🖤 "She hugged me, laughed… I didn’t know it would be the last time I’d see her."

Ilhad Kendić, uncle of 15-year-old Hana Akmadžić, speaks through tears after the brutal attack in Graz.

Ilhad was on Vir Island when he heard something terrible had happened. Then came the news: Hana was among the ten killed in a high school shooting. His world shattered.

“I called her right away. No answer. Just silence. My heart broke in that moment.”

Though Ilhad lives in Maribor, he was in daily contact with Hana, who lived in Graz with her family.

The last time they saw each other was just before Eid.

“She hugged me, laughed… I didn’t know that would be our last moment. Only faith is keeping us alive now. May our angel rest in paradise.”

🕊️ The Graz school attack left 10 people dead, including Hana, Kaid J. from Travnik, and Lea Bajrami (15) from Kosovo. The 21-year-old attacker later took his own life. The motive remains unknown.

Conference of European Rabbis: A Provocation of the Ages 🇮🇱🇧🇦 From June 16 to 18, the Conference of European Rabbis (CER)—a three-day gathering bringing together many rabbis from across Europe—will be hosted in Sarajevo. Founded in 1956 and now headquartered…
🇧🇦🇮🇱 Cancelled Conference of European Rabbis in Sarajevo: Organizers Say Bosnia and Herzegovina Should Be Excluded from EU Accession Process

They add that the decision to block the conference on European soil is not only alarming but also highly revealing.

This is a clear violation of EU obligations and values (Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, Articles 10 and 22; European Council Declaration on Antisemitism, 2020). Bosnia and Herzegovina should certainly be excluded from the process of accession to the European Union after this shameful persecution of a European religious group. Sarajevo has declared itself a ‘city of openness and tolerance’ for everyone—except Jews,” the statement concludes.

🕎 Yesterday, the organizers of the Conference thanked former mayor of Sarajevo Benjamina Karić and commended her for hosting the event, as she supported “pro-Israel and pro-Zionist organizations.”
No other Bosnian government official contacted the Conference of European Rabbis.

We feel unwelcome, and this latest moment of ministerial boycott against European Jewish citizens, who are solely dedicated to promoting Jewish life in Europe and advancing dialogue and democracy across the continent, is shameful,” the statement reads.

They add that CER events encourage dialogue, strengthen interfaith activities, and promote public engagement.

This is a loss for Sarajevo. We are pleased that the Bavarian government will support the relocation of our event to Munich, and we, as an organization, will continue to support Jewish communities in Europe without interruption,” the statement continues.

🕎 Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis, stated that the CER is held annually and was supposed to take place in Sarajevo at the Swissotel.

Chief rabbis from across Europe, including France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, were to gather to discuss the most urgent issues affecting European Jewish life today, as well as matters of freedom of religion or belief. Shockingly, the hotel suddenly canceled our event,” said the CER statement, obtained by Istraga.ba.

🇵🇸 They claim the cancellation followed an open letter written by Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić, which was published in the media.
They emphasize that he called on the organizers to cancel the conference in Sarajevo and, in his letter, sharply criticized the State of Israel, calling it a “genocidal entity.”

🇵🇸🇧🇦 Palestinian Community in BiH: Rabbis Never Had Serious Intentions to Gather in Sarajevo — It Was a Provocation

The Palestinian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina has responded to the announcement and subsequent cancellation of the European Rabbinical Organization's gathering in Sarajevo. They emphasized that there was never a genuine intention for the event to take place, but rather that the aim was to vilify Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Statement:
"In response to the announcement and then sudden cancellation of the European Rabbinical Organization's meeting in Sarajevo, the Palestinian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina wishes to inform the public that, according to all available information, there was never a serious intention for that gathering to actually occur. We believe this was a brutal attempt at media manipulation with the goal of anathematizing Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina for their principled and publicly expressed support for the Palestinian people and their condemnation of the Israeli genocide in Gaza," the statement from the Palestinian Community in BiH reads.

They also condemned the reactions from the European Rabbinical Organization, particularly their remarks suggesting that BiH should be banned from joining the EU.

Non-Controversial Opinion: Every Israeli attack on Iran and every Iranian attack on Israel is preplanned and negotiated with the help of the United States. There is nothing surprising about it, and Mossad is not some eldritch force in the world that can act purely on its own will. All casualties on the Iranian side have been preselected and accepted by Iran itself in order to "clean house." The only noteworthy aspect of all this is the unfiltered, collective condemnation of Israel and support for Iran across the region, which demonstrates how the Middle East is fundamentally changing. Unsubscribe to all channels who talk about WW3, they only care about views.

🇹🇷🎵 Turkish music group Hayal Meyal has reinterpreted the song "Što te nema" in memory of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide.

The band aimed to draw attention to crimes against humanity committed 30 years ago in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Previously, the group released the song "Diren Filistin" ("Resist, Palestine") as a response to the massacre of civilians in Gaza.

🗣 Frontman Emin Cakir stated:

“The pain expressed through songs, sevdalinkas, and marches is our pain too. To forget that suffering—or to allow it to be forgotten—is to renounce human responsibility. As the late Alija Izetbegović said: ‘A forgotten genocide is a repeated genocide.’”

📜 The lyrics of Što te nema were written by Aleksa Šantić and became especially well-known through the performance of Jadranka Stojaković.

Meanwhile the world is in flames, terrific.
I can officially say that post-war Bosnia has held better military parades than the United States
