Travnik Castle, locally known as Stari Grad Castle (old town castle), is a medieval town-fortress complex in the town of Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina.The construction type and other characteristics indicate that it was built sometime in the second half of the 14th century or in the first half of the 15th century. 🇧🇦

Built by the Ottoman Empire’s first governor of Bosnia, Isa-beg Isakovic, the Emperor’s mosque was initially built in honour of Sultan Mehmet al Fatih’s successful conquest of Bosnia in 1463. Isa-Beg Isakovic was a nobleman who founded the city of Sarajevo and gave it its name. A fire destroyed the original mosque. However, in the 16th Century, they built the mosque again. At that time, it was dedicated to another Sultan; Sultan Sulayman al Qanuni – also known as Suleyman the Magnificent.

What is so reprehensible, so irreducible about the current violation of human dignity in Gaza and Palestine as a whole, is that it isn’t just about insisting on the prevention of genocide in that land. We are also struggling to prevent the next genocide, the next ethnic cleansing, the next war crime, the next destructive impulse of the United States and its client states. When all of this ends in the dustbins of history and the IDF retreats from the bastion of resistance that is Gaza in defeat, as it will, all blame will be pinned upon Netanyahu and his government by the so-called international community. The Americans, the Westerners, however they refer to themselves, will come to the crime scene they enabled, which they funded, which they shaped, and they will lay down flowers for the victims, saying, “After this time, never again.” They will give their speeches about humanity and coexistence, build a few memorials, and then they’ll just continue killing. They will not have learned anything. Until the United States is held accountable and the right people in the United States are held accountable, this will not end. We might as well start digging graves for the next soon-to-be-dead toddlers.

Bosnian soldiers of the BH1 Infantry Regiment awaited Archduke Maximilian (brother of Kaiser Karl) at the Sarajevo Railway Station in 1917. Their fates were unknown, their stories untold, near the trenches where the poppy flowers grow.

A waterfall in one of the last primeval forests in Europe. The Perućica primeval forest, also called 'the lungs of Europe,' spans 1,434 hectares and is located inside Bosnia and Herzegovina. The biodiversity of Perućica, especially its vegetation, is abundant and rich. The richness of the primeval forest is evident in the fact that over 170 species of trees and shrubs, as well as more than 1,000 species of herbaceous plants, have been recorded. 🇧🇦

Vlašić is a mountain in geographical center of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its highest peak is Paljenik with an elevation of 1,943 m. It is famous for its pastures, cattle-breeding and cheese. It is closest to the town of Travnik, which it overlooks. 🏔️🇧🇦

There is no such thing as free speech absolutism; there is no such thing as a true free speech platform. The social media platforms that brand themselves as such are either extensions of governments or corporations, hypocritical in nature, serving secret interests, or they are targeted and tamed. In this world, anyone who wants to speak their mind must be able to take and throw punches. Muslims need not look further than the life of Prophets, may peace be upon them, to understand this message.

The war memorial complex in Tjentište is one of the most stunning World war II memorials in Bosnia. It commemorates the battle of Sutjeska that took place in May and June 1943. In the battle 20,000 Partisans fought against 127,000 Germans and their allies. 🇧🇦
