions (with people), he is trustworthy and faithful with his Amaanah (trusts) and he is a good example for others to follow.
It is obligatory upon the Muslims to be nurtured upon adhering to the religion and good noble manners. Furthermore, they should distance themselves from vile and despicable manners and bad companions. They should concern themselves with what benefits them in their religion and their Dunya (worldly life), and they should be a source of strength for Islaam and the Muslims.

The Means To Connecting The Heart To Allaah
By Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafidhahullaah
Question:
What are the means that aid in connecting and attaching the heart to Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic?
Answer:
The means that aid in connecting and attaching the heart to Allaah are: being plentiful in recitation of the Qur'aan, remembering the blessings and favours of Allaah, the One free from all imperfections, fearing the punishment of Allaah, hoping and desiring for His rewards and abundantly making remembrance of Allaah. Allaah, the Most High, mentions: "Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allaah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find rest." [Surah ar-Ra'd: 28].
Likewise, from among the means that help in the heart becoming attached and connected to Allaah is to look at His Aayaat that are al-Kawniyyah (the creational - present in the creation), and to ponder and reflect over them. Allaah, the Most High, mentions: "Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding. Those who remember Allaah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire." [Surah Aal-imraan: 190 - 191].

The Seeker Of Leadership
By Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728h) rahimahullaah
The seeker of leadership - by corrupt means - is pleased with a statement which has exaltation and praise of him; even though it is false and futile. And he is displeased and angered by a statement that has censure and dispraise of him; even though it is truthful.
As for the believer, then he is pleased with truthful speech, whether that is for him or against him. And he is displeased and angered by a statement which is false and futile, whether that is for him or against him. Since Allaah loves the truth, as-Sidq (truthfulness) and al-'Adl (justice), whereas He hates lying and oppression.
So if what is stated is al-Haqq (the truth), as-Sidq (truthfulness and honesty) and justice then it is that which Allaah loves; and therefore, he (the believer) loves it, even though it may entail that which opposes his desires. That is because his Hawaa (desire) has turned to following what the Messenger (ﷺ) came with.
And if what is stated is lying and oppression, then Allaah hates that and (therefore) the believer also hates it, even if it is in accordance to his desires.

Speaking About Allaah Without Knowledge Is Equivalent To Shirk

Speaking About Allaah Without Knowledge Is Equivalent To Shirk
By Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafidhahullaah
Allaah, the Most High, mentions:
Say: "(But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawahish (great evil sins, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allaah for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allaah of which you have no knowledge." [Surah al-A'raaf: 33].
He, the One free from all imperfections, has made speaking about Him without any knowledge being above (i.e. worse than) Shirk. This is general with regards to speaking about Allaah without knowledge; meaning, that it is (speaking) without any evidence from the Book and the Sunnah in the foundations ('Usool) of the religion and its branches (Furoo'). And it is textually stipulated against speaking about Him without knowledge in making anything Halaal (lawful) and Haraam (forbidden); hence He, the Most High, mentions:
"And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so as to invent lies against Allaah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allaah will never prosper." [Surah an-Nahl: 116].
So if Allaah has threatened those who make things lawful and forbidden without any evidence with painful punishment and lack of prosperity and success, then how about those who speak about Him without any knowledge regarding the acts of worship, and the place and time of these acts of worship for which Allaah has determined/ specified the set limits?
Moreover, as is well known worship is Tawqeefee (based upon texts from the Qur'aan and the Sunnah) with regards to its manner (i.e. how it is performed), its time and its place. So whosoever Shara' (legislates and institutes) in worship anything which Allaah has not given permission for then he enters under the statement of the Most High:
"Or have they partners with Allaah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allaah has not allowed. And had it not been for a decisive Word (gone forth already), the matter would have been judged between them. And verily, for the Dhaalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers), there is a painful torment." [Surah ash-Shoorah: 21].
So He, the One free from all imperfections, has made whoever Shara' (legislated) for the people something in the religion that which Allaah did not legislate as a partner for Him in His Tashree' (legislation). And whoever obeys him in that then he is a Mushrik (Polytheist) with Allaah, the Most High, with Shirk of obedience. And the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"Whoever introduces a newly invented matter in this religion of ours that which was not from it, then it will be rejected." That is because he (ﷺ) has clarified to the people what Allaah has legislated and ordained from the limits; in compliance with the limits that which Allaah determined for him. And Allaah, the Most High, mentions:
"And those are the set limits of Allaah. And whosoever transgresses the set limits of Allaah, then indeed he has wronged himself." [Surah at-Talaaq: 1].
"These are the limits ordained by Allaah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits ordained by Allaah, then such are the Dhaalimun (wrong-doers, etc.)." [Surah al-Baqarah: 229].
"And whosoever disobeys Allaah and His Messenger, and transgresses His limits, He will cast him into the Fire, to abide therein; and he shall have a disgraceful torment." [Surah an-Nisaa: 14].

The Ruling Of Hanging Qur'anic Amulets
By Shaykh
Question: What is the ruling of hanging an amulet containig the Qur'aan upon the wall or in the car?
Answer: [This is] not allowed; since hanging the Aayatul-Kursee or other than it from the Qur'aan upon the wall or in the car is belittlement of it.

Abandoning The Commands Of Allaah Causes Hatred
Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullaah said:
"So whenever the people abandon some of that which Allaah has commanded them with, enmity and hatred will occur between them. And if the people Tafarraqa (split up and become disunited), they will be corrupted and destroyed. And if they are united, they will be upright and will dominate and conquer. For indeed the Jamaa'ah[1] is a mercy and al-Furqah (splitting and disunity) is punishment."

Abdullaah b. Masood (radiallaahu anhu) he said: “The Jamaaah (the united body of the Muslims) is whatever conforms to the truth even if you are alone.” [Reported in Taareekh Damishq]. Ishaaq b. Raahawaih - rahimahullaah - (d. 238H) said: “If you were to ask the ignorant people about the Jamaa’ah (the 'Main Body’) they would say: 'The majority of people.' They do not know that the Jamaa’ah is the scholar who clings to the narrations from the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and his way. So whoever is with him and follows him, then he is the Jamaa’ah.” [Aboo Nu’aym in Hilyatul-Awliyaa].
