Banja Luka in the 1960s. This town used to have 45 mosques; under Yugoslavia, and then later during the war, nearly all were destroyed. Today, there are 16 mosques which have been rebuilt.

🇬🇧 A Sarajevo Mushaf Identified in the British Library
Following contacts established at the International Symposium on Manunoscripts in Istanbul, experts from the Gazi Husrev-beg Library in Sarajevo helped the British Library identify the scribe and former owner of a Qur’anic manunoscript (mushaf).
The request came from Michael Erdman, Head of the Middle Eastern and Central Asian Collections at the British Library in London, who shared digital copies of several pages of the mushaf, including the colophon and an ownership note, seeking expert identification.
Sarajevo librarians determined that the mushaf was copied in 1270 AH (mid-19th century) in Sarajevo, in the Topal Ejnehan neighborhood (today the congregation of the Lubine Mosque), by Jusuf Prozorac, son of Sulejman (Yusuf ibn Sulayman Prozorli).
The neighborhood, where a mosque was built by Hajj Topal Ejnehan, founder of Vratnik, is still home to the Prozorac family, who are very likely descendants of the same scribe.

🇦🇱 Albanian volunteer 🇧🇦
An Albanian in the 1st Baon, 28th Regiment (1/28) of the 13th Waffen-SS Division "Handschar," photographed in the spring of 1944. Besides his camouflaged parka, Karabiner, Stielhandgranate, and an array of German field equipment, he's wearing a specially made "Albanerfez," a variation of the Fez given only to Albanians. It should be noted that once the men from the 28th Regiment left the Handschar Division in April 1944 to join the newly formed SS Skanderbeg Division, the Albanerfez fell out of use.
(members of the Skanderbeg Division did not wear the Albanerfez whatsoever; the Albanian government at the time decided to stop practicing leftovers from the times of Islamic governance)

"An elderly Bosnian Muslim holding a photo of his father and a certificate showing that he rescued Jews from extermination by the Germans during World War II in 1941. At that time, Bosnian Muslims hid thousands of Jews in their homes and gave them Muslim identities so they would not be arrested by German soldiers. Later, the occupying entity repaid that favor to the Muslims of Bosnia by supporting the Serbs with weapons during the war of extermination against Bosnian Muslims in 1991."

🇧🇦 Selective funding by the Government in Mostar
Over the past three years, the FBiH Government allocated 2.76 million KM for projects in Mostar only in areas where the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) wins its mandates: West, Southwest, and South.
The other areas with a Bosniak majority North, Old Town, and Southeast received zero funding.

Winter ascent of Treskavica – Pašina Planina (2,070 m a.s.l.)
Mount Treskavica once again showed its wild, yet beautiful side. Snow crunches underfoot, a cold wind cuts across the cheeks, and every step leads toward one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When I look at this, it makes me think that the Turks honor and love our president far more than we do in our own country.

🇪🇺 Brussels Pressures Bosnia Again
Once again, Brussels is issuing warnings to Bosnia and Herzegovina, demanding alignment with EU visa policy. According to the European Commission’s latest report, BiH is being criticized for maintaining visa-free regimes with countries like Turkey, Russia, China, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kuwait, and for seasonal visa-free travel with Saudi Arabia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is being told to cut ties with key global partners that bring tourists, investments, students, and political balance just to satisfy EU bureaucratic checklists.
Yes, Sarajevo already abolished visa-free travel with Bahrain and Oman to comply with EU demands. Yet Brussels says this is still “not enough.” Now, 6+1 remaining arrangements are labeled “misaligned,” as if Bosnia has no right to conduct its own foreign policy.
