Introducing the Quote Value Ratio (QVR) Trading Rule
We are committed to ensuring the BitMEX platform is fair and efficient for all our users, and this is why we are introducing a new Quote Value Ratio (QVR) Trading Rule with effect from 00:00:00 UTC on 15 September 2020.
The QVR rule will help to increase quoting efficiency on the platform, and is part of our continued efforts to enhance the trading experience for all our users. It will introduce limits on the number of quotes and amount of capacity a trader can utilise if providing little or no trading value for other BitMEX users.
The rule will initially apply to XBTUSD quotes. For more information please see our blog here: https://blog.bitmex.com/introducing-the-quote-value-ratio-trading-rule/

United States CFTC & DOJ filing
In response to reports of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Department of Justice's decision to file charges against HDR Global Trading Limited and related parties, we have the following statement:
“We strongly disagree with the U.S. government’s heavy-handed decision to bring these charges, and intend to defend the allegations vigorously. From our early days as a start-up, we have always sought to comply with applicable U.S. laws, as those laws were understood at the time and based on available guidance.”
In the meantime, the BitMEX platform is operating entirely as normal and all funds are safe. To allay any potential customer concerns, pending withdrawal requests were processed at 17:45 UTC, in line with our standard procedures. We will process another off-cycle withdrawal at 08:00 UTC, 02 Oct 2020, and then 13:00 UTC, as usual.
If you have any further enquiries, please contact Support: https://www.bitmex.com/app/support/contact

Introducing a new LINKUSDT Quanto Perpetual Contract and increasing leverage on our LINKUSDT Quanto Future Contract
In response to the popularity of the LINKUSDTZ20 since its launch on 11 September 2020, we are now launching a LINKUSDT quanto perpetual swap contract with up to 50x leverage on 16 October 2020 at 04:00 UTC. We will also be increasing the maximum leverage of the current LINKUSDT quanto future contract from 33x to 50x.
Like other quanto contracts, the LINKUSDT product will have a fixed Bitcoin multiplier regardless of the Tether/Chainlink price. This allows traders to long or short the LINK/USDT exchange rate without ever touching either LINK or USDT. Traders post margin in XBT, and earn or lose XBT as the LINK/USDT rate changes.
The contract will be visible on the platform from 15 October 2020 at 04:00 UTC as Unlisted, 24 hours before the start of trading.
Please see our blog for more information: https://bit.ly/2GWTZTW
