🇧🇦🇸🇮 "What you are looking at is a mosque in Log pod Mangartom in Slovenia, built in 1916. It was constructed by Bosniaks from the 6th Bosnian-Herzegovinian Rifle Battalion, who fought against Italy on the Soča Front.

They were such skilled and brave warriors that the inhabitants of Kranjska Gora long frightened the Italians by claiming that Bosniak troops were still stationed at the Vršič mountain pass.

The Italians never captured this pass nor advanced as far as Ljubljana, but after the First World War, out of revenge, they demolished this mosque down to its foundations and placed crosses on the graves of 102 Bosniak soldiers. Only in 2007 were the original nišans (Muslim tombstones) returned to the cemetery."

🇧🇦⚜ “Kingdom of Heresy” – Animated Film on Medieval Bosnia

Bosnian director Rešad Kulenović has released a trailer for his animated film Kingdom of Heresy, exploring a key period of medieval Bosnia when the state was labeled heretical and faced strong Hungarian pressure. The film treats heresy primarily as a political tool, highlighting the rise of the Bosnian Church and the rule of Ban Ninoslav. Animation was done by Oscar-nominated animator Dan Sousa, with visuals inspired by medieval stećci.

أصدر المخرج البوسني رشاد كولينوفتش إعلانًا تشويقيًا لفيلمه الرسومي المتحرك مملكة الهرطقة، الذي يتناول فترة مفصلية من تاريخ البوسنة في العصور الوسطى، حين وُصِمت الدولة بالهرطقة وتعرّضت لضغوط قوية من المجر. يعالج الفيلم الهرطقة أساسًا بوصفها أداة سياسية، مسلطًا الضوء على صعود الكنيسة البوسنية وحكم البان نينوسلاف. وقد نفّذ الرسوم المتحركة دان سوزا، المرشح لجائزة الأوسكار، مع مشاهد بصرية مستوحاة من شواهد القبور الوسطى المعروفة باسم ستييتشكي.

Šuʿūrī Hasan Efendi in one of his works, while discussing the peoples of the world, the author also records an observation about the Bosniaks.

“Bosniaks are known for their gentleness and dignity;knowledge, correct understanding, sound reasoning, loyalty, and trustworthiness are among their qualities. Their men and women are recognized for their pleasant appearance and helpfulness. Their ambition is great and lofty, and they have a share in honor, fame, and statesmanship. The nature of most of them inclines toward charitable deeds and embraces good actions and righteous work.”
