For years, it was inconvenient to acknowledge that the 16th Muslim Brigade played a crucial role in the liberation of Sarajevo.

This brigade was formed in 1943 with the goal of mobilizing the Muslim population against occupation. It was part of the broader Partisan movement, fighting against the Axis powers and their collaborators.

On the night of April 5, 1945, as German forces withdrew, the 16th Muslim Brigade was the first unit to enter Sarajevo through the Vratnik Gate—without bloodshed. The city's residents welcomed them as liberators, recognizing their bravery and sacrifice.

However, in the years that followed, the communist authorities often downplayed or even erased the brigade’s role in the official historical narrative. The emphasis was shifted to a broader, more generalized Partisan victory, without recognizing the specific contributions of the brigade that first stepped into the city.

Muslims played a key role in both building and liberating Sarajevo.

According to data from the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expatriates have sent up to 48.5 billion Bosnian marks over the past ten years. These funds, averaging 4.9 billion BAM annually, serve as a major source of support for many families while also having a significant impact on the country’s economy.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is among the top ten countries in the world most dependent on its diaspora. Unlike its neighboring countries, however, it remains the only state in the region that has yet to pass a law regulating its relationship with the diaspora.

While Bosnia and Herzegovina still lacks the necessary legal framework, its citizens abroad continue to send billions, sustaining the national economy.

Financial remittances account for approximately 10% of the country's GDP.

Today, we celebrate February 17, the day Kosovo spread its wings of independence and took its place on the world stage, correcting the injustice that occurred during the Conference of London, where the imperialist powers of Europe tore the Albanians of Kosovo away from their homeland and subjected them to the rule of a foreign Orthodox king. Now, our brothers in Kosovo are free to determine their own place in the world, with their own flag and their own country.

🚨 PROTEST IN SARAJEVO DUE TO BiH-ISRAEL HOCKEY MATCH 🚨

The informal citizen group "BosniaforPalestine" has called for a peaceful gathering in front of KSC Skenderija on Monday at 18:30, where the women's hockey match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israel will take place.

The protest is being organized in response to the presence of the Israeli national team, in light of the 15-month-long Genocide in Gaza.

"We invite all those who wish to express their views peacefully and with dignity to join the demonstrations in front of the Skenderija Center in protest against the decision to allow the Israeli national team to participate in sports events in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our intention is not violence but to express dissatisfaction! We call on everyone who wants to participate to do so in a civilized and responsible manner. Our stance is clear – they are not welcome here."

This War of Mine is a survival game developed by the Polish studio 11 bit studios, heavily inspired by the Siege of Sarajevo (1992–1996) during the Bosnian War. The siege, which lasted nearly four years, was one of the longest and most brutal in modern history, trapping civilians in a city cut off from basic necessities. The game reflects this reality, shifting the focus from soldiers to ordinary people struggling to find food, medicine, and safety while facing snipers, shelling, and looters.

The developers studied firsthand accounts from Sarajevo to create a brutally realistic experience By drawing from history, This War of Mine serves as more than just a game—it is a reflection of war’s true impact on civilians, echoing the suffering and resilience seen in Bosnia. It was even added to Poland’s school curriculum as an educational tool.

End of the Ukraine War 🇺🇦

Over the past few days, I have been very happy due to the fact that the end of the war in Ukraine is being negotiated not in Europe, not in Berlin, not in Paris, not in London, but in Saudi Arabia. The largest war in Europe since the Second World War is not being negotiated in Europe itself but in a brotherly Muslim country, in the Muslim world— which speaks volumes about where the centers of power in the world now are.

As a Muslim in Europe, it brings me great joy that the country of Saudi Arabia, which during the '90s—during the unipolar moment—pressed its foot down alongside other Muslim countries in support of my people against armed barbarians who wanted to erase Islam in Europe, is now at the center stage of the world, where historic decisions are being made.

It makes me very proud of my Muslim brothers in the Middle East, and it is a sign of great optimism for Muslims overall, who have been bombarded by this Shaytanic propaganda strategy aimed at making us believe that we are weak—when in fact, we are strong.

At the same time, as this is happening, the leader of Ukraine was not in Germany, was not in France, was not in the UK, but in our brotherly country of Türkiye— which again speaks volumes about where such a good and friendly people stand in Europe and in the world. This should strike fear into the hearts of those who seek antagonism against Muslims.

However, having said all of this, due to my empathy, I also feel very bitter and very angry at the United States of America. Now, we can openly say that they used and fooled Ukraine in such a bastardly, psychopathic, and disgraceful manner—truly revealing the worthlessness of America's ruling class. They never meant any promise, any agreement, anything they signed with Ukraine. And now, they disgustingly and brazenly shift the blame onto Ukraine’s doorstep.

I mean, really, they deserve all the hatred in the world; they deserve all the condemnation in the world. The history books ought to state that by far, the worst country of the 20th century— and perhaps of all centuries— is the USA.

Today, the headquarters of the Palestinian Community Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina was officially inaugurated in the heart of Baščaršija. This represents an important step in strengthening the community, preserving identity, and empowering future activities. This space will serve as a place for gatherings, education, and the promotion of culture and the history of Palestine. It will also act as a bridge for understanding and solidarity between the Palestinian and Bosnian peoples. 🇧🇦🇵🇸

After the criminal murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife in what is now the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosniaks would find themselves fighting against the imperial powers of the Entente within the ranks of the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman armies. They served with admirable courage and efficiency on the Eastern Front against the Russians, the Alpine Front against the Italians, at Çanakkale (Gallipoli), and as far south as Jerusalem, Gaza, and Baghdad against the British.
